Default Monday, monday

Happy Monday! It definitely came in with a bang.

I hope all of those in the US mid-west are safe and sound from the earthquake and tornadoes. I know I was woken up to the sound of a train plowing towards the house. 70 mph straight-line winds! Scary stuff.

Welcome to all the newbies! Congrats to all the wonderful weekend weightlosses and NSVs. Here's to a great week ahead.

Good morning all! Here is to another wonderful day and start of a week.

I had posted yesterday, but would like some opinions on phasing off by April. I would like to enjoy my 32 birthday, but want to phase off properly. I will jump right back on protocol right after and continue my journey. Would like to hear from those of you who phased off for a cruise or vacation. I have an idea how to do this but would like some further input. Either post here or feel free to PM me.

Thanks in advance. WE CAN DO THIS!

I phased off for my wedding last October and then again for a vacation that I just returned from. Both times I went directly into phase 3 and made sure that I did it for a full two weeks prior to the event. It worked out well for me.

For Christmas I went to phase II but decided not to phase off totally. I continued to lose weight on phase II - seemed to give my body a little jump start as I was starting to lose slower and slower. I enjoyed Christmas but kept any Off Protocol foods/drink to a minimum and I actually lost over the holidays.
Took off a few more lbs and then slowed down to a crawl in February so decided to phase off properly. Now on my second week in Phase IV and did not have any rebound weight happen -
Listen to your body and enjoy your birthday...but don't forget to jump right back on the IP wagon...we enjoy your insight and posts here!

Thank you to both of you for your replies. I figured I would just skip phase II and do phase III for this month starting next week. That would give me 3-4 weeks in this phase. I might do phase II for a week.

I will be back on protocol following my birthday weekend. I will indulge in off protocol items, but will return full force and finish my weight loss journey.

juiceman, I can't speak from experience, since I'm not ready to phase off yet, but I know when the time comes, I'm gonna go to all the "Life after Phase 1" threads & devour all the good info there... I know you can make it work, you've done so well so far... please be sure to let us know how it's going...

hugs

I went on a short cruise, didn't phase off, just focused on veggies and protein for most meals, oatmeal and eggs for breakfast, and even had dessert with dinner. I even enjoyed a little alcohol. Maintained my weight for the 5 days - was amazed that I didn't gain back the water weight! Good luck!

Goodmorning IP friends! Trying to read through all of the weekend thread in one morning is tough! I'll continue through the day, but I just have to say, you all are amazing, wonderful supporters of each other. I love you all (in an internet kinda way).

Juiceman, you can definitely do that, but be sure to come back! Some people have a hard time phasing off and coming back, I've seen. You're doing so well!

Susanmly, good luck today! Keep us posted.

Stayed OP all weekend, but had a hard time getting in all my food. I love ketosis for making me not hungry, but eating two packets before bed because I simply forgot to eat. (I FORGOT TO EAT????!!!!)

Having a problem in my lower back. Very sore, but not muscle soreness, more like low-wattage shooting pains. Any insight?

Hey Juiceman--although I cannot respond to this I can respond to your other question posted over the weekend (big C) -- part of the reason some of us suffer from this is the added calcium (and higher protein) -- if you take calcium without magnesium you are likely to end up bound up. I find there is not enough magnesium in the supplements from IP to counteract the unpleasant side effect of the calcium. I do not use the novilax from IP partly because if you are truly suffering the big C - psyllium husk can sometimes make it worse (and it definitely does for me) psyllium husk/fiber is great if you are only slightly bound up but if you are stomach pain suffering then it can cause more issues. I take a product by nature vitality called "Calm" it works great and is IP approved. (I like the raspberry lemon - makes the water fizzy and tastes really good) -- I have also used a product made by Bluebonnet which is a liquid Calcium Magnesium (I used both of these while pregnant) - Bluebonnet has some sugar alcohols - however I prefer this source of calcium over that which is supplied by IP. (the orange flavor is best but this stuff is chalky - Calm tastes better if you just need the magnesium). Liquid calcium has a much higher absorption/utilization rate and is considered by some, my naturopath as well as my regular doctor, a better form of calcium. I am considering switching back to my liquid calcium magnesium when I am finished with this IP bottle. Check your new alternatives see if they have added calcium -- this could be the culprit of your big C -- hope this helps (talk about weight loss hindrance )

Hello and good morning!

WI# 13 for me this AM and a one pound loss. Now that's more like me! See, the three pounds from last week were, I don't know, a small miracle. I average one to one and a half pounds a week typically. I was a little off protocol this weekend, but not really and no carbs. I am just over eight pounds away from my goal and am in no rush. Well, maybe a little...

Have a great day!

Hi Sheila...

Thanks for getting us started. Sounds like you had a rude awakening this morning. Glad you are safe. Hope mother earth calms down for you.

Spring is in the air today! We actually had our first thunderstorm of the year last night. My dog woke us all up barking at midnight (she hates thunder). Hope everyone has a great IP day!

Holy crappers I have experienced Plow winds twice in my life and they can be pretty scary (especially if you live in a trailer without a proper footing). Hope your feeling safe and secure now and no damage was done to your property!
