Thank you very much, now on to another subject.....

CRAP.. ok people that have been here since we started this thread will know what I am talking about.
I just decided (I use that term loosely,) that I am not going to my big conference in December. You remember the one where I was going to walk in all excited weighing like 117 pounds lighter this year.

Cheap *******s won't pay for my departure change to come back 5 hours earlier. Now keep in mind we get paid for our teaching but we volunteer a ton of our time for the program too.
I have to take off work 5 hours early, and drive 40 miles to catch the plane, (actually my friend I walk with who is a Director at U of I, was going to take off early and drive me to the airport.) my wife has to take off work 5 hours early because I won't be there to watch the little one.
The wife can't go into work the next day for 8 hours because I won't be there to watch the little one, and then they can't cover the extra $60 for me to fly home 5 hours earlier.

Yet next weekend, when I finally have a free weekend I volunteered to go around to all the dealers in a 200 mile radius and drum up donations and prizes for this conference... also free time donated....
And they can't pay it forward a little.. wth... oh well I am pretty bummed.
And I know my wife isn't going to like the fact that I am not going because she knows it's important to me.
But it's way to selfish and I am giving up way to much to attend.
If the little guy was a little older and they were going with me, like maybe next year it would be different, but that's too much sacrifice for just me to attend.

O.k. had to rant about it, mainly because that was going to be one of my cool tada moments when I was able to walk in with all our instructors and office staff from across the state.

    Ok I am done
  • Wayward, that totally bites!
  • Wayward, I was just going to comment about how great and happy you looked in your latest photo. But you must have taken your picture before you got the crappy news. Well you still look great I'm sure but not nearly as happy.
How short sighted of whoever made this decision. Enthusiastic & knowledgeable volunteers are not easy to find, you think they would do this small thing to show you they appreciate your efforts. You will have to think of someplace nice to take the missus around Christmas, you both could get all guzzied up and make an entrance.

Sandy I actually laughed when I saw your post; sorry! People were listing glamorous and sexy things they wanted to do. I was thinking I didn't dare say I want to sail through a knee replcement. Then comes Sandy and says the same thing.
Seriously though, my mom has always been a very tiny woman. She needed a knee replacement at age 75 and was amazing how quickly she recovered. Now she is 87 and so wishes they had done the other knee at the same time
as she is having much pain in the "real" knee.
So in the future I know I will need a replacement because I have some pain now and my mom's surgeon used to call her his "liitle miracle" because you recover so much better when you are not carrying excess weight.

Sara, so glad to see you here, I am waiting to see how you like the products you picked. You will have to give reports as you try different things. I'm also wondering how long it will take to get there.

I hope my fellow Canadians have nice plans for Thanksgiving. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is turkey breast and cranberry sauce. this year it will be rhubarb sauce. I still have to remind myself that rhubarb is a veggie, it is such a nice treat.
  • Great pictures wayward, amazing accomplishment!!
    Sorry to hear the conference
  • Wow Wayward that totally sucks, you were so looking forward to that conference. Do y'all not have a friend that could watch the little one for the wife while you are away? Maybe y'all will come up with a way for you to go. If you get $60 of donations I would pay for my earlier departure!! they would never know...I know that is bad of me to say but its true. You bust your bum for them and get nothing extra. I have been in your shoes and it sucks bigtime. It will all work out. I have been on the beach all afternoon watching the classic cars roll by, the weather is beautiful and there was a nice breeze so no humidity which is great! That is where I'll be tomorrow as well!
  • Good morning everyone, its another beautiful day here on the Mississippi Gulfcoast. I hope everyone has an awesome day, My mom and brother along with his gf are on their way here!!!!...its gonna be a great weekend!! Staying totally 100% OP too!!!
  • Quote: Thank you Sandra, yeah he is pretty cute, keep at it.. your time will come.
You never know you may be like me and raising kids for 40 years lol.
You know what they say about raising kids? The first 50 years are the hardest!
  • Good morning everyone, not a great start for me.
I was supposed to be to work 30 minutes early today, so I could take off early and take the little one in to get a flu shot.
Ended up being 5 minutes late of my normal time.
Just didn't get up this morning apparently.
Not the best way to start off a Friday, especially when you aren't feeling 100%, still have a limited voice, and double classes tomorrow, what a long week this has been so far lol.

As for my conference Lisa, yeah I could have offered to pay the difference and they would have went for it, but I felt like I am giving up enough to go if they can't meet me halfway on it then it's just not worth it for me to go this year.
Sad thing is it's going to bite them in the butt next season.
It all comes down to not having it in the travel budget supposedly, well next season they will want me to fill in for a class or 2 and WHEN I say no they will have to pay over $300 in mileage and 2 nights for a hotel and a food allowance for 2 days to have someone come up from southern Idaho to fill the hole, so their $60 they were short for me will cost them $500 at least once next season.

When they ask me to go visit all the dealers in the area again next season they will have to find someone else, they were just really short sited this time.
Oh well I need to get over it.

Enough grumbling from me this morning.
Everyone try to have a positive day and I will do my best to turn this day around.

    Haha Sunny,

The main point for me for the newer people on this thread is I have one who is almost 19 and then I have a 7 month old too. So I literally will be raising boys for almost 40 years.

I can relate to that! I have a 19 year old in college, a 5 year old in kindergarten and a 10 month old in daycare! People think I'm a little off for having done that! I love it though. I find that being a parent is easier now than it was then. It will be easier once I lose the rest of my excess weight and have more energy!
  • lol.....at least its BOYS and NOT girls!!!....I hear they are harder...haha....HEY Wayward, Bellamack loss 4lbs!!!!! You better turn that grumpiness into happiness mister its FRIDAY and I know you have a long weekend. Better to be HAPPY than grumpy cuz then it will be even LONGER and you don't want that do ya???...haha
  • Yeah I agree with you on the girls being harder. I have two girls myself and am raising my nephew also. So currently I have a 19yr old boy, 8yr old girl, and 5 yr old girl. The boy is much much easier.
  • Bella lost 4? Sweet, did she post it on our thread and I missed it or forgot it?

I will do my best to be more positive.
My director for my motorcycle program just sent a request to me this morning to be the focus of the Instructor Profile for this month's newsletter... hmm what timing lol.
Originally they were going to do mine back in Feb. but then the wife went into the hospital with complications before my little guy was born so it got pushed back.
So writing why I teach etc. has lightened me up a little.

Stay focused everyone, and stay OP!!!
  • No, Bella didn't post it here she posted it in the daily thread. When I noticed she hadn't posted it here I figured I would tell ya!....her normal WI used to be at night so this week she did it in the morning so that made a huge difference I think. We will see next week!!

I just went get my check, I don't work at the airport every day so they don't see me but every two weeks and this guy hasn't been there when I go get my check so when I went today to get it he was there and I WISH I would of had my camera going....IF y'all could of seen his face when he saw me it was PRICELESS!....he said HOLY SH*T girl, look at you. I always said you were beautiful but DANG look at you now.....haha....I said thanks and turned 50 different colors of red....he is a hottie and single...haha....TOO cute for me...haha....NEVER know, I may be too "hot" for him soon......lmao...yea right!
