Default Your coffee habits :)

Hey girlies (and any guys out there), I want to hear about your coffee habits just for kicks and giggles.

I just started drinking coffee about a year ago. My mother drank bold dark dark roasts scalding hot and straight black. The few attempts that I "tried" coffee when nobody was looking resulted in complete disgust of the flavor and a burned tongue. I decided pretty quick that coffee wasn't my thing. Well, I got brave and experimented again...(actually, TMI, but I was "stopped up" and read that coffee helps in that particular issue, hahaha)...and got a coffee from MickeyD's one morning. I added a few sweet n' lows and found that the flavor was actually fairly tolerable. Next thing I know, I'm buying a cheap-o coffee maker and drinking a cup of coffee every morning.

I got married in December and my faaaavorite registry gift was my Keurig single-cup brewer. As a complete opposite from my mother's black bold roasts, I'm a froo froo coffee drinker. I like the flavored coffees (I am currently sipping cinnamon pastry flavored coffee and later I'll have chocolate glazed donut flavor, lol). So currently, I drink two cups of coffee a day. One in the morning and one as a treat after lunch. I drink them as ice coffees though, I still like hot coffee, but I am definitely on an ice coffee kick. Each mug has two sweeteners and 1/4 cup of skim milk. I consider it a blessing that I developed a taste for coffee after I started calorie counting because my flavored coffees with two sweeteners and skim milk is a delicious treat to me. I never got used to half and half or fancy 300cal machiattos or whatever else.

Sooo, just for fun, tell me about your coffee! How many cups do you drink? What do you put in it? Any particular brands/roasts/flavors that you prefer?

Oh ! I am a coffee drinker. I prefer to grind my own beans, French Roast is my favorite. I use decaf because caffeine is a diuretic . I have always drunk it black but just recently discovered the Coffeemate in various flavors at 35 calories a serving. No sugar just a little coffeemate. Making coffee is the first thing I do in the morning, when I get out of the shower my coffee is ready.

I LOVE my K-cup. I already love my job, but I bought a K-cup for the office and I can't wait to get in here in the morning to use it.

I like a bold roast with just a little bit of milk, I don't use sweetener but I have truvia if the mood strikes.

Just a tip too, once you get it go to Amazon.com to get more cups. They are SUPER cheap, my husband and I split what we get so we can cycle through flavors more often.

I love coffee!! I've been drinking it since I was 13 (did nothing to stunt my growth, let me tell you lol). I drink it every day & I love it with some skim milk

The cutest thing my boyfriend ever said to me had to do with coffee. I was looking at his shopping list for the new apartment he wants to move into after he's finished school - and a coffee maker was on the list. I teasingly pointed out that he doesn't drink coffee and he just smiled and went "Yeah..but you drink a lot " Totally made my day!

When I first started drinking coffee I used to have to get it iced and extremely light and extremely sweet. I then graduated to having hot light and sweets, and now if I go to Dunkin then I get a "medium regular". So just a little cream and a little sugar. I don't go there too often though, and I don't have coffee otherwise.

I remember when I first started drinking coffee my friend got me a 20 oz coffee with cream from Panera, but didn't put any sugar in it. I counted the empty sugar packets after I put them in, and it ended up that I put 18 packets in :/

Mmmm, coffee. You are making me run to my K-Cup maker now.

I drink 1-2 cups a day usually. I love the froo-froo favors, bold flavors, any flavors. I started drinking coffee when I was pretty young because my grandmother (who raised me) would have a pot of coffee brewing constantly (she drank coffee and water pretty much all day long).

I am also a coffee drinker and like the froo froo stuff. When I started my weight loss it was one of the first things I started cutting back on. I used to use sugar and a lot of coffee-mate creamer but I cut out the sugar and only use a little creamer now. I like dark roasts since I can brew less and make it last... oh and I am a hazelnut fiend. I limit myself to one cup these days though.

A travel mug every morning for the trip to work is a necessity.

2 tsp coffeemate + 1/4 tsp turbinado raw sugar = bliss

Oh, and the best wedding present we got (besides our electric wok) is a grind and brew thermal coffee maker. It grinds the beans fresh and because it's thermal it stays hot for quite a while without burning the flavour.

Since we got it we've developed a taste for dark roast that has totally uprooted our Tim Horton's addiction!

I have 1 mug a day. I buy whole beans and grind them up. I add in a shake of cinnamon in the coffee grounds and 1.5 tbs of creamer--the fake flavored stuff--usually vanilla. Mmmmm so good with the cinnamon. The rest of the day I drink only water and sometimes unsweet tea (not on a tea kick right now though), so it could be worse....

