What a great thread - so glad it's come to the top!
My 3:
1: shop in "regular size" stores
2: buy new dive skin and SCUBA wet suit that are actually a ladies' size instead of mens 4XL.
3: keep my knees for a LONG time. (I have "crunchy" knees and I know the weight is hurting them - I'm sure they'll feel so much better once there is less stress on them).

Jelbeangrl 04-02-2012 06:22 PM

Love this thread!

1). Not wear a vest/long sleeve shirt everyday in the winter (to cover up various body parts)
2). To wear a cute swimsuit/tankini and get rid of the swimdress :)
3). To allow IP to really be...."My Last Diet"!!!

my three

I love this thread!!

1. to live life like a person who doesn't have to be prejudged on weight
2. work out on a regular basis and look good doing it!
3. show my family how good healthy can be and lead by example!

Tripmama 04-04-2012 01:29 AM

10. Yoga like I used to practice
11. Jump and spike a volleyball
12. Wear my favorite burnt orange pants, they are a twelve I believe

CassiR 04-04-2012 07:54 AM

My 3:
1. Be comfortable in my skin. I'd love to be able to "pull off" any type of outfit and not have to worry about a certain area I need to cover up.

2. Know more about nutrition and be able to give out advice and share my story.

3. Find an activity/sport that I love and keep with it.

lilone1357 04-04-2012 08:12 AM

1. To look good, be at goal and have confident at my Daughter’s wedding in Sept.
2. Wear cute and sexy clothes for a cruise I am going on in Jan 2013 and not moo-moo dresses.
3. Looking at pictures of me looking slimmer not fat !!!

Billster 04-04-2012 11:43 AM

- Enjoy having my picture taken again
- Be healthy enough to have children (then start the diet over but I’m sure it will be easier)
- Feel like myself again
- Shop in normal sized clothing stores
- Comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit
- Wear a dress (silly but I have not had one on in years as I could never find one that fits right)

afbrown2 02-26-2013 03:00 PM

Almost a year since the last post but since I'm new I guess its ok :carrot:

My 3 things would probably be:

1. Buy clothes I really want, not the clothes that fit
2. Stop using age as an excuse for not doing things when size was an issue, amusement park rides, sports, etc.
3. Be comfortable with the way I look and feel

leannekarella 02-26-2013 03:25 PM

Thanks for bumping this thread!

1-get my heart surgery so that I don't have to worry about dying from a blood clot.
2-be more comfortable in general. Sitting in movie theater seats, restaurant booths, clothes fitting properly.
3-not worry that I'm an embarrassment to my daughter. (She's never acted as if I am, and loves me unconditionally, but I still worry.)

Roo2 02-26-2013 03:33 PM

2. Do a half-marathon
3. To not feel so self conscious and judged

I did Tough Mudder last year and am doing another this summer (with less weighing me down!) You'll love it!

M35A2 02-26-2013 06:17 PM

1. Take my shirt off at the beach or water park (go to a water park!)

2. Not hate having my picture taken

3. Be as healthy as someone living with MS can be

#3 is already taking shape. Finally off BP meds for the 1st time in 5 years after only 3 weeks on IP!

ragdoll74 02-26-2013 06:27 PM

So glad this was bumped. Some of these made me smile and others brought tears to my eyes. They hit really close to home.

itzconni3 02-26-2013 07:07 PM

1. shop in a "regular" store and not a plus size store (I have not done this since I was 18)
2. enjoy having my picture taken, I always take the photos so I am never in them
3. go hiking with my husband and not be worn out in an hour

lcheech 02-26-2013 07:37 PM

1) Wear the size 6 jeans that are sitting in the back of my closet, that I haven't been able to wear in the past 6 years.
2) Look smokin' hot in a bikini ;)
3) Walk all over the place with my head held high, full of confidence.

jennybee 02-26-2013 07:43 PM

1. Fit into my old dresses (should happen in 10 pounds or so)
2. Be one of those active people and go hiking, rock-climbing, etc regularly
3. Wear a bikini without feeling self-conscious!

SFNinerGirl 02-26-2013 08:15 PM

Some of you ladies bring up such a good point here that I didn't touch on because I didn't feel like it was a "want to do"...

I would love to not have my weight be the target of insults. When I got into arguments with people, I would immediately be put down by my weight because they thought it would be the most hurtful thing they could attack. I would love to not be able to give people that power anymore. People can say some extremely hurtful things when one is overweight, and I have had my share of them throughout the years.

learning to fly 02-26-2013 10:15 PM

This is such a nice thread, I'm glad someone bumped it.

1. Be able to bend down and tie my shoelaces without feeling like my stomach is being completely squished and being unable to breathe until I stand up again.

