Some people I know recommended getting the zip and after a while if I like it to trade up (most of my friends did after a year or so). I didn't need the sleep tracking one, others I know like it for that reason.

I don't really need the sleep tracking feature either.. in fact, it would probably only make me worry if I saw that my sleep pattern wasn't good. I generally already know when I'm not sleeping well, and what to do to try to solve it. Budget-wise, the Zip makes the most sense. I'm leaning that way. Now that we're emerging from the recent heat & humidity wave of the past week and I'm thinking about 'outside' exercise again, I'll make a decision about it. I just came back from a 1-hour walk with a friend (lovely big park and walking trail within a 10 min walk from my home) and it would be interesting to know how many steps I've already taken this morning.

I had the fitbit 1 and just lost it I am going today to buy a new one it is the best thing ever. I looked on line and thin I am going with the flex it has cool new wrist bands so it will be a nice change. It really helps me keep motivated to get my 10,000 steps in. I also have it linked with Spark People so whatever food, exercise I log in Spark to goes right to my fitbit stats and Spark People has all of the IP food in their app so easy to log food. I love love love my fit bit.

I personally think these types of devices are fantastic. I owned a gowear fit for three months and learned a lot. They are extremely useful in that they show you how small movements over the course of a day add up.

Having said that - one needs to recognize the limitations of these devices. They proclaim a high degree of accuracy but the reality is that they are all using base line formulas which may or may not be accurate for you so the total number of calories it says you're burning in a day may or may not be true.

Still - seeing how light activity and moving around adds up is really motivational to take the stairs - park a little further away at the grocery store - get up and move around every 15-20 minutes rather than sit at your desk for hours at a time.

You know what I find fascinating? When you look at the data - people who have lost weight burn fewer calories than those who never have. Most of us would like to think it is that we have slower metabolism but the data shows that our bodies are simply more efficient with our movement. We are simply less active. NEAT and SPA are lower. Whether it is adaptation in the face of lowered calories or just how we were it not clear.

Having a device like this allows you to get into the habit of moving around more - and speeding up weight loss or making maintinence easier.

Wild wire there is an app Spark People that you can link with your fitbit. It has all of the IP foods already loaded so it is easy to track food and since it links with fitbit whatever you track will automatically go right to your fitbit journal. I had to order the flex fitbit and have not got it yet lost my fitbit one 2 weeks ago and really miss it.

I have had a for about 9 months now and I love it. I wear it all the time. Originally bought the model prior to the one...actually wore it out, luckily I bought Geek Squad protection at Best Buy, and was able to upgrade to the Fitbit One for no charge. I'm definitely a fan. Added plus, it syncs with MyFitnessPal!!

I just got a fitbit one and fitbit aria scale for my birthday. I am so excited. So far it seems to be pretty accurate. I haven't mastered using it for the sleep mode yet.
I love that it is integrated with My Fitness Pal. I really like seeing the charts and reports. I know they will be helpful for the long run.

I have the zip and I really love mine too. I got it before I started this plan, and I wore it to the gym. It is very convenient, and I like how it synches to your computer as soon as you sit down. You can also keep a fitness journal online, and being a diabetic, it also allows me to track my blood sugars on the fitbit.com site.

I have the Fitbit One. Love it! I haven't used it for awhile. Time to charge it up. I love that you can challenge your friends on it. Also like that you can sync to My Fitness Pal.

My hubby's company bought fitbit ultras for the entire staff and their families and we are all totally in love. Hubby's ultra died recently so he bought himself a fitbit one. His company is always doing friendly competitions and we get discounts on our health insurance premiums, etc, thanks to the amount of steps he gets. (Hubby is a marathon runner who is always training for something or other, so his steps are insane.) As soon as they do a contest for weight loss, we will totally win that one. My steps aren't what everyone else's are at this stage, but boy is my weight loss exceptional! (Thanks, IP!)