Before losing weight, I was drinking 1 cup a day but with 2 tbs of sugar plus 3 tbs of creamer! Yikes! I"m proud for weaning myself off it. I love my cup of coffee, it's my favorite part of the day. Now if I go to Starbucks, I just get plain coffee and add a little sugar/creamer. I can't do the fake sweetener. Saves my wallet too!

Definitely a coffee drinker! I usually have one K-cup a day (love the dark, bold roasts) with one splenda and a little skim milk. I love Starbucks' skinny vanilla lattes too!

Someone gave me a Keurig for Christmas & I hate the thing. Sorry, you k-cup lovers, but those single-packet things seem like a nefarious example of a company overpackaging & overpricing something that's fairly simple to make.

Also, at the same time, someone gave me a converter thingy that you can put in the Keurig, so you can use coffee you grind yourself from whole beans, but I am finding it doesn't work very well.

I drink it black & artificially sweetened. I like it dark-tasting, even burnt. Funny, before I started dieting, I drank it black -- for more than 20 years, I drank it black -- but afterward, because I limited myself on sugary stuff so much, I started sweetening my coffee to compensate. Same thing about chewing sugarfree gum. I never went for gum till I started watching my food intake & completely eliminated candy.

To get my coffee, I love to go to these places in the Village, Porto Rico Importing Company and McNulty's, which have old worn floors & big burlap sacks of coffee beans on the floor. Usually the clerk who shoves a scoop into the beans is young with interesting piercings & really adamant about what is good & very passionate about its preparation. I love when people care that much about something. I love how they lecture me while scooping & then get very particular about what machine I use in order to determine how they grind it (if I have it ground there).

At the office, for some reason they've installed a Dunkin Donuts machine, where you press a button & it makes coffee for you. The decaf from this machine is better than average. I drink it after lunch. Coffee is a signal to me that a meal is over. Like dessert used to be.

i started out in my teens drinking super sweet lattes and frappes.. graduated to doubleshot expressos with cream and sugar in college, and then when i was in my teacher preparation program, i would make my own coffee sweetned with splenda and with milk. one day i ran out of milk and just went for splenda, then i ran out of splenda...

and here i am today. i take my coffee black, and grind the good ol' don franciscos in my grinder at home.. ;]

I used to work at coffee shops (it was my first job ever) during the summers. So I've been drinking coffee since I was about 13 on a semi-regular basis. How much I drink depends. I can go months without it but then there are times when I have 2-3 cups a day. When I first started it had to be flavored and light and sweet (XX).

As i've dieted I started doing either just a flavored creamer (25 calories - 35 calories a serving) that are sweet enough no sugar is needed (how i prefer it really) or add in some splenda. Where I work right now were have a k-cup with free coffee and tea. So I drink either the hazelnut, mocha, or french vanilla with one splenda. But i agree the coffee is a little on the weak side-and would tast much better with cream. But I REFUSE to add the calories at this point. lol.

I LOVE coffee!! I cut back while pregnant (then I switch to decaf but just don't have it as often either) but since I'm not right now I have a cup every morning (just plain with a bit of milk, no sweetener). Sometimes I have some in the afternoon after lunch (actually when I'm working that happens everyday ).

I used to put sugar in my coffee but once I decided to go sugar/sweetener free I went to just milk (I actually prefer fat free half and half when available, though) and coffee. It took a couple of days of adjustment but now I actually like it so much more because I can appreciate good quality coffee much more than in the past (however, when I'm stuck with crappy coffee like at my parents house since they don't have a machine, I get really annoyed). My parents have a membership at cosco so while visiting them I bought a massive bag of Dunkin' Donuts Original Blend and I can't wait to go home and have a cup.

I drink about 2 to 4 cups a day. (But, that's one or two pots of my 4 cup coffee maker because my mugs fit two cups.) When I was a kid I always said I would never ever be a coffee drinker like my mom. But then I started having a cup with my mother-in-law during breakfast, and now I find I really miss it if I don't get the warm coffee taste in the morning. I'll have some in the afternoon as well once in a while (which is where the second pot comes from) but I generally use 1/2 caffeine coffee for that, and I've also started to like a cup or two of flavored decaf in the evening. I always need to be careful that I'm not ignoring water for coffee though, since coffee fills me up and makes me not want to drink.

I usually drink it with just a spoonful of non-dairy creamer, but once in a while I will add something sweet. A spoonful of Hilss Bros. flavored cappuccino mix is yummy, though calorific. Yesterday I bought a Torani sugar free hazelnut syrup and had it this morning in addition to the non-dairy creamer, very good!
