How many of you on IP has reached goal and how long have you been maintaining it?

Today is day 6 for me and I feel like the journey is going to be a longggg one lol. I weigh in tomorrow for the first time and don't feel like I"ve lost although I Haven't cheated once, nor felt tempted to. I'm actually not feeling hungry on this diet. When I did Weight Watchers I would only get 20 pts a day which would equate to 1200 calories (I always felt hungry though). Now I consume with my three packets approx 400 calories plus my evening 8 ounce meat serving. Im estimating 7-800 calories a day. My point is I'm amazed at how I don't feel hungry. Guess the calories is coming from the right source!

You're not hungry because you are in ketosis and that's the beauty of low carbing. You really need to just take this one day at a time. I know for me, I have a lot of weight to loose, but it also took me 30 years to gain it too. When I started this plan back in September I told myself I could do anything for a year. Here I am 10 weeks later and almost 40 pounds lighter. Of course there are days that are challenging, like today. I took my son to the movies and he munched on popcorn the entire movie. But I made it through and I had a great dinner when I got home. Don't get too far ahead of yourself and enjoy your journey. Good luck tomorrow at WI.

I've been on IP for 10 weeks now and am down 34 pounds. I have 35 more to lose to goal. Where on other diets I was always hungry and would have weeks with no loss that is not a problem I have on IP. My daughter only had 25 to lose and she was at goal in only 8 weeks. I am never hungry and I know this time I will get it all off. I think each new week is easier than the last as you get use to your new way of eating and see the scale steadily moving down. Good luck at WI tomorrow..

I too was on WW and it took me a 50 weeks to lose 30lbs...On WW I spent the first 3 weeks starving... everyday I would complain to my husband how hungry I was. I've been on IP for 9 weeks and lost 27lbs. I have had a few hours of hunger between breakfast and lunch, but mostly I have days where I forget about eatting and get to it hours later than normal. I have 54lbs more to go. Good Luck on your weigh-in!!

thanks so much for responding. I am amazed at this diet. I've never done low carb before.

I haven't gone yet to my official weigh in, but I stepped on my home scale and after only 6 days it's saying I'm down 7.2 lbs

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! I'm sure the scale at my coach's office will be different by a couple of lbs, even a 5 lb loss in 6 days blows my mind.

I have no intention of stopping. Thanks again for the advice.

The first couple of weeks are hard, a little overwhelming, even. Then you find your groove. You know what you like and you eat it when you are supposed to. You quit looking at your chart because you know when you are supposed to eat and when to take your supplements. Your relationship with food changes. You eat to fulfill a requirement. It's a bonus when you really love it, but for me, it's not even necessary anymore. Before IP, I cooked outrageous meals that had to be the "best" recipe of that food we had ever eaten. It's just the way my family has always been.
After a few weeks, something just changes. IP works and it works consistently, if you stick to the plan. Some people lose slower than others, but they still lose. I don't think anyone following the plan correctly has not lost weight. I started August 1, 2011. I'm down over 50 lbs in about 4 months. It doesn't even seem like it's been that long that I've been eating this way. Time flies...

I have been on IP since middle of June and i have lost 57 lbs. I still have 54 to go. I find i have no cravings on this diet. I think because we have basically cut out all bad carbs that give you those cravings.
If you stay on plan, you will do great on this diet.

I started IP on June 1. I hit my goal on Nov. 2 and started Phase 2 at that point. I decided to go to goal on P1 because I had done a mini-phase off for a vacation (P2 for 1 week, P3 for 1 week and vacation for 2 weeks) and I knew from that experience that I would not lose on phases 2 & 3. This is not necessarily typical- so don't freak out! There are LOTS of people here who continue to lose through P3. It is just the way my body responded. And even though I didn't lose any pounds, my body was still shifting and I lost plenty of inches during that time. Everyone is different.

I would have been done 1 month earlier if we didn't have our vacation already planned before I started IP.

In total, it took me 6 months to fully start maintenance, which I started on Dec 1. Obviously I haven't been maintaining for very long, but I did manange to not gain any weight during P2 & P3 and I have been keeping track of my weight and I fluctuate between 133 and 134.

In total, I have lost:

36 pounds
40+ inches
4 clothing sizes (from a 12 to a 4)

Keep with it! The beginning can be difficult, but soon you will find yourself in a groove and you will be the one answering questions, not asking Good luck on your journey!

How did you do at your weight in? I am sure you did great. I did ww, jenny craig, the soup diet, atkins etc. I have found that IP is the best. I had to quit for a couple of months due to surgery. But your right, this diet you do not feel hungry or get the shakes like ww's. You just crave the jar of peanut butter and cakes...LOL
I will be here with you I have another 38 pounds to lose. Another secret do not weight yourself every day. Wait for your weight in with the doctor.
Good luck and good job.

Wow!!!! WTG!
I see you are another shorty. I almost went nuts on WW. When you are short the points are so low. Then they take away more for age as you get older. I was sticking to it with the 19 points it allowed me and was gaining 1/2 pound a week. In Dr Tran's book he said when you go on plans that are very low cal you can't get enough protein from the allowed food to lose weight.

Yes I'm very very short Pat lol. Thanks very much everyone. I have NEVER lost this much weight in this short space of time. While I'm sure it's just water weight mainly it gives me just what I needed to continue on program. I'm now only 25 lbs from goa
