First weight in tomorrow!
Hi ladies,
My first weight in is tomorrow, I am a little nervous. hehe Most of the days I felt ok but yesterday I was so hungry at night that I ate an ip cranberry bar. My coach told me that the first week I might feel extra hungry and said it was ok if I ate a non-restricted bar, it is better than eating something outside of the diet. She made me buy some extras just in case and I am glad she did! I had just one last night and it was enough. Aside from that no other deviation from the diet plan. I dont have bad breath but my pee stinks, oh boy! Is it a sign of ketosis? I hope you guys are progressing in your diet, I will know about mine tomorrow and come here to tell everyone the results. Hang in there ladies, we can do it!!! :carrot: |

First Weigh-in
My w/i was today. Down 2.9 pounds. Was hoping for more but I was dieting prior to jumping on Alternative IP. I have been exercising too plus my period due tomorrow. I know that I was not 100% this week as we have been on Spring Break from school/work for the past 8 days. I am happy with the essentially 3 pounds gone though. My first goal is 15 pounds by May 17th. 3 down/12 to go in 7 weeks. My second goal is 25 pounds-22 pounds to go by June 28th ( 13 weeks). I want to maintain right around that amount lost.

Hello! I am doing Ideal Protein for the 2nd time also. I lost 18 pounds the first time and did not phase out correctly and have since gained it back. My goal is 115-118. I want to hit this weight before summer. We live in Montana and do a lot of camping, boating and rafting; want to look decent in my swimsuit. Hoping this forum gives me the support I need by reading other people's posts.
Any suggestions for the 2 cups of veggies with lunch....I am great at getting my veggies at dinner; but sometimes just skip the other 2 cups. I know that I need to eat those..... I did not phase out correctly and gained my weight back also. My goal is to finish the program correctly and keep it off this time! |

Do you eat salads? Normally my lunch salad has peppers, onions and cherry peppers. |

Hello everyone. Great idea having a group at the beginning of phase 1. I began last Saturday and made it through the week successfully. I knew I was committed but thought it would be harder. I did have the headaches for the first 3 days but a little sea salt in water did the trick. Also, the crazy hunger I had has diminished (yahoo).
Pizza, and two cakes in staff room this week and didn't want it. I am surprised to see so many people exercising on this program. My coach was pretty clear about exercising and she told me a definite no no. She said it would impede my weight loss. Excited about weigh in tomorrow! |

Hi all, you all are doing great, I started IP over a year ago, and lost 60 pounds, have gained 20 back. I am on day 2 of reboot. Cloths were getting to tight and can't get into some I could prior to this. I am not buying new cloths and have plenty of cloths in lower sizes that I can wear when I get there.
You all are inspiring. I have to stay reading the boards and be more active. I feel much better when I am on IP. Hope you all have a great Day!!!!!!! |
Hello all!! My name is Shelly, I am on Day 12 of the IP Diet, and I have lost 15lbs so far...I have one beautiful little 7 yr old daughter, Ava, and I am a retired police officer. I gained a 130lbs in one year due to injuries I received in the line of duty, which ultimately forced me into an early retirement after 18 yrs. I am PRAYING that IP will be my miracle to get back to a somewhat "normal" me again, whatever that is supposed to be!!! :)

Happy Friday everyone!
For those asking about veggies - I find kale chips and rutabaga fries is a great way to get in your extra veggies. I almost over eat on those and need to be careful! Or if you do the chocolate drink, add spinach to it and blend with some ice. It looks kinda gross color-wise but you barely notice the taste. Start with a cup or even 1/2 cup and go from there. As for exercise, my coach always told me to only do "conversational cardio", so basically as long as you weren't over exerting yourself so much that you couldn't carry on a conversation. When I was most successful I was doing pilates about 5 times a week. It wasn't a super sweaty workout, but I definitely gained muscle and my tummy toned up. I'm suppose to have my weigh in today, but talked to my coach and am going to switch to Mondays. I find too often after my weigh in on Fridays I end up giving myself a free pass over the weekend thinking I can make up for it before next Friday. Hoping this will help me stay accountable over the weekend! Hope everyone has a great OP weekend and for those of you experiencing the headaches, here's to hoping they disappear once and for all! |
I'm having a little trouble knowing if I'm doing this right. I can't afford to go to a coach. Guess I will know once I get on the scale but I am doing it only at the 1 week mark and at the exact same time wearingt eh exact same clothes lol/ have a great weekend everyone!
|
Hope everyone has had a great week, and are looking forward to an OP weekend!
|
I was kind of stressed about today because at only 5 days OP, I was going out all day with the kiddos. I packed my hard boiled eggs and my EAS Shake, and I did really, really well! I was so afraid I'd go off plan, but I stuck with it and I'm on the downhill slope to week2!
I did my measurements today and I'm down a total of 10.25 from January 1st, so that makes me happy. Naturally it's all in my chest. I'm eager to see what I look like closer to goal now that I've had 2 kids. When I was in HS I did LA Weight Loss, lost 50 pounds and my "B" belly disappeared! I'm interested to see if that changes because of the pregnancies. No loss with my daily WI, but again, I'm not fussed by it. I just feel better acknowledging that I did it. I haven't even done my affirmation today! I guess I will write it out at bedtime. |
First weight today - results.
Hello ladies,
I had my first weight today and I lost 4.4 lbs and it was for 6 days. Tomorrow is officially my 7th day. I am happy with the results so far and looking forward to next Friday. My coach said that if I feel too hungry that I should eat another ip product but try as much as I can not to. I think it's fair. I bought French Vanilla whitener today and will be using it in my coffee. Other than that, let week 2 begin! :) |

