What a great idea! I am going to take a chicken out of the freezer and defrost it. I can make this tomorrow!

I was thinking of replacing the food I run out of with a hi protein food, like Hard Boiled eggs. Thoughts?
Eggs - hardboiled, scrambled, poached or in omelet or Spanish omelet style.

Check your local stores for suitable IP alternatives. I know Walmart and Costco sell the AdvantEDGE RTDs that are compliant. Could even pick up a whey protein tub from somewhere like GNC as a cupboard backup.

Or check out the diabetic aisles in the pharmacy. Although you have to watch out for fat and high carbs, there are often alternatives that are suitable. The ChocoLite/ChocoRite range fits nicely into the acceptable line.

Hope this helps!

Am not a newbie but I am back for a reboot. Not much of a poster but I have been lurking for years, yes years! Even as I let the pounds re-attach themselves, I have celebrated your losses and all the successes. I am hoping to be one of those success stories this time around.

Nice to read about eggs being a good emergency substitute if you run out of IP food. Good to know.

I have kind of gone the other way...each week I've bought extra food so I have choices each day. The idea of having the amount of food exactly match the number of meals to go before next WI meant I was locked into my menu with no last minute impulse choices.

I'm getting ok with this restricted diet, as long was I can maintain some leeway. And it's working...22 lbs lost in 3.5 weeks!

Good Morning Everyone....

Well after a nice loss yesterday it was a treat to slide right into a pair of brand new size 16 jeans that I picked up on the clearance rack on Saturday at Kohls LOL....Really thought they were going to be too snug, but no they fit perfectly...now I am mad that I didn't get the 14 and work my way into them LOL....So I think this means I need to get rid of the 2 size 20's that I am still holding onto even though they fall off me LOL...

DS has hockey again today and then the team is having a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight...have to look at the menu to see if there is anything I can eat, otherwise I will just go and have an ice tea with the team and eat dinner after @ home.

Good morning! Thanks to everyone's encouragement, I signed up for my neighborhood's biggest loser competition last night. We have to email our weight to everyone each Wed. Definitely NOT something I ever would have considered doing 75lbs ago. Looking at the weights listed I am in the range of most others. Wish me luck!

Sue - I am so excited for your size 16's!! You will be in 14's in no time.

I gave a huge bin full of old clothes to my SIL this weekend that I thought she would like/use. I am bringing some jeans to a resale shop to see what I can get for them. New experience getting rid of too big clothes. Previously I would have tucked them in the back of my closet "just in case." But no more!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Congrats! That is such a great feeling!

Good morning, friends!
I'm enjoying the benefits of the first week on this diet (large woosh, the novelty of different foods, super easy meal prep)...The first week has some painful moments, but they are definitely outweighed (har har) by the upsides.

Thanks for all of your welcoming comments yesterday. I'm committed to staying active on this forum. Yesterday I changed my ticker to update it for where I currently am in my journey. I found that updating my age was much more painful than updating my weight ! Ha! I generally don't care about age, but recently I've had TWO people randomly ask if I was my husband's (he's a year older than me) mother. Granted, both times he was in gym clothes and I was dressed for work, but still...I was very gracious, but still kind of hurt/annoyed. One of them was my neighbor whom I'd never met before (we just moved). She doubled down on it and wouldn't let it go even after I corrected her mistake. But in my mind, I was like, sheesh! Clearly, changing my ticker triggered a sensitive issue but writing this about it has made me laugh--so, thanks for humoring my one-sided therapy session .

Hope you all have a great day!

Wow, that's so rude! I'm guessing she won't be your favorite neighbor!!

Default Premier Protein Shakes

I am restarting and using ALTS. I am in a hurry but can anyone tell me if Premier Protien shakes are unrestricted or no?

Another winter day in the DC metro area -- cold today, with single digit wind chill -- I rummaged through a dresser of smaller sized sweaters and found several former favorites that I can now wear again!

DH and I will be heading out to the dentist for him, and then I have a dinner engagement with my old boss this evening. I checked the menu and an 8oz filet and lettuce wedge will help me keep OP. Need to wait till I get there to check the veggie side order options - if none seem doable, I'll have cauliflower and turnips when I get home.

Off and running in the new year! I plan to do an unofficial weigh in for the Diet Bet challenge tomorrow morning -- tomorrow is also my official weigh in day with my IP coach, so I will be posting to the 25 by Spring Challenge here too. Got my fingers crossed for good results!!!

Hi. Am back after 2 years with a reboot, this time with alternatives. I have a question: I know that celery is on the unlimited list, but did you know that one medium celery stalk has 1.2 carbs? If I'm starving, I can woof down a half dozen in between meals - especially this first week when my body is readjusting to the severe calorie reduction. That can't be good! Has anyone asked their coaches about that?
