Oops.. forgot. Ozarka is spring water. I can't drink the water here. It's so bad--you can smell the chlorine and it tastes awful-- even with a water softner and other filters. I wish...

My steak met the guidelines. It was very lean. 3 minutes on the grill each side and it was perfect. Also, grilled some zucchini. Had cauliflower and salad. I'm stuffed.

I'm definitely going to place an order with NN. Thanks so much again!

CONGRATULATIONS!!@!!

I was a bit naughty tonight-had a butter herb sauce on my veggies. It was that or no oil and I like being 'regular'.

I know some of you are from DC...any restaurant suggestions? As long as I can take the metro to it I can do it. No seafood.I have around $50-60 for dinners
I have 3-4 more nights here.

I too like the bars, not a big fan of the rest of the restricteds. Would like to go off the restricteds all together and try one of the other packets for a snack like butterscotch pudding but am so afraid I will hate them. What do you ladies do or suggest?

I've only been on the program for 2 weeks, and have bought things sparingly. Have 2 different bars, and only one type soup so far
I tried your Skype name but according to them, you don't exist.

I am only a few hours in and have already goofed. My coach said the sparkling flavored waters are fine so I grabbed a few at the store yesterday. It has aspartame! ACK! I think he said I was supposed to get ones flavored with Splenda or Stevia, etc. I'm just going to go ahead and drink it today. I guess. Why are we not supposed to have aspartame (other than the chemical reason that it's just not good for us). Will it have a specific negative effent on the diet?

I just had the oatmeal for breakfast and was pleased. I'm super nervous about all the packets I chose. I hope I like them!

Ok... enough rambling! I hope everyone has a wonderful OP day!

By far is La Croix. It comes in so many flavors, I love the grapefruit and they aren't over carbonated like a few others I have tried. I got my coach hooked too! Hope you can find them as you will love them.

Okay wow, that was a shameless plug

Good luck with your goal! You can do this!!!
Thanks for the support!!

I am calling this self challenge an OP streak, and I am going to keep track of how many days straight I have been OP and put it in my sig. That way if I screw up I will have to go in and change it in my sig, and everyone will know. Maybe that will keep me accountable!

I bought some a couple of days ago. The lemon and lime don't have much flavor, but at least it's out of a can and it's carbonated. Makes me feel at least like I'm having a softdrink... heh heh...

My mother got extremely angry at that too and the fact that we were always at the out-laws house instead of hers. Thank God I'm divorced now and don't have to deal with that! Look, there is a perk in being divorced!

Oh and about your headaches- they will die off as soon as your body detoxes. My BF had a headache for 3-4 days straight when he started IP because of the caffeine in all the soda he used to drink. Depends on the person as to how long it takes for your body to rid itself of the toxins that are causing your headaches (and what they are).

I don't know why you feel neauseated though, that's not something I've encountered. Maybe someone can chime in on this?

On a separate note:
I just got my thyroid test back and my level is 0.02. A month ago it was 3.0. I'm taking Armour Thyroid and was told to cut it back but I thought 3.0 was a fine level so I didn't. Last test was 6.0 and the one a few months before that was 10.0! So this is the first time in 2-3 years that my level has been normal (since I started asking exactly what the levels were, not just dumbly believing the doctor when he/she said they were low. Been hypothyroid for 5 years now).

0.02 means my thyroid is working and the level is actually too high. But I feel totally normal and happy! I am thinking of seeing a naturopath instead of my current doctor. He doesn't really pay attention. I believe in treating my symptoms, not my lab tests. Anyone else out there with hypothyroidism feel the same way? Why is it so hard to get doctors to listen to our symptoms instead of relying whole-heartedly on lab results (which vary widely anyway). Last year when I did IP it did not help my thyroid levels at all (they didn't change), so I really don't think IP had anything to do with these levels.

Also, today my head is in the clouds and I forgot my sweater and my protein bar for lunch. I am freezing but luckily I had some protein powder here at work and I do have my salad. I also put my tea in my BF's bag and almost took his IP lunch this morning instead of mine! Woo I hope my brain returns to me at some point. I would forget it too if it weren't already inside my head.
cinnamon- i would certainly try someone who is very in tune for your thyroid. i can't take the synthroid either. i use armour. i have dropped 43 pounds now and haven't had my levels checked. i should. but if i'm under 5 on my tsh my general practitioner says all is ok. i have to twist his arm to even order a free t3 and t4. i feel much better with my tsh around 1. most of the allowed veggies are goitrogenic too. plus the soy in some of the packets. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/goitrogens/. see what you think about this website.... stop the thyroid madness dot com.

Thumbs up First day on IP!

