Morning! My scale showed a 2 lbs weight gain this morning :0

I am not worried though because I am OP. I do weigh in tomorrow morning though.... Which is only 4 days since my last weigh in since we are going on vacation. My goal is to lose 10 lbs over vacation :)

I had to go to the dentist yesterday...had a quick filling done where a part of my previous filling fell out. It was so small that I didn't have to get it numbed. All in all, a great appointment in my opinion.

Nothing going on today...just going to get the kids' hair cuts and go to the grocery. I hope everyone has a fabulous OP day!

Good morning everybody!

Got up early to take my walk in the woods. My balance is way off lately, as any little bit of head congestion and it's bad, so I looked like a drunk walking down the trails. oh well, it was beautiful anyway.

I know how you all talk about anything here, including bodily functions... ;) I've been struggling with pain in my gut (just below the bra line to just below my belly button) that lays me out for hours at a time. I thought it was heartburn but my doctor said it's probably gas. I've never had it this painful. Trying to find a consistent pattern of what might cause it but don't know yet... makes you afraid to eat anything...

Hope you feel better, Chloe...

May you all have a wonderful end of the week and have some fun planned for the weekend!

Margaret

TGIF! Sending older kids off to Cody with grandparents for the weekend and keeping the little one home with me. Birthday party and swim dates for him. I have a huge paper to write today but I can't turn the news off. My heart breaks for those in Aurora Colorado. My prayers are for them today.

I am hoping for around a 4 pound loss on Monday. I have had a great week OP and starting to exercise a bit more. I hope everyone has a great OP weekend!

Good morning all, I had WI #8 last night..I am down 2.8 lbs...my coach said I should up my water intake and that would help me lose more.. I barely get 64 oz a day so i am going to shoot for 80oz and see how next weeks WI goes..hope everyone has a great day!

Hello. Looking for some support or info. I've been OP for 5 days. I've lost 2.5 lbs. Other people I know on the diet have lost double digit lbs the first week. What gives? I'm killing myself on this diet, starving, constant headache. I thought the results are supposed to blow your mind. My mind ain't blown. I've been miserable for 5 days for just 2.5 lbs? Maybe I shouldn't weigh everyday, but blah. This is depressing. My husband lost 8! 8 to my 2.5 and he had real ranch dressing on a salad one day!!!!

Hang in there! Your body is still detoxing. Have an extra packet if you are starving. Sea salt helps get rid of headaches. Don't weigh everyday if it gets to you. Make sure you're getting all of your water in. And don't compare your losses to your husband's men lose weight faster than women. Hang in there, you'll feel better soon.

Welcome to the forum! Hang in there, it WILL get better! The first week is always the hardest, due to all the adjustments your body has to make to this program. My first week I had major headaches on 3 different days, felt nauseous & light-headed, just out of it. And I'm sure they told you at the informational mtg that men always lose faster then women. Not fair, but the way it is. You're nearly through they worst part. In a day or so you'll feel like a new woman. Don't worry about the # on the scale; if it isn't what you want to see & you get upset about it, it actually works against you (stress = less weight loss). Know you're taking the right steps to get healthy. This program does work, as every person on these boards will attest to.

Good morning, everyone!

Wow! Bettrhalf! 4 more pounds! That's great!

Green, hmmm, those cookies sound good!

Chloe, hang in there. Hope you feel better very soon.

Wow - just heard about the movie theater shooting in CO. MY thoughts and prayers go out to those involved.

Had my coffee/vanilla pudding shake this morning with WF syrup. OMG, so good!!!

I'm thinking you guys were right - I was so hungry the other day. I think my body was busy burning fat. I'm hoping to be halfway at my weigh in Sunday. Might be tough though. At meetings all day today, going to a baseball game tonight, my daughters bday party tomorrow, and family over tomorrow night. Just like Vet said, FOCUS!!!!

Thanks for the pep talk Ladies. I'll pick myself up and keep going. Damn the scale. I know I'm putting in the work.

New Orleans Lady, it's only been 5 days and you are barely in ketosis yet. Hang in there. It gets better. Also, 2.8 pounds in 5 days? That's pretty amazing. I know you are impatient. I am also impatient for the weight to come off. Wait until the week is up and you are in ketosis. Personally, I just weigh myself once a week at the WI. It keeps me saner, but each person is different.

Relax and give it a chance to work - from one Louisianan to another....

As for me, I had a dream that I ate some rice and got knocked out of ketosis. Was happy to wake up and find it was a dream...

Hugs Margaret!! I wonder if your pain could be gallbladder?? I had very similar epigastric pain and it ended up being a huge gallstone! Take care!!

YOU ARE ROCKING YOUR FIRST WEEK!!!!! Hang in there, it gets better! My first week I barely lost and was soooo disappointed as everyone else had HUGE week one losses. But week 2 I lost 11 lbs!!!! Just keep on keeping on. This diet DOES work, some weeks you want lose some weeks you will. But keep going and in the end YOU WILL WIN!!! HUGS

Good Morning! Good to see everyone's posts, as always - you keep me inspired. WI#3 today, but have yet to get it done. I talked to DH about our 30th wedding anniversary coming up next year - and I should be much more in the mood to fly by that time (aka fit in the seat with a seat belt - no extender) and perhaps we should start planning that out.. Alaska first comes to mind, then perhaps Yellowstone, or maybe Hawaii (my niece is living there a few years due to her husband's work, and has invited all family to come visit - not all at once!). We did a Alaska cruise for the 20th Anniversary, and I seriously wouldn't mind doing that again for the 30th only and having less focus on the food but more on the activities. At our body size back then we didn't fit in with the excursions, or feel like dancing, but we fit in the dining tables well. Anyway that's a spark of a plan at any rate.

Good morning IPers!

It is a very sad day in Colorado. :( I live less than 10 miles from that theater. :(

WI#3 today. Down another 1.2#. A little constipated. Going to drink more plain water and make sure to get my EVOO in. Hopefully next week will be better, but I got to this spot last year and it took three months, not three weeks!

I am planning to be on Phase 1 through the end of August. No need to get hung up on a number now. I feel good!!!!

Hi everyone! Today is my first day of Ideal Protein. I'm very excited! I've been on every diet imaginable throughout my whole life. Most of them worked when I stuck to it, but as I've gotten older (I'm now 50), sometimes even strictly sticking to a diet hasn't resulted in any weight loss, then I get frustrated and quit. I'm sure hoping this is the one for me! I've seen everyone's great weight losses on this board and can't wait to be a part of it! I've got all of my IP packets and have a refrigerator stocked with lean proteins and vegetables. Looking forward to trying some of the great recipes posted on this board. I don't know what to try first. What were your first IP meals that you had on your first day?
