I was on IP 100% for over a year. Lost 85 pounds. It was frustrating at times, long, and difficult, but rewarding.
The past couple months I went back on to re-lose what I put back on over the year I was in maintenance. This week, I tried something new, and unfortunately, I'm phasing off so I can't really take advantage of it.
I cut out the milk in my coffee. I was probably having too much before, it's true. Several cups a day, and I wasn't measuring that it all added up to one ounce. I was kind of stalled out, progress was very slow. But on Monday I started drinking my coffee without milk, and since then, I've been steadily losing 1/2 pound a day - in Phase 2.
Since I'm phasing off now, I can't really take advantage of this new discovery to its full advantage - but maybe other people out there can. Try it for a few days, especially if you're in a plateau.
Oh my word - Lisa - this is going to be a trial for me. I've always drank tea with milk and trying to do so without it, is like me trying to fly to the moon and back.
Tea without milk - I can't even conceive it. But I guess, I'll try - little by little I'll try. I guess I'll start with maybe: of the 4 cups of tea a day, try 1 w/out milk and 3 with. I'll try to phase it out.

Or you could always get some flavored tea... I've gotten a few different flavors to match what season we are in... But I don't really drink either... But if I do have coffee I put some of the torani syrups in it....
We all 'train' ourselves to eat or drink certain things. It's just getting used to it. Did anybody actually truly love the taste of alcohol when you first had it?! Nope, we did not! Beer tastes terrible......but we still love it! I was a 3 sugars and cream person.....went to sweetener and skim milk in coffee and nothing in tea when I joined ww a few years ago. Took awhile, but I preferred it that way. Now, if you put cream and sugar in my coffee.....I'll hurt you. Started green tea.....gross at first....now I love it! Started ideal protein and I use the vanilla drink in my coffee, not a fan the first week....now I quite enjoy it! We grow accustomed to a lot of different tastes. It's easy.
I've been having my coffee and tea with milk, but have had pitiful weight losses lately....so I will go without, and see if that helps.
Thanks for all the thoughts and encouragement, y'all!
Good luck dizzyjean. It sure as heck aint easy but at least it'll be worth it!

I couldn't do the coffee black and the 1oz of skim milk was too pitiful to even consider. I put 2 cups coffee in my breakfast smoothie with a chocolate RTD, spinach, and 1 stevia packet - and I LOVE IT. I never measured my coffee creamer before, and I'm pretty sure I was using anywhere from 6-8oz AT LEAST (I love the creamy coffee) over the course of my morning joe. Even if you "just use skim" you are still adding the same amount of sugar to your daily intake as if you would have used whole (not saying that's any better - since whole adds more fat & calories, which ar both IP no-nos). Just saying that the protocol avoids these simple sugars for a reason. It's really easy to add up all of these "little extras".
I have 1 coffee in the morning with my 1oz of milk and i have at least 2 cups of herbal teas a day (flavored).
When its warm out, i use the morning's left over coffee at night and make myself a nice ice coffee and use an extra 1oz of milk. I'm allowing myself to do this now as i'm about to start phase 3 but i never would've allowed it before goal.
