Hi everyone. I just started Sunday. Everything's been going well for me. Had my first WI and am down 7lbs, although only half a pound of that is fat. My coach explained how that's likely the glycogen leaving first, and the fat will come. The explanation didn't bother me at all since I can actually see the difference in my body.
Do any of you know—is there a list of gluten free packet options? I'm getting a little tired of soup for lunch.
Have a great weekend, everyone! You're all an inspiration to me.
I just started IP on Wednesday. I have some questions...
Can I drink coffee? Diet Pepsi? Pellegrino?
Also, can I have the IP for dinner and the Chicken, fish, etc for lunch?

Hi Josie, good luck with IP. You can have coffee but not too much. Caffeine can dehydrate you. Do you drink it black? No soft drinks - even the diet ones. IP doesn't allow aspartame. You can have your 8oz of protein whenever you like as long as you get it in!
Hi hopefull199, I am doing a reboot of sorts too. I started Oct 2013 and reached my goal in April but gained half of it back so here I am. Hoping to be back close to my goal by Christmas. Good luck and welcome back!
Well after a few months of thinking I can do this on my own and gaining 15lbs back I decided that I really can't do it and decided to go back OP and changed clinics hopefully this one gives me more support than the last one so far so good with the new one I'll find out next week with by first WI with them!
I just started IP on Thursday, 10.23. At the WI, with clothes and all I was 158. I plan to wear the exact same outfit each week, so that I can get an accurate weight. At home, I started at 154 and as of this morning I was 152. I noticed that people have been losing weight very quickly on this program. I stay hungry, though. Any suggestions?
I have hypoglycemia and my coach told me that it is okay to eat an extra pack to get my blood sugar up if it gets too low. I've had to do that twice. I'm hoping that this will lessen over time and as my weight is reduced. I'm excited about the program and look forward to seeing the results!
I started in September so not technically part of this group but wanted to post that my coach allowed me 4 packets at the beginning. I really needed them at first and I also used cut up cucumbers and the "free salad" in between at first. I don't actually like plain salads or raw veggies that much. Plus, I never really used just vinaigrette as my dressing. What I found for me, was actually being *hungry* was a good motivator to appreciate the raw veggies and the salad. For me, adding the IP salt helped to flavor it up. Also, I now really enjoy raw peppers that I cut up and will use as my 2nd cup of veggies sometimes. I make a little dip of Walden Farms Thousand island dressing plus Franks hot sauce. I can't stand the Walden Farms dressing by itself but with the hot sauce it's good...
Stephascope: I was very motivated to see your pics! Good job. I hope mine will be just as amazing!
Thanks Sunni J! I gained about half of my weight back over the past 6 months so here I am rebooting a year after I started IP originally. We are the same height and almost the same weight right now. To answer your question about hunger - I find I am very hungry on IP. Ketosis never took away the hunger. I can't help but feel sorry for myself. It's funny how we think we should never feel hungry and reach for the worst foods when we do.
Good luck and stay in touch! This forum was extremely important to my success on IP and I hope you check in often.
Stephascope: Can you give me a typical run-down on your daily eating/drinking habits and any work-outs that you do?
I am starting the day off right. I took my supplements, drank a shake, and working on water. I was a little frustrated today when I got on the scale. I was up a little. Is that normal?
I know I probably shouldn't weigh every morning, but it helps me to gauge where I am. I have the ketostix and try to keep a check on that, but I know sometimes it can be a little off, especially if I have just had a lot of water.
All I know is that at 37, this is the time to get the weight off. Obesity runs in my family, and I do not want to end up in a chair or taking insulin shots if I can prevent it with weight loss and proper eating habits. I, also, want to have energy to play with my 3 children.

Hi Sunni, I am rebooting with Phase 3 as per my coach's suggestion. When I was on Phase 1 last year I would normally have a chocolate drink for breakfast with black coffee and water throughout the morning. Lunch was usually sour cream and onion soy puffs or the newer crisps with 2 cups of raw veggies - usually cucumber or celery with red/orange/yellow peppers. I would save some of my veggies for my drive home because I was normally very hungry after work. I would also munch on romaine lettuce before supper. Dinner was the usual 8 oz of protein with cooked vegetables. My restricted snack was saved for just before 8pm. I always saved my snack for then so I wouldn't feel hungry or deprived before bed. Eating is very psychological for me! I didn't exercise on Phase 1. I was going to continue running during this reboot but this first week on Phase 3 is still causing a lot of hunger in the afternoon which is when I normally have time to run. You don't need to exercise on Phase 1. Walking is enough.
I'm in reboot mode.. Took some time off due to life stressors and couldn't focus properly on losing weight until I worked through some other stuff. Well, as of yesterday, I made a commitment to myself to get back on the IP wagon and reach goal. I've gained a bit since going off back at the end of April but, not too much so I am forgiving myself and putting my best efforts forth. So great to be back. Thanks for sharing your stories.. I look forward to sharing more.
