Yeah for 2 days off Susie! I'm working today and then doing a 1/2 day tomorrow and off Wednesday. I hate holidays in the middle of the week - just throws my whole schedule off.

Suzie, what kind of dog is in your profile picture? He's cute under that blanket. Looks like you will make your NYE challenge. Congratulations on your steady weight loss. DLR

Day 4! Feeling much better today than yesterday. Still a bit of muscle fatigue but I'm definitely on the up and up. Lost another pound! Only two more to Onederland! Had a huge craving for sushi last night. I hadn't considered that I can't have Sushi on plan but I got some yellowtail sashimi instead. It was served on a big bed of romaine with cucumbers and it was delicious! Hope everyone has an awesome Monday!

Good Morning yall! I had dinner at my parents last night. She salted with regular salt. I woke up this morning and my face was so puffy I just had to laugh. Oh how my body responds to food these days...

You can always have mock sushi too - I make it all the time because I love sushi. Rice up some cauliflower and use that instead, just mix with a little olive oil and rice wine vinegar so it's sticky enough and enjoy!

Hi All and wishes for a Happy IP New Year!

See a lot of new names and participants! Welcome all, and keep your stories and success coming. The inspiration to everyone is priceless!

We are settling back in after much-much ...tooooo much travel and upheaval recently. Husband back to work today......for at least a half day. He has not been able to be on site at his office more than a few hrs since early November, and I need him to get back in his groove! Mine has been seriously jiggled with all the events, back to back travel and him at the kitchen table with his laptop open!

It's good to be home and have the freedom to shop for my own veggies, and plan meals that we like and are part of our lifestyle. No serious damage done to maintenance in all of this which is good...!! But the thing about habits...is you are a prisoner to new habits. The anxiety created when you feel less (not LOST) control over things is pretty overwhelming!

We are planning a nice simple seafood dinner for New Years Eve on my new Cuisinart Griddler Elite which has a sear feature. It wasn't a Christmas gift. Actually bought it the day before my mother passed away in early November, but have only been home enough to use it once since then. We did fresh tuna...and WAY over cooked it...just 2 min of sear was too much! We will try grilling portobello mushrooms on it as well tomorrow, and maybe zuchinni strips. Anyone else have one? What do you do with yours? (Will skip doing steak on it though, since that is something it's just as easy to go out for until we can fire up the outside grill again.)

Off to laundry, more unpacking and cleaning some of the dust from every surface in this house. Plus the gym...

Nice to see so many new faces along with the familiar friends...Again...Happy New Year to all.

And thanks for your love and support these last 2 months.

So nice to see/hear from so many bright and cheery faces as we approach the new year. 65X65, it is wonderful to see you back. Fingers crossed that life returns to some semblance of routine and calm for you.

I know that having the home routine change can be threatening to discipline and mean plans. We have our 19 year old home and oh my, bite my tongue!

However, I seem to have ameliorated the daily life which has been challenging for two months as I could not seem to truly get back on track after having kids home and visiting. I joined a gym and this provides me two benefits. Obviously, it helps me get healthier although at this point I am such a newbie that I am just working on the treadmill, elliptical, and bike. The other benefit is that this is MY TIME. I relax in a long hot shower afterwards, get an herbal tea, sit in a big soft leather chair and read magazines before I go back.

I think that is part of it - learning to take care of oneself without ask permission for the time or the focus. It is not only my family role (mother, wife, home organizer, whatever) that kept me from this, but my upbringing.

Our family is full of powerful women but we were all raised with a sort of Puritan outlook that vanity and pride in oneself were not to be allowed. Duty was a HUGE part of our lives and fulfilling that role was where one received praise.

So I have made it to the gym everyday except Christmas and have done at least 1/2 hour of hard cardiac exercise. That seems to have then just madet he food plan fall into place. I look at whatever I am contemplating eating and remember how hard I have to exercise if I eat it.

Good morning everyone! So glad to be back home. Had 4 or 5 pretty "bad" eating days over the last week and I'm up 3.8 lbs this morning. I'm not going to stress too much over it but I'm regretting agreeing to go out NYE for a fancy dinner. Should have convinced DH to stay in that night so I can stay OP all week before my WI on Friday.

Congrats to those who stayed OP through Christmas. You rule! IP Power to those of us who need to get back 100%!

Good morning all! Having a cup of coffee then getting ready to hit the mall! My goal is to find a dress or outfit for tomorrow. Then I have to run to SAMs and get my nails done. Gonna be a busy one.

Morning everyone! Still off today - last day of a hockey tournament for my son, yay...I'll be so happy to not be in an arena for a while

Spent last night at a hotel in the city with a waterslide park so the boys could have some fun. It was a late night and I was up early for some strange reason. Definitely will be dragging tomorrow when I'm back at work!

I start P3 on Wednesday - Happy New Year to me! Have a shopping list of ingredients ready to go for breakfasts, still a little intimidated by it all though

Happy Monday!

Jo

I guess this is just me venting but... I just scanned a shake packet with the app MyFitnessPal, only to find they contain 20g carbs (all sugar!) each! No wonder the stupid things taste so good! For a second I felt like the chick on the movie Mean Girls when she realized the "diet" bars were actually weight gain bars and wanted to vomit. LOL. Sorry... I am definitely grabbing some "snack" sized ziploc bags and packaging some of the other shakes for the rest of the week.

Guess this is my reminder to read labels very carefully. I had ordered the Optifast 800 shakes thinking they were super low cal and foolishly made the assumption they were primarily protein, minimal carb. Boy was I wrong!

As a side note, the more time I spend on here reading, the less this ridiculous hunger bothers me. Reading about all of you and your success, seeing before/during/after photos, is all motivating and drives the craving for food away. Thank you all!
