Default Adding Meat to a Packet

I know that the packets are considered your protein but was wondering if anyone knew if it would be all right to add meat to it. My thought was to have my evening "snack" packet with supper and just skip the snack. I figured the chili would probably be a little better with some hamburger, green pepper, and onions added to it.

I do that on occasion with the rotini, adding either meat or tuna and veggies to make a pasta salad, pasta with meatballs, etc.

BTW, the other thing I usually do on days like that is split my "real protein" between lunch and dinner so I don't get too hungry in the meantime from changing the timing of the snack (since I normally have my snack in the mid-afternoon).

Thanks for the reply.

I already split the meat but usually have the "snack" around 8pm. The thing is, so far, I haven't been hungry at all and simply eat the snack because it's part of the diet (although the caramel nut bar and SW Puffs do make nice snacks). Since most of my snacks are restricted I figured I couldn't have them any way since the chili is too so might as well skip one night.

My first WI is tomorrow morning so I just didn't want to do some major "boo-boo" and mess it up. I'll wait until week 2 to mess things up

There are lots of recipes that combine packets and meat like using BBQ ridges or dill zippers crushed to coat chicken or fish. I'm not a big fan of doing it myself because I find I'm hungry enough to need my snack before dinner (I eat late).

On occasion I'll mix 4-5oz of meat/protein with rotini. Although I've been told on here that its not proper protocol, my coach has reassured me its fine. My weightloss is on point and I feel great!
