I left my 'bit on the bathroom sink this a.m. and was almost in a panic about it - until I remembered the gps feature in activities. I've used it for two of my walks (to work and along the riverwalk at lunch) and it still counts steps. Or more likely guesses at the steps based on mileage. Not that that is accurate - it has me walking on water part of the time and I definitely don't remember doing that!
Hi all,
After reading these posts about fitbit recently, I decided to get one. I purchased the fitbit zip and I have been using it for a few days now. I love it! I already walk a lot and this is so helpful to keep track of how much i am actually accomplishing. Yesterday was a 17,000 step day, woo hoo! Thanks to all who posted!
For those of you who can't live without your fitbit... even when at a fancy event... Tory Burch makes a gold bangle fitbit holder... looks awesome, lol. I just saw it in the September Elle Canada magazine.
Just bought my fitbit flex today. I'm already really excited to get started. This is literally day one of my journey to a healthier me. I've been overweight for a long time, but the scale hit 192 and there is NO WAY I am ever letting it hit 200. Unless I get pregnant sometime soon but barring that, ain't no way - ain't no how.
I have a fitbit flex. I was addicted to it at first, but then realized I did the same workout/routine every day so my stats were pretty boring. My husband has been using it recently to take on his mountain hikes which has been neat to see how many steps he takes up/down a mountain. He lost my small wristband though (he uses the large band and we just share one flex unit) so I just ordered a new hot pink one because I'm now using My Fitness Pal and would love to integrate the two. I also love that they have a bunch of colored bands available now. I wanted a Tory Burch band, but they are getting TERRIBLE reviews - peeling designs and clasps that don't close (lots of people have ended up losing the entire unit and having to replace it, yikes!).

I just got a fitbit yesterday, and I love it! It does everything for you, which is so nice. And it seems to be fairly accurate with activity. Every food I have tried to enter (even off brands like great value) are in the app as well. Highly recommend!
Yikes, darthkitten, after paying good money for a Tory Burch bracelet, I'd be pretty pissed if it didn't close properly and started peeling! Too bad it's crappy...
For those tracking on their fitbit- what is your average calorie deficit per day? Under 1000 or more than 1000?
That is something I have never even thought about tracking before. I just use the Fitbit to remind myself to keep moving. It is easy to not be conscious of especially on this diet where you don't have work out or even have a lot of movement to lose weight.

My weekly deficit is usually over 10,000 calories, so more than 1000/day. I figure -3,500 cal = -1 lb so that 10k figure should = -3lb/week -- which is just about what I've been averaging.
For what it's work, it's not intentional - I just walk a lot during an average work week.
Started in 2010 with a One until it died 18 months later, followed it with the Zip, upgraded later to Flex and hated it, resumed my Zip and lost it clipped to my shoe biking, and recently purchased another One. LOVE them.
