My week 6 weigh in was 3.8lbs. I'm just about at a 25lb loss for 6 weeks. I've found it easier and easier to do each day. Cheating is not even an option. I've had to travel a lot on the plan and end up losing over 3 lbs every time I do...(I don't use any WF products while traveling...hmmmm)
Dkc71: that's an amazing loss! You must feel great. I think you nailed it when you said cheating isn't an option. You're mentally tough which is the real key to success. Keep strong.
Hello everyone
I’m pretty new to IP, about 4 weeks into the program, and so far, I’m quite happy with it.
I found the 3FC forum, and have been happily reading through some past threads and finding RECIPES (I found quite a few to try already).
Since my starting date was in April, thought I’d just pop in to this thread to say hi, and hope to join you all in your journey.
I haven’t really set myself a firm goal, but probably 50 lbs, so I’ll be here awhile

I find it really hard when I'm travelling. Other than Subway salads; what do you eat? thanks

Welcome and best wishes for a successful journey. I've been trying lots of new vegetables and having fun with the food. I wasn't paying enough attention to the salt, oil and supplements at first but now that I have that under control I feel great!
UGH!! I've just had my 5 week weigh in, I've only lost 15.8lbs. Now I know a loss is a loss, but MY GOODNESS the weight is coming off so slowly this time. The last few restarts I did I consistently lost 12lbs in the first two weeks. :-(
That's my pity party for the moment. Deep breath, time to keep going!

I my 4 week weigh in. Did not lose pounds but I did not gain while we were camping over Memorial Day weekend! lost 1. 75 inches! So far I have lost 9lbs and 17 inches!!!!
Haven't checked in for a while. Today is my 6th WI. So far I have lost just over 12 lbs. Sort of discouraging after hearing how well so many others are doing. But still very happy that the scale keeps going down.
Getting really bored with the diet. I hate to cook or don't have time for it. So meals become repetitive and boring. I have stayed OP the entire time, other than just not eating a meal at all here and there.
My clinic offers a power drink called Mangosteen that you can add to water. It tastes really good, so now I can make my water goal every day. It is REALLY sweet, so I can make a box of 12 last quite a while, just using 1/2 package per 8 oz glass of water.

Here's a typical travel day for me:
Breakfast: powdered shake or oatmeal - I make the oatmeal out of the little coffee makers in the hotel room. Sometimes if i'm really hungry, I'll order an egg white omelet with approved veggies.
Lunch: Find a salad bar, or go to a restaurant and get a big salad with lots of veggies I can have. I bought travel size olive oil and vinegar packets that I can bring in my carryon, in the 1 qrt bag. I also ask for lemon wedges for dressing.
Snack1: Live for my restricted bars- easy to pack!
Snack 2: since I only had a salad for lunch, i'm usually hungry. i'll have a shake late afternoon
Dinner: I usually keep it simple and order a steak with no butter, or a piece of grilled chicken, no sauce, or a buger, no roll with approved veggies. I think I do tend to eat a little more animal protein ounces than I do at home. Other than a steak, menus rarely offer the portion size.
I also have learned to find a store w/ presliced veggies, and pick up some sliced peppers, or even a cucumber to cut up. Just knowing you have something in case you're hungry makes it easier.
I recently went to a pizza party at my bosses house in CA and brought my own piece of grilled chicken from a market w/ sliced raw peppers. They all felt gross after, but I felt great! As they munched on cookies, I had my bar. Easy Peasy. And I lost almost 4 lbs when I got home!!
WI 5 today and down 2lbs for a total of 19.5. I am thrilled with the results. Don't get discouraged if you're not dropping as fast as you'd like, most important thing is the direction. All the success stories on these threads seem to go through slow times and then pick up again. I think the amount you have to lose is part of it too. I have to lose about 100lbs so it's a bit easier for me to drop the first 20-30lbs. This program can be hard but so is being overweight. We're here because we all made the commitment and we're all going to reach our goals. Keep strong all!
Week 6 and I "only" lost a pound this week, for a total of 20.2. I'll take it, though.
Learning to use some of the IP recipes, and I just made the crack slaw for the first time yesterday. Boy, do I now know why they call it crack slaw! That stuff is delicious. The sauce tastes like the stuff you dip dumplings into. Delish!
Anyway, congrats to all of you for sticking to it. Let's all be June "losers!"
I just had my 6th weigh in and have so far lost 14 lbs. I could not be happier! I usually don't stick with diets and this has been hard. I have declined lots of girl's nights which I am thanking myself now. Last weekend we traveled and that was hard since all of the veggies I cut up froze in the mini fridge. I did eat the free egg and sausage breakfast at the hotel, subway salad, and ordered chicken kabobs with 2 cups of broccoli for dinner one day. I ordered a turkey burger minus the bread for another dinner. The worse part of the diet for me is all of the comments I get daily from my coworkers and friends while eating. I feel great though in my clothes and all those things I hated or avoided because of my weight are disappearing. Next week I start phase 2. Yeah!
We're closing in on our 2nd month. For the most part, I find it easy but there are moments when I really struggle. I don't particularly enjoy cooking and have very little time to do it as I'm very rushed every day after work shuttling kids to various sports. I find it easier to have my dinner at lunch time and then end up eating IP crisps in the car and some cut up veggies around the dinner hour. When I find my willpower waning, I jump on these threads and read the success stories. Enjoy your week all! Post your statuses.
I've been meaning to post, but the past few weeks have been keeping my mind elsewhere (my MIL passed away at 91, not unexpected, but sad, she was such a big part of our lives).
Anyway, I thought it would derail me some, but I am progressing. SLOWLY. (sounds like I have company with what some of you have been saying, so maybe it's not so bad).
Week 5 - I am down a total of 12.8, but I had a WI yesterday 4 lb! Quite happy with that (the 1s and 2s were just a bit discouraging), but I just keep reminding myself that when I started this journey, my goal was to average 2 lb a week, so I'm on track. Still, that "4" sure felt great!
However, I am leaving tomorrow for a 3-day trip. Thank you dkc71 for the travel tips. I am trying to plan the part of the days that I can, and make sure I take along anything I need.
Wish me luck, this is my first test away from home for more than a day.
Hi iPeeps
Just so you are aware, with the recent decline in activity (summer, work, life - we all know how it goes), some consolidation has occurred and there is a new thread for 2015 January - June starters here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...to-summer.html
The monthly threads are not closing, but it seemed to be a good time to try and bring more people together to share ideas and experiences.
Hope to see you there
