Good Morning...or almost afternoon. I am on day 5 of IP, so having the standardized menu that I was given. Since we are all on break (4 kids and hubby), we have all been staying up late and sleeping in. I've been having my breakfasts really late, so I'm about to go make my Maple Oatmeal packet. So far so good on the foods. Some I like, some I won't get again if it's my choice. My family is being really supportive.

I had a headache the first day or so, but that's gone. My legs are feeling sore, but I don't know if that's because of IP or not. I'm one of those people that weighs themselves several times a day when on a diet...so I probably need to go put that in the attic or something. But, I do know that I have lost a few pounds for sure and I'm excited for my weigh-in on Thursday.

Saw my endo today. The cortisone shot for my hips probably messed up my thyroid because the dye they used had iodine in it. Plus I need to stop using iodized salt as well. I have Graves Disease and my T4 was a bit high. So making some changes to avoid iodine and see what happens. I have not been symptomatic so it makes me think it was the shots.

Last family Christmas thing. This time my side of the family and my Dad is buying pizza. It is not until 7, so I will eat before and just socialize. No biggie.

Good afternoon. I'm fairly new to the forum, but have been on the IP program for a while. I've got 16lbs before I reach my goal, and need the motivation and self-discipline to make the final push to goal. The holidays have been a challenge, but I've been able to maintain (mostly).

I am definitely grabbing some "snack" sized ziploc bags and packaging some of the other shakes for the rest of the week.

Guess this is my reminder to read labels very carefully. I had ordered the Optifast 800 shakes thinking they were super low cal and foolishly made the assumption they were primarily protein, minimal carb. Boy was I wrong!

As a side note, the more time I spend on here reading, the less this ridiculous hunger bothers me. Reading about all of you and your success, seeing before/during/after photos, is all motivating and drives the craving for food away. Thank you all!

I just had this exact same problem! I ordered a variety pack of bars from the Balanced Protein Diet and after eating one I started to feel grouchy and tired (which is the effect sugar has on me) I went online and checked the ingredients and they all have Fructose and Maltodextrin in the bars and Sugar in the coating.

It said they were sugarfree! I am going to be more diligent about the labels from now on.

AliExpat, Hooray!! Congrats on your amazing accomplishment. Losing weight before the new year and getting the weight off before shorts and swimsuit season is very inspirational.

I noticed a world of difference 20 lbs makes horseback riding after not being on for a few weeks. Riding is about balance and feeling balanced exudes confidence. The same is true in life. I am looking forward to experiencing life and riding at my goal weight. Or even when I get below 163, my lowest weight in more than 20 years and a mini goal.

It's called an Alaskan Klee Kai. He's a miniature husky. I have two and my parents have one. Our own little dog sled team!

Weigh in tomorrow to see if I lost the 0.8 needed to reach the challenge, then onto the spring challenge!

Default WF Chocolate Dip

So my sweet husband just went to the store and bought me a few more WF items to try. He got the chocolate dip because he knows I've been sort of craving chocolate with all the sweets around. Opened it up and tried a little bit and it tasted kind of awful plain. At least to me. I tried looking thru some of the recipe links but I'm finding them hard to search thru when you're looking for something specific. Any tips for searching and also any tips for doing anything with the chocolate dip? I'm making the chocolate pancakes tomorrow and will probably do them as muffins. Was thinking his might go good with that, but now I'm not so sure!

Net carbs = total carbs - fiber
