I made it tonight with less water, the consistency was thick, like a pudding. it was bigger (puffier) then normal but it was a little dryer then when I added more water. It shouldnt be flat like a bread. are you using a tsp of baking powder?

I think i'll try this tomorrow! Sounds like the best way to end the day! Nice warm chocolate yummie-ness oh yesssss!

So I made this thing twice now, and it's just been horribly dry... Tried it for 3 min the first time and 1 min the second time in the microwave but still drier than the Sahara desert.... Maybe less water? More water? More oil? I'll have to have the FeFe (fiance) try cooking it cus he is the better cook in our house. :)

I'm so glad this thread is here...I'm going to have mug cake for my birthday! I don't have any chocolate drink packets but I do have vanilla and cappuccino...either should work, right? I just got WF caramel syrup as well! Yay!

Thank you sooo much for this recipe. I am really not a big sweet eater, but when I had a meltdown last week, I decided to quit this diet. I paused and said "just eat something OP, and then decide." Whalllaaah ... here I am three days later still OP. The delish cake saved me.

It works with any drink mix. I've made chocolate, cappuccino, and piņa colada mug cakes. All were good.

I do this is 2 medium egg whites and banana pudding and walden farms chocolate sauce and it is like a thick crepe-yummy!

I had vanilla mug cake with WF caramel sauce for my birthday and it was great! My DH put a candle in it and it felt like all traditions were in tact!

I just made this with the following modifications:

1 chocolate drink pack
1/8 cup water
1 egg white
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar free hazelnut torani
no oil
no splenda

I put this in a larger mug after I had stirred it til smooth.
The mug went on a dinner plate.
In the microwave set to 3 minutes, BUT watched it closely, as the cake started to rise up over the rim I stopped the micro, gave it 2-3 seconds to deflate, started again until it rose up again, then stopped it. In my oven it took just over a minute 20 sec.

It was done. I would really watch the window when making this- don't just assume 3 minutes- I think this recipe should be on the less done side.

It was not overly sweet, some might prefer with the spenda, even though the torani did add sweetness.

I tried it with some WF caramel dip, but preferred it plain.

This is a nice treat that feels restricted though it is not:)