2.Be able to cross my legs and have my leg stay comfortably hanging over instead of slide right back down.

3. Look at my photo or my reflection in a full-length mirror and not be grossed out and shocked by how I look like.

4. Related to #3: not have an extra chin under my chin.

Mother of the Groom 02-27-2013 12:10 AM

A great post to boost our motivation!

1. To be healthy and able to play with my grandchildren(none yet, hopefully soon lol) in the future.
2. To be able to pick clothes I like not just whatever fits.
3. To be able to accomplish some things on my bucket list (zip line with my daughter, sky dive)

ladylunk 02-27-2013 12:37 AM

1. Enjoy beach/pool with kids, meaning, I would like to wear a bathing suit comfortably.
2. Wear pants without having them either fall under my stomach bulge and therefore yanking up constantly or if they are the no zipper pull up strechy kind (or even panty hose for that matter) not have them rolllll back down under belly when I sit.
3. Get physically stronger.

kileymed13 02-27-2013 07:56 AM

Such a great thread to bump!!!

1. Complete my first Spartan Race (coming up in August)

2. Feel confident about having my picture taken

3. Shop in any store without having to worry if the clothes will fit

My thoughts exactly, Ragdoll :)

Here are my three goals that Ideal Protein will help me achieve:

1. To wear clothes that I have never been able to wear (tops/dresses sans sleeves, a sari without fat rolls coming out, a 2-piece swim suit)

2. To not dread the scale at home or especially the doctor's office. Then have the reality of my weight depress me the rest of the day, leading to overeating. Shame cycle!

3. To be able to do all the yoga I want (at home, on a retreat, or in a class) and not be inhibited by extra fat, weak muscle tone and low energy. For that matter, feel comfortable enough to go on a yoga retreat. I won't now because I'm afraid I will be the fattest one there and unable to keep up.

Here's to the journey!

I totally get that. Growing up in the 1980s as an overweight child, my sister and others used to target my weight all the time and I always left the arguments destroyed and feeling suicidal. Sometimes I look back and I am amazed I made it through middle school.

The sad thing is, I weighed 125-130 pounds in middle school (my mom took me to weight watchers and I got down before I started high school and maintained until my early 20s) and I think I was one of 3 overweight children in school at the time, so I really stood out. Now, I look at children and see they are 200-300 pounds and there are way more than 3 per school. I'm glad the nation is finally addressing the issues surrounding childhood obesity because as I am proof, it usually leads to adult obesity.

I am determined to conquer this. I know it is going to be a battle the rest of my life, but it is so worth it!

Glover girl 02-27-2013 10:43 AM

I want to be able to cross my legs again
Wear regular sized clothes
Be healthy, no hypertension, asthma or diabetes!

SylviesGirl 02-27-2013 10:56 AM

I want everything everyone has said above, AND:

1. I don't want my weight to be the first thing my doctor brings up whenever I express a problem or concern to him/her!

2. I want to ride bikes with my family.

3. I want to be able to buy clothes out of the fun, funky vintage clothing stores around here. I would love to actually reflect my personal style in my clothing.

What a great thread ~

Desafinado 02-27-2013 11:08 AM

1. Make my ex-husband drool over my new fabulousness
2. Buy all the cute summer dresses I see that I haven't been able to wear before now. :carrot:

3. Ride my bike to work regularly

MSDEEDEE23 02-27-2013 05:06 PM

1. Wear a sleeveless shirt/tank top
2. Tuck my shirt in a nice pair of jeans
3. Take a photo that I "really" like.

animallover 02-27-2013 07:15 PM

What a great thread!

Three things I want to do... there are so many, but here's my top 3:
1. Shop in regular stores! To be able to shop in any store and buy the cute, stylish things I want, instead of settling for whatever I can find to fit at the big girl store.
2. Wear shorts, tank tops and sun dresses in the summer.
3. To not feel judged and/or invisible any more.

50harvest 02-27-2013 08:26 PM

1) I can't wait to return to my Bikram yoga class & see if any poses are easier for me.
2) Can't wait to hear my doctor say I no longer need blood pressure medicine.
3) Can't wait to wear a belt around a tunic type dress, just for decoration.:D

Addy 02-27-2013 08:51 PM

Love this thread.

Top 3
1) feel comfortable in a plane seat, theater, rides. (and so on)
2) shop for clothes to show me vs. wearing what I think hides the most
3) never have to do this again.. maintain for good!

ktgal 02-27-2013 10:00 PM

What a great thread!

So here goes...

1) Have a baby and then another! (before I'm 35)
2) Know that my weight will not effect my health!
3) Run a marathon and look good doing it! :)

Just a little tid bit from my fertility specialist for any of you are also trying to conceive; for every BMI point over 30 you decrease your chances of conceiving by 4%!
