Dr. Jekyll, Mrs. Hyde, and a Vegetable

These are the sequence of what I am over the time of each day.

Every morning, I get a bit lightheaded, which seems to have some ennobling quality, making me feel meditative and optimistic.

Every afternoon, it goes downhill. About five, I turn into a snappy fire-breathing monster. Only the first bite of dinner can placate this monster.

After dinner, I simply vegetate until bedtime, too full to do anything.

Do I have any hope of regaining peace with myself that lasts throughout the day?

Loving the miracle noodles. Using them to make stire fry's more interesting. I use WF Asian dressing as the sauce with some added soy sauce. My husband loves it. And the noodles are even better the next day after they've soaked up the sauce. In a pinch I even put them in an order of Pho noodle soup to go (ordered without the noodles). Ran home and dumped rinsed miracle noodles in the Pho.

I think that looks good. I have similar breakfasts most days except I have greek yogurt (high protein!) instead of the eggs and cheese. Good luck. You've done great on IP, so I'm sure you'll do fine.

I'm new to the forum (and a guy - hope that is ok) and just weighed in today for first time. I started on Monday, but had to weigh today in order to get my food for next week and the July 4th holiday. Anyway - I lost 5 lbs in 5 days and lost 2 inches off my waist! I started at 283 and am now at 278!

Welcome! There are a number of guys on the forum. As someone said recently, the brave ones post. The others lurk.

Great start in week 1!

Last night I had a NSV, my boys had friends over and they were cooking all sorts of stuff and smelling delicious. I was in my room and could smell it so I walked into the kitchen saw what I was smelling, bacon(one of my favorites), biscuits and hot chocolate chip cookies. One of the girls didn't know I couldn't have anything so she asked and I said no thanks, I am going to have my pudding. Went to the fridge, got my pudding came back to my room and ate it and enjoyed every bite of it. One of my son's came in and said Mom I am proud of you for not even being tempted by the bacon. I know how much you like it. I told him it was ok, I have this under control and he said yea mom you sure do!

Well, here goes day one. I got the vanilla drinks, cheese ridges, and lemon bars. The vanilla drink was awesome. I had wished there was more of it, haha. I also had a question...my coach told me its necessary to get Omega 3, multi-vitamin, and cal-mag so i decided to get them somewhere else cheaper. can someone who uses the ip natura vitamins tell me how many mgs are in each? So i can get vitamins that are as close as possible?
Already wanna try my cheese ridges! gotta wait till 1 haha

I haven't seen 150-anything since high school...
I am so happy for you that is great. You will have to show us your new highlights later. Have a great day.

Yesterday I got the information on the cleanse, and I am very allergic to the ingredients!
Has anyone done an alternative cleanse that would work just as well? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
have you tried the sea salt and water cleanse? It is in one of the stickys I think the FAQ one. I believe it is a litre of water and sea salt and you have to drink the whole thing in one sitting if you go too slow the gag reflexs starts in and in about 15 - 30 minutes it starts working so don't go too far from the bathroom. Let me know it it works for you

All of that aside, I'm doing ok. I've been tired a lot lately, and kind of lethargic. Not sure what that's about. I am loving what I see in the mirror, though. I hit Old Navy for some cheap casual summer wear last night. I'm into a large for most things, which is nice because 3 months ago it would have been xxl or xl. I bought a pair of shorts- normal ones, not bermuda shorts. I haven't really worn shorts outside of the yard in years. I don't love the dimples and spider veins on my legs, but overall, I'm feeling ok with going in public with shorts on. That's huge for me.

I'm trying to imagine what would happen if I went for my 150 goal. Judging by how I look and feel right now, it seems too low. If I get to 170, I think I'll be very happy, but I'm not going to change anything just yet. I'll ride it out one lb at a time.
whoosh coming your way... do one thing for me Cindy don't weigh yourself for one day... you will be surprised... I am glad you were able to buy some nice summer stuff. I keep putting it off. I loved my old shorts and haven't found replacements... need ones with big pockets for dog balls and bags... Have a great weekend.

You definitley got me thinking about this one now. I was told the jello and blueberry pomogranate drink both don't get absorbed by the body as well and should only be used as a 4th pack. Not quite sure why this is(maybe the collagen) I never really questioned it, just figured she knew better than me so I followed. I will question it on Monday when I go in and let you know the reasoning behind it. If anybody else can fill us in on if this is right or not please let us know.
It is strange that you would be told that. Especially since you should have only 3 packets a day. Somewhere in the info pack I got it does say to drink/eat the blueberry drink or jelly every day to help with loose skin. Good luck

Congratulations I think the lightbulb just went off in your head. I think you are going to do just fine for the rest of your time. Glad you got it... it is a great plan if you follow it. Have a good weekend.

Have you tried having a snack in the afternoon? or even spliting your snack in two for part in the afternoon and then in the evening?

I did buy some Greek yogurt and I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I've never eaten plain yogurt before because I think the taste would be awful so my coach said to mix a teaspoon of peanut butter in it and that's really good. I may try that.

What are Miracle noodles? Are they the soy ones? Where do you get them and how do you prepare them?

On another note, I had for the first time for my snack last night the chocolate covered soy balls. OMG I can't believe I never tried them before! They were sooo good. I usually have pudding for my snack, but I'll definitely have to get more of those babies!

Thanks! Hubby wants to take pics of me again. i treated myself to a new skirt today -- walked in a bought a Medium off the shelf and it works perfectly. I will ask him to take pics over the weekend.

My hairdresser is a student who is graduating hair school soon (I go to Paul Mitchell School). I showed him the pics my hubby took after my last haircut, and the learning leader requested that I send them for the student's portfolio. I was thrilled. All the students kept saying "what a great photo!"... Made me feel good.

Enjoy the garden! I need to go water mine. We haven't had rain in a long time -- just lots of "chances of showers" so i get my hopes up... Congrats on the SKINNY compliment... Gotta love that!!

However I don't want to be that annoying guest with weird requests and I am sure the couple have plenty of other things to worry about. ALSO I am new to the family..I recently got engaged this past christmas and this is my fiance's side of the family so I don't want my first impression to be me being a pain in the butt.. Or maybe I am over thinking things? no idea. Help! lol
I don't know if this will be any help..but because of my husband's business I am CONSTANTLY at dinners that I cannot make special requests for. The trick for me is to be prepared. I carry a bag that looks like a purse and it is equipped with bars (i don't eat alot of these but if I'm somewhere where I have not options I am grateful to have them--or a bite) portable packets of WF dressings, my shaker, sea salt & packets of IP options. I have learned to be discreet and move my food around (in these tough situations I have been known to take small bites if I'm starting to look like a fuss). I can usually always ask for the dressing on the side if there is a salad. If not...eating a salad with dressing in a blue moon is not falling off the cliff. My biggest trick is to order coffee (caf or decaf depending on how late the function will be) and have RTD vanilla drink to pour into it! Yum...feels like a treat and if it has caffeine it helps staying up with everyone who is boozing it up!! Oh, and if possible I keep sliced cucumbers and radishes in the bag. Hope this helps!!
