Susie - great NSV! The weather was beautiful today! Have you thought about testing for sensitivities (wheat / eggs / dairy)? The pain / inflammation going away with IP does highly suggest it is a food allergy.

Hi Susie,

I am glad t hear you are still strong, it can be a challange to eat the same food the same say and I do miss the good stuff! I dream of food many nights but I try not to think much of it hehehe

For my arms I bought the collagen supplement from superstore, I life in Canada so if you are in the states you can find many more options. Ip protocol has a liquid versio as well but I prefer the pills. I am not sure if it makes a difference but it is good for joints and the skin anyway...

For weight lifting I am doing things mostly at home, I bought 2 dumbbells of 3lb each and do arm curls for biceps, an exercise for triceps (the bat wings) and one that I extend my arms to my side and lift up. I also am doing push ups with my knees on the floor. I do one day and rest the other.

So far I haven't seen many results, I am still losing weight and I feel flabby but I think that if I stick at it I will be fine in the long run. I am just trying to be patient and understand it takes time. Hopefully it helps you!

Hello, good to hear that a few of us March starters are still going strong!

As of today, I'm exactly halfway to my goal. People are really starting to notice, and my hard work is definitely paying off. I am especially appreciating the small things- walking up stairs without my heart pounding out of my chest, carrying a full basket through the grocery store without getting winded, hoisting myself out of low chairs easier, etc.

I have been getting a little burnt out the last week or so, but I'm going to rally myself so I can finish strong. I've been on IP nearly three months now, and lost 38 pounds. Hopefully I'll finish the last 38 pounds in four more months, which will put me at a healthy BMI. After that, I'd like to lose 10-20 pounds, but I'll decide then if I'm going to lose it through IP or through more exercise.

Dickinsp, I feel pretty flabby in my stomach pooch, but weightlifting has really helped my arms become less flabby. I can't stop looking at my arms happily. XD

Congrats to you on reaching your halfway point ImAShark. Isn't it wonderful when people start noticing?
I just finished trying on some summer clothes to try to figure out what to bring on a trip we are planning in June. Slacks, capris, shorts are all much to big. Even those that were too small two months ago are hanging on me now. Guess I will need to buy a few items before we go.

Ah yes, the bat wing arms. I have also been using hand weights to try to get rid of that flab. I noticed they did shrink some as the weight came off. I am hoping my exercises will help.

Nothing like a shopping trip to boost your confidence and get you motivated.

Also, I notice that you're close to your first goal. Congrats! What's the next goal, and do you think you'll be on IP past 130?

Was glad to see March Starters are still on! I too am getting ready to be done....my BMI etc was in the green and I honestly wanted to say okay I am good, will hold out a week or two than maybe try maintenance and restart in the fall for those remaining pounds. We are off to Portugal for the summer and I want to maintain there. Feeling ready to be done!!!

Hi ImAShark. My first goal is 130 with a final goal of 124, which is where my BMI says I need to be. I hope to continue the plan after reaching my first goal.
We are traveling to Europe in June and I hope the increased walking will help to keep me from gaining, but my traveling companions love to eat and are on the slender side.

Portugal will be a good place for maintaining... I'm thinking delicious fresh grilled fish and veggies and the odd glass of Port in the evening . Making me drool already. Google some typical foods there and plan on how to fit some into your maintenance style.

I went to Spain (Costa del Sol) last summer when I was on P1 and found it totally easy. So much fresh food there. And lots of great walking and hiking.
Doing Maintenance there will be a breeze!
Have a great time

Just posted above about Europe - but you will find it very easy to make great choices there, regardless of what your companions order. My friends ordered all kinds of things, but they always had great choices on the menu for me. I find Europe much healthier overall, and the way they prepare things is more simple and lower calorie-laden. I almost always lose weight in Europe, between all the extra walking and just being in vacation-mode/low stress. However, I have also taken work trips to Europe and still kept weight down - I think they just use better ingredients there.

Have fun!

Hello ladies,

Just an update! I have been doing push ups, squats, abs, 3lbs dumbbells in each hand one day and one day rest for the last week. I love the push ups can really feel my arms working! The only thing is that the scale only moved 0.2lbs today in my weight in but I am quite happy because I know I am gaining muscle and it weights more than fat so the fact I still lost 0.2lb got me thrilled! I know with weight training your weight goes a bit up before going down so I am patient.

Other than that all my summer clothes are loose, I am down 1,5 ringsize and I need to do something about my engagement ring and wedding band, its about to fall off! I am making it an excuse to get an upgrade set hehehe I just need the finger to stop shrinking!!! I am also taking collagen pills, 3 every day but it has only been a week so I am not sure of the results yet. I will let you ladies know if my bat wings get firmer after a few weeks of training and collagen intake.

Anyways, it is sunny here in Saskatchewan (finally) and I feel better each day!!!

Tossing an idea out - with the recent decline in activity on the boards, I was wondering if there would be any interest in combining the remaining January / February / March IPers in a Winter 2015 group? Let me know - if the general consensus is positive, I can start a new thread Sunday.
