Hi Everyone, I started the diet 3 days ago and so far so good. I have started so many diets, that I am just ready to just get it done already. Also I moved to LA 6 months ago, and living between actresses and models also provides some awesome motivation. I actually have company outing that are at the beach. EEWK!

I am also thinking I may do crossfit like twice a week but tailored down. I mainly want to go because I have a groupon that may be expiring soon and the gym literally is next door to my apartment.

Welcome!:)

Regarding exercise - you shouldn't do any exercise for the first few weeks while your body is adjusting to the diet. And if you do add exercise in, it really should be at about 30%-50% lower intensity than the activity level you had before starting IP. Crossfit would be tough to scale down, especially if you were not an avid crossfitter before. Have you discussed it with your coach?

Hi everyone! I haven't been on these boards for years, but I am back! I started Ideal Protein on Monday, and this is day 3. I am feeling great, and excited to make this work for me!

Hello - I started IP - using alternative products, on 8/12. Is there another thread that I should be using?

There is a thread for those of us who use alternative products (great for advice on products and where to buy), but we're all still on the IP program regardless of the products we use, so feel free to post anywhere in the IP forum!

Hi everyone,

Today is my 3rd day of IP, so far it is going okay except for feeling quite hungry. Despite all the veggies, it is a lot less food than what I am used to eating (hence why I gained a lot of weight in the first place!)

Although new to IP, I am not new to dieting and have tried lots of different things in the past. I had the most success with WW, but I could never maintain my losses. I've seen a bunch of friends and co-workers have great success at IP and so I'm giving it a shot. One of my friends has been maintaining her losses for about a year now and that is what I am looking for - a really strong maintenance element so I can stop the cycle of losing and gaining.

Glad to be here with all of you inspiring people!

Lucy

Hi Lucy!
Join right in on the community Daily Chat. You'll find the most support there. Many of us have a history of losing/regaining weight with regularity. It is time to get a handle on it & put a stop to it.

I highly recommend the Beck Diet Solution book. I've read it several times but during the 90 day IP challenge, I'm actually working thru the assignments (not just thinking about them).

New girl to IP

I am new to site, new to Idea Protein. Started diet on Tuesday 9/3/14. I am wanting to lose about 60 pounds. I have a challenge with this diet...I am not a meat eater too much, so i am going to have to think outside the box I guess. I have only had 1 bad day out of the first week, going good so far. Looking forward to restored energy and more get up and go. Also, can't wait to have a little less me on these old joints of 48 years. Good luck to everyone trying to make lifestyle changes for whatever reason.

Hi Everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I don't actually start on IP till this Friday morning (Sept. 12/14). I had my first meeting with my coach last Wednesday and tomorrow will be my first weigh in and measurements. Tomorrow morning I'll also be seeing my doctor, hoping desperately for a go ahead from him. I'm excited yet a little nervous about starting the program. Been over weight most of my life. I'm a 51 year old woman, married, have a daughter 19 and son almost 18. I've been reading and YouTubing lots of info about IP and really feel good about it. As most of you, I've also tried many diets. I'm hoping this one is the charm. I'd like to lose 100-120 lbs. We're all going on a very long awaited caribbean cruise on Mar. 1/15, so I have 6 months to get a good head start on the program. I know I won't lose all my weight before the cruise but would like to hopefully lose about 50 lbs. by then so I can at least be feeling a bit better. My fear though is going off program for that week. Will this be ok to do? I'm thinking once I start eating foods I'm no longer used to or even the alcohol I won't be used to...that I may be sick. Lord knows I've waited long enough (25 years) to go on this cruise. I'd hate to have it ruined by being sick the whole time. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea as to what may happen when I go off program for one week. Eagerly waiting for your responses. Can't wait to get started and to get to hear more of all your inspiring stories.

Welcome Miss Andi & TMOS24!

I think you will find not eating meat is not that big of an issue. I started out without meat, eating protein shakes and fish (if you dont count it as meat). I started eating more meat along the way just for the sake of variety though.

Hello everyone!

Today is my first day on IP. Just one meal in and so far so good! Have about 60lbs to lose and one of my goals is to lose for a surgery on my colon. I've been trying to lose on my own but seem to just be maintaining vs losing and with the stress of the upcoming surgery I decided to do IP so that it was one less thing that I have to think about. Excited to be here.

Hi everyone! :) I am new to this site, and started my Ideal Protein back on August 25th. I'm 32 and a proud mommy to my beautiful 20 month old girl. I put on quite a bit of weight with my pregnancy and have found that all my "old tricks" to lose weight were not working. I heard about Ideal Protein from my mom who is having amazing sucess. This is my 3rd week into the program and I feel great so far. My first week weigh in I was down 7lbs and an additional 4.4lbs on week 2. I'm 100% committed with no cheats going into week 3. I am still having a VERY hard time with my chocolate and sugar cravings :dizzy:, but the sucess that I've had so far is helping me be strong. Baby steps! Looking forward to being part of this amazing group!

Make sure you are getting enough salt in and taking all your supplements & water. The easiest way to help with the headache is to do the salt lick - put some in your hand, lick it off and follow with a water chaser. :p You may be going through carb withdrawals, especially if you had cravings this week, but that may depend on what your old eating habits were like, lol. Stay 100% and get all your veggies and packets in and you will feel better in a bit. ;)
