  • Hey, like to hear if anyone has gained weight on program?? I have been following the program to the letter--stalled last week and this week gained a pound! Any ideas?? I've examined all variables and am stumped!
  • Muscle gain if you are an exerciser? Water retention?

    Nope and nope!!!!
  • Yep, it happened to me.....gained 1 lb once. I found carbonated water at the grocery store and thought it would be a good idea to drink 1/day because it tasted soooo yummy and it only had Splenda in it. Huge mistake! It really does effect weight loss. Although I do have less weight loss at certain TOM (for me it is around ovulation) but I've never gained like when I had with the fizzy water

My typical month looks like this.... -2, -1, -0, -4.5

Hi, thanks! i wish I could attribute it to something, but tomorrow is another day and hopefully this week will show a negative. it is really frustrating and discouraging because how can you not lose weight on this program????

That is what happened to me last week, I was so upset at WI that I was up 3 lbs, nearly cried my eyes out. I did not cheat, did not exercise, my coach thinks it was water retention as I was down a total of 10.75 inches. I was with the loss in inches but upset at the scale.

hmmm, if you can give us a 48 hour report on everything you eat or drink, we might be able to find some hints. Include any meds you are taking and all your water, salt and supplements. I bet there is someone on here who can help...don't lose heart, we can figure it out!

    Thanks, will do.
  • Same thing happened to me this week. Followed plan perfectly. Gained about 2.5 lbs. Want to cry...or throw the scale across the room...but will continue hanging in there. Never giving up.
  • My mother didn't lose any weight this week-at her #3 WI. She got keostix and found she wasn't in ketosis. Turns out, she ate out somewhere and our best guess is that the meat she had was brined/marinated in something with sugar even though she was assured it wasn't. She showed between trace/moderate as of yesterday afternoon so she is getting back in finally. That is why I keostix myself every day-so I know immediately if I go out. With all the traveling I do for work, I need to know if a meal I ate at a restaurant threw me out so I don't go back the next day. I already know that Outback steakhouse is 'safe' so that is my fallback restaurant when I travel.
Thankfully I've been home all this week and should be all next week-a welcome break to my usually weekly travel.
  • Maybe drink more water? Or a cup of hot tea helps with water retention as well, if that's the case.
  • That happened to me the first time. I gained 2 pounds the first week. Turns out, I was not taking the supplements correctly...
  • My coach told me that the biggest reason people may not see a difference on the scale is constipation... Also you have to have the exact amount of everything IP product, veggies, supplements, olive oil, and salt. I guess if you don't get the exact amount you won't lose anything especially if you don't get the olive oil I guess. Not sure if this helps but worth a shot!

Well, I was wondering when someone was going to mention the little "c"!!

But beyond that I just want to say that isn't it weird that you (and me and the rest of us) have to come HERE to this forum to get some answers!

What did your healthcare "professional" (I use that term loosely) say? I would suspect as has been the experience for me and my (local) friends doing the program is that they aren't saying much! Mostly, "I don't know."

I agree with the notion that every body reacts differently to every (new) thing being thrown at it. So to say that you need to follow it exactly or that you need to be in ketosis for it to work doesn't cut it for me. Everyone is different.

I also want to note that my friend (only just completed week 2) has lost over 10 lbs. and she ate pizza and drank wine (not a lot, but still--a "cheat") last weekend! So go figure. Now, maybe, just maybe, if she HADN'T cheated she'd be down more but I think most of us would be satisfied with 4 lb. loss in one week!

Bottom line: Hang in there (as you say you are going to do). I have not had a gain yet, but I have held the same on one occasion and my weekly average is below 2 lbs./week. Slow and steady--getting ready (prepared) for a lifestyle change--not just a quick fix!
  • Thanks all for your conversation, helpful! I believe that this program works--so many people have posted amazing stories--maybe my body needs a bit more time to adjust and let go of the fat. Have a great weekend!
