My teenage daughter told me yesterday she was sick of me going out looking like a poor person in someone else's clothes (I've lost 41lbs they don't fit well anymore!), so I went to buy 2 outfits and a few shirts for right now.

She went with me to pick out my clothes... I grabbed 1 size down, didn't fit, 2 sizes down, didn't fit. The jeans I ended up getting were 3 sizes smaller than what I wore 7 weeks ago.

I have got tons of compliments today, even one of my dh's friends told me this morning (4 times!!!!!) that I look great.

Wearing clothes that fit take at least another 10lbs off visually! For those interested GAP (online only) is having a 48 hr sale. 30% off your entire order!!! I ordered 3 new pairs of pants for work in a 10L. I have two 12Ts right now that are loose, and the tall were way too long! I couldn't believe it. That's never been a problem for me. These new ones should fit in time for cooler weather. It's 80s here (90 yesterday!) still.

Well went for my WI today NSV so I'm bummed.

The weather today is cold and rainy. Had a busy weekend now getting ready to have the mother in law for dinner.

I'm guessing low - no loss? NSV stands for non-scale victory, BTW. Those are the good things we share outside of pounds lost.

Wow down to 38 degrees last night. Good thing I have hot flashes to keep me warm :-) Little dizzy today no sure why. Have been 100% OP and faithful with salt and vitamins. Hmmm. Good thing my hands aren't shaky it might scare my patients:-) Still feeling overall good

Put a little extra salt in today. lick it straight off of your palm then drink some water. I do that when I get dizzy and it seems to help.

We don't get bummed on here!!....no loss is GOOD you didn't gain right? Your body is just catching up to the losses you have had. Next week it will come off. Don't know about the veggie threads have never heard of them

I am dusting myself off dieting wise, but from the inside, there is no way to dust myself off... I feel so bad, so ashamed and like a failure! Damn... I wish I had more control

I really hope you are done "shoulding" on yourself and are ready to press on to your goal. I, too, spent most of my adult life feeling shame & remorse until I learned a new way to live. I can do anything for just five minutes and that's how I put together 24-hour, OP days, "Just for this five minutes, I'm not going to eat that... just for this five minutes I will drink that glass of water instead of eating." It works!

I am still here... Tomorrow I will start Phase 3. Yeah pretty much just scared to death. Now is where I live in fear of the scale instead of looking forward to getting on it each day and watching it drop. I feel like this is such a big change to be going out of ketosis on purpose just doesn't feel right just yet. Will have weigh in tomorrow (after a big breakfast??! eeeek) Sort of not sure where I fit in around here because I know nobody on Phase 1 wants to hear about ph3 and 4 so I will have to make myself known on the experienced and maintainers thread eventually I suppose. I thank you all for being here on this part of my journey with so many awesome tips/recipes/encouragement! My life has truly changed and I still can't wrap my head around it most of the time. I also did some shopping this weekend and I am trying things I have never tried before. Leggings, skinny jeans?! what?! these are things I wouldn't have given a second look and now I can wear them. I am now smaller than I have ever been in my life. Today I put on the dress I wore for my senior photos and it was too big. Wow. I will definitely be in touch as I continue onwards. Will post my (~final~) loss on the halloween challenge tomorrow night sometime :( but really I am :) Have a great fall day all.

Good morning! Hope everyone's weekend went well. I survived a trip to a Polish bakery/deli/smokehouse. There was babkas, krusinki, kielbasa, pierogies, etc. They smoke all of the meats right there and the smell was intoxicatingly yummy. Didn't try any of the sweet stuff but I did have a small bite of kielbasa...which probably doesn't have a whole lot of carbs but lots of fat and processed stuff, so I kept it to one little bite and that was enough. Hope it doesn't screw me up too bad, I figured lots of water should help flush out any extra fat and sodium.
Oh and pretty awesome NSV - I could get my old size 6 lucky's (jeans) on! They could button and zip, but I couldn't really breath or sit...another few weeks though and they'll be great. They probably aren't a true size 6 anymore because they are old and worn and stretched out, but they were my favorites. and I am thrilled! :) Have a great monday everyone!

Oy, that would be strong of you. My husband has all of his game meat processed into such yummy things like summer sausage, sticks, and fry sausage, sometimes I just wish they came with nutritional labels at least but nope can't have em!