I'm so happy to have started this - finally!! Last week, I had too much on my calendar and needed to get all the "bad" food cooked and eaten, rather than go to waste.

So it wasn't too bad today. I knew that I would be faced with a lot of challenges, since today was our monthly all-staff meeting with breakfast food galore... I had the berry smoothie on my way into work, then brought my 32oz. water with a Crystal Light mixed in to keep me from the bad food. Later, the crispy cereal to eat with a sprinkle of Truvia and a dash of cinnamon. So yummy! Lunch was raw veggies and another IP - I think chocolate.

Dinner was easy. I sipped on a cran-pomegranate IP drink while my roomie grilled pork tenderloin and asparagus, and I enjoyed a salad with WF Sesame Ginger dressing. The dressing had a slightly weird smell, but it tastes pretty good, IMO!

I was a little fuzzy today just from the lack of calories, I think, but I was successful in ignoring all of the snacks around me at work today. I even made it through a trip to the grocery store!!

Here's to day #2 - I hope I am able to survive a two-day conference...

He finally called me at 5pm to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. He'd been with his mother-in-law's family all day and actually called me from their home. When he finally did call, I told him that it was a nice surprise. His reply was, "Well, Mom, how could I forget with all the advertisements about 'send you mother flowers or candy and such for Mother's Day? I'd be a terrible son if I didn't call you." (so where are MY flowers??? huh?) I've been really bummed out since then. My daughter-in-law never even got on the phone. I guess she was too busy with HER mother. I'm not trying to be in competition with anyone, but my feelings are really hurt. If I hadn't given birth to my son, to whom would she be married?

So... all that... and after about 19 days on the program, I've only lost 9 pounds. My doctor said I could lose 5 each week, so what gives? While I'm not on the IP program, she did give me a version of it. I'm doing everything but using the IP products, plus I'm not allowed anything but the basic program--no optionals, just 2 shakes, 4 veggies and salad out the ying yang! I'm really trying to be good about this. I've not cheated once, but I'm so tired of the same ole things after almost 3 weeks and I've got so much more weight to lose! So... today I'm having my own little pitty party. I'm sorry to dump this on you, but sometimes life just isn't fair, I guess.

Thanks for reading...
Happy belated mothers day.

I personally HATE this holiday. some people have lost their mothers, some can't have children. It can be depressing.

It is also hard when you get married. I have a mom and my fiance has a mom. For the past 5 years we have always gone to her house, because my mom and I were not close. Now that my mom and I are closer again, after giving her a grandchild. I find mothers day is a pain.
Now we have to figure out how to celebrate both of them in one day. I love them both and would hate for either one to feel left out.
I am sorry your son didn't drop by. you have evey right to be upset if he was already in the car and could have come over.
What I hate about this holiday is having a child who is too young to know what mothers day is. My fiance woke me up with her and gave me breakfast in bed and a picture she drew for me. He came with my IP cereal and my vitamins. But for the remaining of the day it was all about HIS mother (which is fine, I love her dearly) I just wish he would have gotten me flowers too. He says it is "mothers day, not wife day" and that I will have to wait until our daughter can get me flowers. BUMMER.

JudoGirl--Congrats! You need no luck. You are totally going to rock this. You are one of the most knowledgeable folks on the forum and you have communication skills AND a success story. You will do great. Congrats!

I'm back from my WI (not sure which number) and am down 2.8 lbs so I'm finally in the 140s. I am starting phase 2 tomorrow to prepare for a trip in a little over 4 weeks. We'll see how it goes.

I LOVE to mix the butterscotch pudding with 8 oz.coffee, 2 oz. water, and 2 splenda packets (iced, then re-heated half at a time so it's like having two cups)! I can even put it in a go-cup and feel like I'm having my caramel macchiato. Add sf syrup and it's even better!

Good luck Kay!

As I understand it, certain sweeteners cause your pancreas to react and start releasing insulin into your bloodstream. Some don't. Aspartame is one of the bad ones, Truvia/Stevia and Splenda are the good ones.

In my experience, it DOES have an impact, as much as I hate to admit it. I'm a former Diet Coke junkie, and that was one of the hardest things to give up on this diet.

just have to post this... i ordered new protein from netrition and of course i always order enough to get the freebie junket. this time a tape measure to easily do your own arm or whatever. you click it together around yourself then press a little button and it picks up the slack. i've been using my sewing tape which is doable but this thing is sweet!

so here are my stats in inches- jan 2, march 17 and today.
waist- 40.5, 36, 34
thigh- 27.5, 24.5, 23
upper arm- 13, 12.5, 11
butt- 46.5, 42, 40

i always round up to the 1/2 so as to error on the side of caution. happy dance (holding up my sweat pants with one hand...wavin my new fancy tape measure with the other!!)
