All, thanks for the newbie welcome. This week has been insane but I think I survived. I started the diet Tues, had my first "checkup/weighin" on Thurs and it said I'd lost 2 lbs. I'm not going off of that too much since it could be many things (water, although I feel like I'm floating) but it was nice to see. My "coach" is a doctor who actually used to be my GYN and she has me come in weekly, so I'll be back next Thurs and will definitely know more.

Although yesterday was almost a big failure. School starts on the 23rd, and I had to help out at our middle school from 11-3:30 with our PTA doing shirt etc sales and membership sales. I didn't drink the water during the day I usually did, and eating lunch started at home at 10:45, and finished around 2pm on a break at the school. I can start having restricted foods on Monday, but I still wonder how I'm going to do lunch quickly....

Sunday we are having a "luncheon" for church leaders, so we discussed how to modify the meal, and I got permission to bring a bar just in case there is no possible way to modify, say a Subway sandwich and get enough food. I'm praying for a large salad!

I thank everyone who ever put up a recipe. I've tried out 5 different ones with success! That is definitely helping me (plus the WF items I ordered arrived) and even my husband is eating the same foods as I am--just not doing the IP portion.

This got long. Thanks again and I'll start moving around the overall forum some more.

I have the song stuck in my head "Carry on my Wayward son, they'll peace when you are ......

I shouldn't look at peoples screen names they always evoke some funny person, place or thing ( or in this case a song)

Got a great Farmers Market about 40 mins. away. It is called the Windmill in Penn Yann NY (Keuka Lake). The only problem is besides "good" for ya stuff they have alot of "goodies". The Amish & Mennonites have the best baked goods, I can smell the cinnamon buns and thats all I'm gonna do, SMELL! off to get some fresh veggies, leeks, kale, squash, mmmm. Can't wait to eat fruit. NY has the best apples MacIntosh, when I live in NC for a few years for work, I had everyone hooked on them, would bring a trunk load back for everyone. Does anyone else really, really miss fruit. I dream about Greek Yogurt & Fruit. I think it's way better than dreaming about pizza and ice-cream, although a cheesecake dream rears it's ugly head occasionally. lol. Have a great day :)

Absolutely. I was a big fruit eater. My fave breakfast or snack was 1 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt + 1 cup frozen mixed berries and agave or honey drizzled on top. I miss it. A lot. I have 3 little kids and I spent a good part of my day chopping up fruit for them - yesterday, I cut up an entire 1/2 watermelon. The day before it was cantaloupe. We have a constant supply of grapes, peaches, pears, apples etc. It is really hard to pass it by, especially when its good for you (and containss fiber, which my body really misses). I could care less about pizza or chips or anything like that.

Things I miss: nonfat or soy lattes, greek nonfat yogurt, fruit and more fruit, large quantities of cooked spinach, green bean stir fry. Sigh. Oh, but ice cream. Yes, I miss my slow churn. I love it soooooooo. Ice Cream and Peanut butter and Wine - my 3 biggest weaknesses! Ok, off that boat and onto the OP IP boat. Getting ready for a bike ride. Let's hope I don't wipe out today =)

Man oh man..im having such a hard day..im just craving like mad today for some reason.. i just want everything salty and everything sweet!!!!! perhaps TOM is around the corner or something..im just craving like mad...One thing i was craving for awhile was sliced tomato with salt! i dont know why that..but just wanted it so bad..I dont know how im going to survive through this evening in the coffee shop..with chocolate sauces and caramal sauces and whip cream around!!!!! ive done it before..but man ..today feels like a bad day in general...i hope this feeling passes..cause i want to stay on plan..im staying out of the kitchen today...i think its for my best..

Hope everyone else is doing good..

Coliep if you miss ice cream..you should take a can of sugar free cola and add a little 1/2 and 1/2 in it..it will taste like your having a coke float that ice cream melted in...in works good for dessert cravings..

Sadly my own advice wont help as i have no cream...got rid of it..to try and help myself..

and it does suck on days like these when you want to eat....that the scale doesnt move..I just got to convince myself that it will move if i stay completely on plan and at least it will get me through another day..

wuv2bloved 08-20-2011 05:17 PM

why don't you eat the tomato and salt....that is something you CAN eat!!

Porthardygurl 08-20-2011 06:45 PM

wuv2bloved 08-20-2011 07:01 PM

Did you bring any veggies with you? shake? bar? Eat that tomato with Sea salt, you were craving that

coliep 08-20-2011 08:35 PM

Lol yes the tomato with salt you can have. The cream? Not so much, but thanks for the thought! Sorry the cravings are getting you =( Be strong. Remember, you really want that cheat in the future -- the one you bargained for!

chellebee72 08-20-2011 08:38 PM

Stay strong! You can do it! I have learned to have a bar or packet in my purse or bag @ all times. To have that is better than indulging in something not allowable! You can do it!

I have those moments. I admit that I have gave in a few times too and felt not so good afterwords. Save yourself from those crappy feelings!

I really enjoyed myself today. I have always made jam just before school starts. Hubby likes the jam I make because it is not as sugary as the stuff you buy.
So I made my favs, blueberry jam and peach marmalade. I had some blueberries left so made some huge blueberry muffins. Hubby has no weight problems and enjoys all these. But what was exciting to me was I had absolutely no desire to even taste anything.
I may be losing slowly but hope I am training my body about how to eat.

Porthardygurl 08-20-2011 11:51 PM

Well i did it! I ate my slice of tomato with sea salt and then i just stayed out of the kitchen and didnt give in! Yay! ive surpassed that one today!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Male or female doesn't matter - we're all here to support each other. My Hubby is on IP has lost 45 pounds - but he's not the type to look on the net for support. I'm down 60 pounds and just got back from doing training in Vegas, missed the board so much and tried my best to stay OP even with the supplied meals. What you're doing is working - keep it up! No worries about gender you'll always find us here to help!
