FrostyBobber, Yes, the thyroid is a temperamental thing. But congrats on the 3 kids (do you think there was a correlation). Glad you got that diagnosed. I hear you on the protein craving.

Wow, big milestone to get back into the 100's. Let me know when you get there and lets toss some balloons and confetti!

You can download my little Food Inventory Document (Food_Inventory_Share.doc) and my Weight Loss Tracking Spreadsheet (Weight_Loss_Share.xlsx)

at

https://mindstar.com/scratch/

Just click on the *.doc file and the *.xlsx file and just download to your computer (do a Save As)

Note you will need MSWord to edit the DOC file and MSExcel to edit the XLSX file

For the Excel Spreadsheet ... once the file opens just click on the little tab that says "Data" ... it will be near the bottom left hand corner of the document on your computer screen

The key things to ENTER are the correct date and your weight. Delete all my data. Then if you click on the WEIGHT CHART tab in the lower left hand corner. you will see your weight plotted. If you need to change the RANGE of data on the x-axis (Date) or y-axis (Weight) ... simply right mouse click on the numbers on the axis then select FORMAT AXIS from the menu ... then change the start and end points. Do the same things for the Date Axis.

If you enter your measurements, they will be plotted on the MEASUREMENTS CHART tab. You change the axes on that chart in the same way.

If you run into problems just ping me.

Your BMR is much lower than mine, that makes sense. Interesting how much it dropped for an extra year of age too.

Thanks

I will look at it when I get home... I can not access a lot of this stuff at work for some reason... The computer 'blocks' me... lol

As for the 3rd child thing.. .I have already told my girls 2 kids... lol They get the joke.. I didn't understand how anyone could be obese until my thyroid went out.. didn't even understand how someone could have a little pooch or muffin top.. guess I was lucky.. thyroid problems run in the family on my dads side.. didn't know that either until later.

My doctor told me for years to 'just get used to it'.. i.e. my being over weight.. I just stared at her.. like are you kidding?!? I have tried just about all the exercise programs and many diets... nothing has worked.. the funny, or not so funny, thing is that I could eat whatever I wanted after I got on the synthroid and not gain weight.. but I also couldn't lose weight. While my progress on IP isn't as amazing as it is for some here, its good for me.. I actually see losses.. no matter how small they are, at least I am losing!

I can't weight until I can start exercising again.. but I will so it doesn't slow my progress.. as I start to phase off the plan I will start to readd my workouts.. it drives me bonkers not working out, but I understand why.

I am amazed how good I feel on this diet. Not tired, grumpy, hardly ever 'crave' anything.. now when I walk in the mall, all the smells of pizza and fresh baked pretzels gets my tummy rumbling.. I miss bread. BUT, The potato rolls that can be made out of the IP potato puree are amazing. Same texture and conststency of bread.. so I am a happy camper! (AND they aren't even restricted!!!!)

Enough rambling from me... I am glad you started this conversation! Its good to meet you!

Good to meet you too! I totally get your past plight and your relief now.

OMG ... POTATO ROLLS from IP ... I have to figure out how to do that one!

((Although maybe it would be bad to have something that good available))

It make 3 rolls for me... Its just a packet of IP Potatoe Puree, 1 tsp of baking powder, and 1 egg.. its sticky but don't be put off... I spray down 3 muffin tins and divide the batter evenly.. (I beat the egg till frothy before I add it to the potato/baking powder blend).. I spray the muffin cups and tops (pre-baking) with crisco butter (its 0/0/0). I bake them at 395 for 7 -12 minutes... they puff up like rolls and aren't heavy.. light an fluffy! I cut them in half and make mini sandwiches from them.. its wonderful! Best of all they aren't restricted!

Just remember to subtract the egg from your protein for the day and I just save my IP packet from either breakfast or lunch if I am eating the 'sandwich' for dinner with my protein... I almost couldn't finish it.. I sliced steak for each bun..then had my veggies... the possibilities are endless! Just remember you are using one of your packets so you can't have it another time of day...
