Bottom line = zucchini (yellow or green) is a summer squash which is allowed.

Winter squash (butternut, acorn, spaghetti) is not.

I agree with Lisa...your coach is misinformed and should not be disappointed in a 5 lb loss your second week or any week for that matter. Our bodies are complex and you may be 100% and not lose anything or even gain. Hormones and other factors that go into weight loss are powerful.

Default The Great Squash Debate

I asked my coach about yellow squash and zucchini. She called IP and said that yellow squash (i.e., summer squash) was not IP approved. Doesn't mean I don't eat it...I just write down yellow zucchini. I find it a tad hard to believe that yellow squash is in the same category as some of the starchier squashes, which we all know isn't appropriate for this diet.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me that they look exactly alike except for the color, yet one is approved and one isn't. I've been eating summer squash since day 1, and haven't had any problems.

I think one of the issues is that IP is headquartered in a French-speaking part of Canada and things sometimes get lost in translation.

I know there were issues with the whole verbiage of cooked, uncooked, raw debate with animal protein.

All I know is I've lost over 100 lbs eating tons of yellow zucchini
