Good morning all. Congrats to everyone for their victories, including Spiritman's collar bones. I, too, have been dealing with breath issues and this weekend was reduced to tears over it as it was just too overwhelming (not overwhelmingly bad, but just hard to get a handle on [brushing, mouthwash, all the time!]) but I am better now. Had a conversation about it with the boyfriend (poor guy!) and he understands. Still.

All in all I am still working on keeping my carb count low, dealing with the inevitable hunger that I still feel especially in the evening. Last night I was dealing with some emotion stuff which was tricky because I didn't have my normal "go-to" (food) so I crawled into bed at 8:30 p.m. and watched 2 episodes of Arrested Development before drifting off to bed. I know it will all get easier and I do love the weight being removed so I know it is worth it.

I got some of the powered peanut butter that I add to my chocolate drinks before blending with ice. It makes a great Chocolat/peanut butter smoothy.

Is that the PB2 thing I've heard about? Maybe I should give it a try. Before IP, I lvoed making smoothies with a cup of fat free plain yogurt, ice, spinach, unsweetened cocoa powder, splenda, and a tbs of peanut butter.

Sarita, hang in there. I know some people don't agree you should chew gum on this diet, but I swear it was a saving grace sometimes. I HATE having bad breath and chewing on Trident, Orbitz, etc really helped with sweet cravings and the breath issue.

Also, when I was absolutely starving I would give myself a big bowl of veggie soup to fill my stomach and give me something to chew.

PB2 is a great product for smoothies! For the newer folks though, just remember it's not Phase 1 -safe, it's a P3/P4 item only.

Scorbett - Thanks for the reminder. I use it occasionally when I just have to have that PB flavor. Two tablespoons contain: Cal - 45; carbs-6; Protein-4; Fiber-1; Sugar-3

Morning everyone! Must have sniffed out the PB talk It's my weakness! I decided to take the leap into P2 this weekend. I think a few of us are in the same boat. For me, my losses have slowed a bit and I'd rather take a step back, enjoy the summer with hiking, biking, and a few races I'm gonna hop back on P1 at the end of August and make it to goal (hopefully) by Thanksgiving.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Spiritman - too funny! I have been trying to figure out just what crawled in my mouth and died! I think it was that skunk you licked!

Sarita - i have been chewing the cinnamon trident, as someone had suggested, and thank goodness for it. I am in sales and stand very close to my customers all day. I was so afraid they would smell my atrocious breath.

On a good note, i had WI number 2 today. I lost 2 lbs this week and 3 1/2 inches! I am down 10.5 lbs and 8.5 inches since the 13th! Thrilled!

Would love to try amberjules cauliflower pizza, but no one carries the veggie shreds where i live. i can only find the go veggies american cheese slices. Bummer.

I'm really trying to stick with it however only loosin 1 pound this week is a real downer.. Any advise on the above issues is appreciated:-))

Hi Camcolt,

I have not experienced any hair loss yet, this is day 14 for me. It doesn't happen to everyone. But I have been told and have read that hair loss/thinning is only temporary and that your hair will actually come back looking better than it did before. Hope that helps!

Camcolt, a lot of people on IP experience hair loss. It's a result of the sudden weight loss because it's a shock to your body. Hormones are definitely affected on this protocol. Some people use biotin vitamins for the hair loss. I have not experienced this so I don't take biotin, but I know lots of others here do. Also, there are a bunch of threads on here that specifically discuss the topic if you do a search.

Arrested Development!

I've only seen the first episode of Season 4 so far. Not wild about it, but I'm hoping that's just because it's setting up for the rest of the season.

I had my first IP nightmare last night. Something to do with me being back in highshcool and forgetting my homework, a million bite sized chocolates with their wrappers all over my desk, and glasses of pineapple juice.

Woke up VERY relieved that it was a dream and I've been good all week. No candy or juice for me!

Don't be discouraged with "only" 1 pound. I have had many of those but it all adds up.

Others touched upon the hormones being affected but are you getting your 1-2 teaspoons of oil in every day? Your body needs some fat and am wondering if that is affecting your lack of shiny hair.

I had an IP nightmare last night that I was at a family dinner and suddenly looked down and was in the middle of eating the most decadent meal! As if I had no ability to stop! I suddenly started spitting it out but kept finding myself taking bites of delicious chocolate truffles, and mashed potatoes and gravy! I couldn't control it and was totally panicked about explaining it to my coach! Isn't it funny the weird food we eat in our dreams?!

I assume it was due to my anxiety about my second weigh in. But i will tell you, those truffles were delicious!
