Thanks for your input scorbett! It's curious though, because I was reading the recent thread specifically on "cinnamon" and it appears many people for the most part are using it even though it has a low carb count so is not 0/0/0 and it has health benefits. I use cinnamon quite a bit so am wondering if or why cocoa powder would be that much different than cinnamon usage? Maybe it is just my wishful thinking :)

Have a great day!

Dry unsweetened cocoa powder is not generally used in tiny quantities, and it also has fat in it. Cinnamon (and most spices) have no fat at all, plus you will rarely use a full teaspoon of a spice in a single serving (maybe in a whole recipe that serves 4 or 6) - so if one teaspoon of cinnamon has 2g carbs, divide that by at least 4 since you will rarely use more than 1/4 tsp in a single serving. 0.5 carbs per serving is "technically" a 0 carb serving :)

Not to answer your question but you look amazing!

Oh ISOPure Low Carb Dutch Chocolate, how I've missed you! I finally ran out of the other "test drive" shakes I purchased, and was able to buy the big honkin 7.5 lb tub of the shake I love the most. Got it in the mail yesterday from Netrition.

ISOPure Low Carb Dutch Chocolate - Stats for 1 scoop:

Cal.......Fat...Cholest ..Sodium ..Potass.....Carb....Fiber..Sugar..NET Carb...Protein
105......0 ......2.5........160........375........1.5.......1 .......0.........0.5..........25

Alternate products are the exact ingredients as IP, so close, I think they are all the same manufacture just a different company label. Some of the advice might be correct, but if you really watch your labels, as I have found, many items are an exact match. I have been weeding out the IP products with alternatives and still have lost 3.5lbs or more a week. I actually went to the clinic and asked for the empty product boxes so I could compare the ingredients, then I found this website that sells IP products. Each item has a list of ingredients, so I use this site to compare the alternate ingredients. It is a lot of work, but financially so worth it!! Happy label reading!!!

Hey sweet- what's the website?

www.plainprotein.com sells actual IP products and there is a snapshot of the nutrition label with each product description.

NEW THREAD SINCE THIS ONE IS GETTING CLOSE TO 500 POSTS

Thank you so much for starting the new thread! I didn't even want to clutter it up with my "thanks!" I will be slowing incorporating alternatives soon, and probably completely switching by Christmas. I've tried taking notes of products and sources from this thread starting page 1, and will continue to, but it is frankly a bit overwhelming each time I come back and start over...

Good morning! I live in Canada and have done well on ip, but I am considering using alternatives to try and save some money. I have looked at the Kaizen 100% Whey isolate protein powder that we got at Costco. For 40g serving it has: 150 cal, .3g fat, 0 cholesterol, 50 mg sodium, 155 mg potassium, 1g carbs, 0 fibre and .5 sugar. It is sweetened with sucralose. Anyone have an opinion as to whether or not this would be a good alternative? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

How many grams of protein does it have per serving?
