The only thing alternative products "don't work" for is bringing money into the IP clinics. lol

Jmuroff1:
Alternative products work if the plan is followed. Dr Tran's first book didn't list a particular product.

IP coaches know nothing about alts and any coach offering an opinion should be fired for dispensing advise about something they know nothing about.

Alts reduce profits but additionally, there is no training on any thing except IP products.

Good morning all! Hope everyone's travels and outings this weekend are safe.

WI this am and down another 2.8, bringing me over the 40 lb mark and also down into the 150's! Have not been there in a very long time and it feels good to be back. Hopefully it will be a quick visit and then I'll be moving down even more heading into the new year. Such a huge change from where I was at this time last year! I'm feeling very grateful today.

Good morning,

It is interesting to hear that coaches say the alternatives don't work. We have the perfect experiment going on at my house.
My DH actually goes to our local clinic. However, the cost of the program isn't feasible for us both to do. So, I have been using alternatives and following program along with him. (He was most in need of the 1:1 and has major medical concerns). Other than the usual male/female differences in loss rates, I am losing right along side him and truly my % of weight loss is the same as my DH. He has lost 60 and I have lost 44 since September 18th.

The great thing is my DH's coaches are AWESOME and have even offered advice to me through him!

I wouldn't be where I am on my road with weight loss without my alternatives. And actually this forum has helped. I was initially only using Cytosport shakes as my alternative and then you all pointed me towards the TRUE alternative options! Thanks again!

BuffieLynn,

Your situation sounds exactly like mine! DH started at the clinic, but we could not afford for both of us to go. Researching sites like 3FC prepared me to follow the plan on alternative products, and hubby also started using some of them after about a month on solely IP products. He has lost sixty-some pounds and i have lost 42. We have both phased off for the holidays and will go back to P1 afterwards. I want to lose maybe ten more; he has a bit more than that to lose. Best of luck to you and your hubby on your journeys!

Hello everyone!! I am new and have been on IP for a month now (16.2 pounds and 19 inches lost woohoo), anyways I have kind of a weird question....I used to have to shave my legs etc every day to have them smooth, since being on IP they are smooth for at least 4-5 days!! Is this just a weird (albeit awesome) side effect for me? Has anyone else noticed the same?? Thanks for all the advice everyone gives on here! Love this site

Evening all. Hope trying to relax. We had a bowling tourney at work tonight so I'm pretty worn out. I'm having a flare of of plantar fasciitis. Gosh it's painful. I can't hardly stand on my right foot. Anyone have any advice? Short of going back to PT I don't know what to do.

Ive been battling plantar fasciitis since I was a teenager. It comes and goes but it does take maintenance, you gotta stretch you calves and Achilles and the bottoms of your feet, you can roll a ball under your foot to stretch and massage it, also try freezing a water bottle and rolling your foot on that. Im at the point where I am going to purchase a Strassburg sock to sleep in to keep my foot stretched during the night. Im a nurse and runner so my feet get sore! I rotate my shoes through the week too. My dad is a PT and these are the things hes always told me to do over the years.

Question Winter Solstice

So happy to have made it through the Winter Solstice today where the sun does not come up in Alaska. My sister and I went out and skied 90 min in the dim light anyways, it was fun! Im so happy from this day on we will be gaining light again!!!

I had a pretty good eating day, not 100% but it was about 85%, not great.

Im really going to have to pick up the intensity with my ski training, does anyone think this is truly a bad diet to do if Im training for an endurance sport? Im confused, do I just quit IP and train on my own and try to eat right....Or do I stick with the diet and my training?????

When I had this really bad, I taped it 24/7, and then I taped it only during the day, and then only during work-outs as it got better, and finally it got better.

From my understanding, they may recommend the alternate form. I have been swimming and weight lifting the whole time, but I have ramped down intensity on both.

nolasmurf: I echo everything alaskarn said but also recommend this:

http://www.hammacher.com/Product/82807?promo=search

My boss tried every product out there and as a last resort ordered this...he said the pain is almost completely gone. Worth a try, and it's not terribly expensive.

Massage therapy will help. Also, i always tell my clients to put a bottle of water in the freezer and when your plantar fascitis flares up, take the bottle out and roll in under your foot. The ice decreases some of the swelling and you sort of get a little massage from the bottle. Hope it helps!