Have a question. Know should get plenty of sleep but this does not happen with my Jobs, have a regular job and then work second job on weekend, sometimes only 4 hours of sleep a night, attempting to get more. But when tired I over eat :(. Any ideas on helping not to cheat/over indulge- even if IP food. Need help with this. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Hope you all have a great weekend, stay IP true. |

As for over indulging when you're tired, if you can, once a week wash and chop up and portion out all your veggies. I know I always fail when I get hungry and am too lazy to prepare something healthy, so if it's easy to grab and go, you should have no excuses! From my understanding cucumbers are an unlimited veggie, so that's a perfect one to have ready to go if you get hungry and you've already hit your regular 4 cups of veggies. |

Hot herbal tea is one of my best friends when it comes to this, because you can have as much as you want and it's not a cheat. I also set arbitrary rules that can be helpful - like, "if I'm really hungry I can have another IP packet, but only if I put the computer away and sit at the table eating it like a meal, not just tearing into it over the kitchen sink or while browsing the internet." Then I find I would rather keep doing what I'm doing. Similarly, I can trick myself by continually moving the goalpost - "I'm hungry now and I can have a packet, but why don't I wait an hour, have some herbal tea and see if I still want it." Even if I do still want it (and frequently I do), often I can talk myself into waiting another hour, and so on until I either go to bed or it is legitimately time for a packet. And even though I know it's a trick, I fall for it because I enjoy the challenge...and I know the packet is there if I really and truly do need it. |
Dietbet challenge starts now!
Hey there IP'ers
Click on the link below to join my Dietbet challenge! The challenge is $25 and all those who loose 4% in a month split the pot! I have won $433 since January for my new wardrobe! The pot is over $300 already! :carrot: I hope you will join me! http://diet.bt/2JfbxW Cheers, Heidi |
A little loss has gotten me under 260! So excited! I'm 9 pounds away from my wedding weight and 24 pounds away from the weight I was when I met DH. :-)
Food is going really well today, EAS strawberry shake for breakfast and I'm cooking radish soup right now for lunch. I find soup to be the easiest way for me to get my veg in for the day. I'll probably still be eating soup in July when it's 90 degrees out! |
Hey ladies,
For the ones that are doing the alternative method, which shake do you use that qualifies as unrestricted? I heard of the Quest powder but it has 22g protein, and we arent supposed to go over 17g per serving... so what do you guys buy? |
phase one shake.

Hey girls, would this qualify as phase 1 ip diet? |
actually, this one is 15g, the other one is 25g.

I have also started looking for the Rutabagas so I can make a puree and put it in my shake. I seen that on youtube also but it was an IP video. I still have not been able to find the Rutabagas, but I may go to the farmers market. Be careful with the mandolin, I ended up in ER early this morning because I sliced my finger yesterday trying to slice cucumbers and it would not stop bleeding. Didn't need stitches, but it hurts. I will be more careful the next time. :( |
So I started March 15, decided to read this since than for support and than thought how selfish to read but not offer support! I had my first way in on my 10th day due to work, was done 7lbs, so that was GREAT! I found my second week the hardest, with the headaches but slugged along!
|
Hi! Today is day 6 and I woke up headache free! Thank goodness! I feel so much better. I notices yesterday that I was not hungry at all - same thing today. I have to make it a point to eat lunch or I could go until dinner without anything. Can't waint until Monday to weigh in. Have a great day!

I love all the puddings and drinks. The cheese and broccoli soup was really good as well as the chicken stew type. Those two soups are also great to add your 2 c veg in after its cooked. |
Hey!!! I did this program about 4 years ago and I surpassed my goal weight and kept it for most of that time but I felt like since I worked so hard that I was exempt from any further weight gain. My bad. Won't make that mistake again. A year full of turmoil and oops I gained about 25 lbs. not going to buy new clothes so here I am. Been on about 2 weeks about 1 week serious. Gotta get this done. Not using a coach but am using the product. When I remember how to fix my tracker I will. Happy Saturday !!

Hi All,
Not sure what happened thought I posted, but not here. Thank you so much Knm for the video on cutting up the rutabaga, it really helped. Have to change up my vegetables. And will make sure to have vegetables cut up ahead of time, have not been doing this but have to make time for myself, have been working a lot. Lettuce, thanks for the ideas of tea and then making it that you have to stop doing what you are doing to eat the packet if extra. I have not been doing that and then just really hungry even after eating the extra packet, etc. Working today, but did plan a head. Have all food ready. Hope everyone has a great day. Keep IP positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
