Read the book by Dr. Tran Tien Chanh and now I am totally confused
Hello,
Over the weekend, I read most of the book and now I am totally confused about some contradictory stuff.
In the book, it says not to eat eggs, while on my sheet for phase 1, it says that we can have 2 eggs for dinner.
In the book, it says that we can eat unlimited vegetables, while on the sheet it says that it should be 2 cups for lunch and 2 cups for dinner.
In the book, it says that we can eat white meat for dinner, whereas on the sheet almost any kind of meat is allowed as long as it is lean (I like beef, steak, hamburger etc.).
So, now I am confused, I mean he is the doctor who invented this diet, but maybe the protocol changed a little bit after the book was written !

Not sure.
Anybody knows?
You have to remember the book was written a while ago. Like every diet program things get adjusted and changed and fixed. Follow what the Phase sheets say and take the book for a reference as to what this diet is all about and the science behind it.

I totally agree. The program is Ideal Protein. Stick to the IP sheets and you will lose. Dr. Tran's book is helpful for theory, but for practice just stick to the sheet.
there is a big difference here. Dr Tran Tien Chanh designed his diet first. It was designed using mostly whole food and not using the leanest animal proteins possible plus high quality protein powder. It was designed in France and additives/supplements/sweeteners were different (as permitted by law).
He COOPERATED in the developement of Ideal Protein (along with Matol and another diet) with the founder of Ideal Protein (Olivier Ben LouLou).
Ideal Protein and Dr Tran's diet are SIMILAR they are not the same and, yes, he is involved in both.
This distinction may help clear up the question of why it might be different. The Dr's diet is still available, offered by his sister and him out of his Paris office. A variant, multiple actually, is offered in the USA and Canada which adhere to the requirements of the food and drug authorities in those countries. Also, the package diet programs are different in that they try to make things more convenient.