Good morning everyone,

Glad to hear from you all.

This weekend, I just discovered that I fit in a size 14, a tight fit, nevertheless a fit :) I was so happy about it.

What I was not happy about though is how my eating habits gets so bad during the weekend, I am still struggling, every weekend, I take my packages and I am prepared mentally to resist all temptations, unfortunately, I am not! I feel so stupid as of why, there is no reason! seriously, I should be able to do it... now I am paying the price of piling the weight back (gained 5 pounds :( ) and I will be doing bootcamp this week. I feel so bad like I want to cry, like I want a button I can push on to take me back in time to erase what I did... God! I am angry at myself.

Well no matter what everyone says you have to find it within yourself because truly that is who you have to answer to when it is all said and done! GOOD LUCK! I think the fact that you admit it on the thread is good for you.

That's awesome you're in a 14 now!! Congrats!!! I'm between a 16 (to big) and 14 (to tight) now so I know how much fun it is to change a size!

As for the weekends, what's different about them that you can't seem to follow through on your plans? Are you out of the house a lot, or do plans come up unexpectedly? Are you bored and trying to fill up your time?

IIWY I would probably set a goal and if I stay 100% OP I get a small treat (new lipstick, nail polish, magazine). And then after that weekend reflect on how much better it felt to NOT cheat and stay accountable. Write those feelings down to go back to when you feel the urge to cheat again. Also, you're probably kicking yourself out of ketosis over the weekend when you're cheating so the beginning of your weeks are more miserable than they need to be. That means that by the time you're back in ketosis you're probably only getting 2-3 days of dieting in before the next weekend cheat. Just imagine how awesome your numbers could look if you stayed 100% OP even just 1 week.

It's amazing that she survived being thrown from a vehicle at high speed with only a few broken bones. She is one lucky lady. I really appreciate all of you and your support!

That's amazing. I'm so glad she's alright!

Yesterday, I had family in town and we were working on building out our basement (amonst other house projects) and I ended up using regular ranch dressing on my salad, I only drank 1 IP drink and I had some sugar free jello.

I feel like I cheated fairly bad (I'm still in phase 1) and I'm not sure why I reverted back to allowing my brain to let me slip with things 'here and there'.

Anyone else have bad days like this? Do you just start over the next day?

If I were in that position I would be careful to not allow myself to think "Well I cheated, this meal/day/week is blown, so I might as well eat whatever" and let it spiral, but since yesterday is done I would just start fresh today and recommit! You can do it!

Good morning,

Fall is really here and i love it. Walked my dog yesterday for about 30 minutes and i had so much energy!

I got the new mango drinks saturday and LOVE them! My question is, since they're so high in carbs (9g), do you try to have lower carb products the days you have them or you just consider them like any other IP products.

I got 5 of them for my lunches all week before realizing how high they were and i'm supposed to have my last restricted tonight and i'm not sure what to do! Anyone have them everyday? And with restricted?

I personally haven't done them everyday. I LOVE them, but since they're more expensive at my clinic I've only ever bought 2. I was kind of surprised at the carb count as well, but my coach assured me they were non restricted and we could treat them as such.

I had to go back to phase 1 to lose that 2 lbs, 8-9 more to go!!!

Pauley 10-03-2011 03:25 PM

Thank you for the nice compliments on my photos. This is the only way I can really see the difference. Photos make such an impact. I am going to suggest them to my coach, as mentioned here.

Thanks for the gap sale info! I am wearing gap trousers today in a size 12 and they are getting pretty saggy. Heading on-line to shop now!

Wildflower just because you are in difference phases doesn't mean you can't come hang out in here. We all will have to go through those phases as well so you can share :)

Paint Lady 10-03-2011 03:35 PM

I wish everyone going on to phase 3 and 4 would share. Maybe the transitioners wouldn't feel so scared if we knew a little more about what happens in those phases. I am somewhat baffled by phases 3 and 4 and because it's not mentioned so much on the daily thread, I am not forced to hear about it. Not sure that's such a good thing really. I don't feel "experienced" and am not a maintainer, so I don't usually venture into the other threads.

That is how I am but when the threads I usually read are caught up I will venture over to those threads. I don't consider myself experienced yet :)
