I'm back to Ideal Protein! I was successful at losing the weight way back in 2010 and some how I have managed to gain it back. This diet does work, so here I am again. Looking forward to reaching my goal and MAINTAINING!

Welcome - . This diet works when you follow the protocol.

iowahawkeyemom Welcome back.

coffeebean - glad D2 is off to a good start! Congratulations on completing D1.

Kayweight - Welcome. how is D1 going?

Largo - about 1/2 of the recipes in the cookbook are IP product based. I am using IP, so it works for me. The other 1/2 are recipes for your evening meal - no packets required. Things like crackslaw, melt in your mouth pork, and Chicken fried rice. These make the diet a lot more fun. Be sure to check out rainbows thread. She uses a mix of IP and alternative packets.

sljumper - Welcome. - Lots of info on alternatives out there.

Have a great day folks.!

Trouble on day one : (

Is it ok to crush the pills? I almost threw up the potassium this morning. Maybe they're available in different forms? :?:

Also, is there any alternative to the capsules?

Turns out I won't be eating any of the pudding or sweet drinks, since they presumably all have sucralose, which I cannot abide. I tried the pudding.. it was a no-go.

Hoping for better luck with salty things. The BBQ chips are ok.

I started at the beginning of December and somehow managed through the holidays! I find this diet very restrictive and the cravings for me are out of this world. However.... what can I say? When it is time... It is time! and I had reached the point where it was either now or never! I am glad to still being on the wagon!

Sorry it's a start over, but welcome back - as I recall you were a 2014 Summer Starter.... a few of us are still here in the 2014 Starter thread. Some of us rebooting and several on maintenance. You can do this, Tanklan!!!

Thank you so much! Yes, it's been a struggle this past year, but I know IP works for me and so I have made my commitment to restart and really learn along the way how to stay at an ideal weight this year. Looking forward to making new friends, too! :)

Hello.

Let me introduce myself.

Mi name is Jessica, mi first language is Spanish. I did IP Alternatives 3 years ago, I did pretty well then I start working and everything change.
This time I am planning to do 10 weeks, then phase off, and the start again on second week of April, this because I will be visiting my country Costa Rica for 4 weeks. Then I will return until I reach my healthy 140 pounds.
Today is day 1, I did drink my shake and my coffee.

New to IP

Hello everyone,

I started IP diet in 2016 and today is my 4th day. I am feeling good so far, but lacking ideas on salad and veggies. I am eating Broccolli and Cucumbers everyday. Experiencing headache almost everyday.

I loved the Coconut bar and Cookie dough swirl bar. Tried Rotini and Broccolli cheese, but didn't like it that much. Rotini was hard to finish.

Looking forward.

Tuca125: You will do fine, just stick with the plan and after you phase off properly, still watch that you do not have too many carbs or you will be sorry when you start again in April.
Here's a website to keep in mind for your trip: http://costarica.com/recipes/

Some useful traditional recipes that are IP friendly: Ensalada de Repollo y Atun, Bistec Encebollado, Ceviche, Bacalao - Cod Soup, Flor de Itabo - Yucca Flower Omelet (or use zucchini flowers), Picadillo de Arracache (substitute grated turnip - not quite the same but ok), Chile Relleno - Stuffed Peppers with Beef, Mondongo (the bitter oranges can stand in for limes), etc....

Pura Vida, mi amiga Tica!

Cabbage 'steaks' roasted with garlic & olive oil, roasted cauliflower, spiralized zucchini 'noodles', stuffed baked peppers, zucchini tuna boats, roasted portabello or regular mushrooms, fennel, chayote, and my favorite: rhubarb as it counts as a veggie but reminds me of dessert.

just google low carb veggie recipes.
