Congrats on resisting the temptations! We are on the same weeks for IP. I purchased an electronic bodyfat monitor like the ones that they use in the gyms. I think you can pick them up new for anywhere between $20-$40. But you might find a few off of eBay for cheaper. That's how I calculate my bodyfat and BMI each week. Keep up the great work!!

Thank YankeeFan for your advice, my husband and I are avid Ebay'ers. She does take the counts for fat etc but just doesn't share the results...How silly!! I may just check into getting my own so that when I'm finished I can still monitor my bodyfat. I figure the more control I take the better I will do like I said were all doing this for ourselves not for others. Here's to a great WI # 3 for us both.. I have to go a day early as our clinic will be closed on my regular day.

Yes I made it through a crazy girls night out and stayed on plan! Happy dance for me. As martinis and glasses of wine were flowing I was happy to be just surrounded by some very good friends and tons of laughter. I stuck with water and unsweetened ice tea through the evening. Dinner was a 5 oz filet mignon and grilled asparagus. I did go over a little on protein I had 3 grilled shrimp as an appy....please don't shoot me...honestly I am ok with it. In my eyes it could have been an extra dirty martini so I will take the extra shrimp over that any day. At the end of the night when the dessert menu came and all my girls indulged I was happy with my mint tea. This night for me was something I was so nervous for and I feel I handled it very well. I also think the motivation of the -6 lb loss on Friday made me realize that cheats are just not really worth it. You are hurting no one but yourself at the end of the day.

So thumbs up to a positive Sunday. Hope everyone enjoys their day today.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! and doesn't it feel great to wake up this morning and woo hoo no hangover!!

I to ate out last night for my first time, I also had Filet my was served as a 6 oz and I ate every last bite of it and didn't feel guilty at all, we may have eaten a little over our normal portion but we ate the right things and passed on a TON of temptations!! One more victory for us!!:carrot:

Good Morning All....

Woke up this morning feeling great!!! Stepped on my scale and It's in the 160's although it's 169.5 it's good enough for me to feel victory. In 2 weeks I've left behind the 80's the 70's and now working on getting rid of the 60's. YIPPEE what great encouragement for the new week. Going by my scale that's 14.5 pounds in 16 days what more can a person ask for...

For all of you out there just starting this program, hang in there it REALLY does work and you will feel better then you have felt in a long time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!

svelting---- why thank you for the compliment!! - the other great thing about the 2 cup glass bowls is like someone mentioned, you can micro in them also, PLUS my chronically skinny, veggie lovin, eats everything DH knows when he sees one of MY bowls in the fridge that he better not even think about touchin it!!! :rollpin:

i'm certain i'll NEVER like my thighs tho....barf! :barf:

i'm telling you guys....try putting your baby spinach leaves in the blender with your vanilla or berry packet. it tastes really good and 2 cups veggies down. I absolutely hate the thought of you having to torture yourself with celery! :barf: and as for not having time at work for lunch what is easier than having your drink.... so convenient!

camino- friendly remember to be very diligent about your supplements when increasing your water consumption.... got myself in trouble with that getting depleted from all the peeing :o and was very very sick for a couple of days. good job on your 5 lbs!

Well my pan seared scallops were a bit disappointing last night. i guess what did i expect getting the budget bag of frozen baby scallops from wallie world.... next time i'll look for some nice big ones from the fresh meat counter! am trying some stuffed green peppers today. i'll post how they turn out!

Hope your mornings are off to a good start. Just finished my breakfast and am watching Off the Map. Scale said 283.something. If that is the case, I have dropped 5lbs in two days. I have been chugging water like crazy - Yesterday I drank almost four litres. No big plans for the day, getting the sniffles and a sore throat. I`m excited to see how this is going to work out with my job - I teach 1st grade and sometimes don`t have the time to stop for lunch. On top of that, getting veggies in at work is going to be a challenge seeing as our stove is not the greatest and I am very picky about vegetables. I bet you can find some other options to take for lunch... cherry tomato (but they are restricted), cucumber slices, raw broc and cauliflower... But, try the WF blue cheese dip on celery (and any other raw veggies). It's really good, and I'm not in love with many of the WF products.

Good morning, y'all. I am in a good mood today and wanted to share it. I hit 70lbs gone as of this morning. Started at 271, now at 201. I feel good and look a lot better than I did. My semi-arbitrary goal is 180, so not that much more to go. This is the point where I don't know what I will look like when I get to 180; been way too long to remember. Well, I think that is it. Have a great day!

Thanks girls, for your help on the Redmonds Sea Salt...

This is strange. I was at Whole Foods yesterday, looking at the sea
salt, and I bought I jar that looked just like the Redmonds jar, it says real salt, natures finest sea salt. Same colors and exact same packing as Redmonds, but it doesn't say Redmonds on the jar. It even looks like there are grains of sand in it... and I thought, well heck, I can't make a federal case over this salt, and it kind of looks like a beach in a bottle, so I was all about it. lol. I'm sure this is the same stuff, and what's done...is done.

Now, I'm trying to find a mini shaker around this house, so that I can make a purse size salt shaker.

Hope everyone is having a strong day! Thoughts are with all of ya!

I was searching high and low for something to put my salt in for my purse at the store, couldn't find anything. I probably look funny taking out my cinnamon container and sprinkling it over my food. (I washed it out and put in the salt.)

Hi DinobowerRN: Goodfor you for getting through that tough time. Some are harder than others. I am a RN too, and somedays are hectic but I like the fact that I know exactly what I am going to eat for lunches etc. I also don't get that crash while others who have ate at the cafeteria, higher fat or fried foods are crashing all over. (feeling sluggish anyway). Again Hooray good for you.

Hey Farmer! I live up the road from you and yesterday I visited your "town." Sunmart on our way to check out Charbonneau for camping! Small world. Awsome job on your 70 pounds, thats great! That's my goal.

Maggiemagu What part of Washington are you in? Sounds like you're off to a great start!

Last night I took my 4yr old son on a "date" to a roller skating party. They had pizza, cupcakes, & icecream. I ate my turkey burger with sauteed green peppers, mushrooms, zuchinni and some garlic. WOW was that good. Last night I was craving dinner again instead of the party food. I'll make that again for dinner tonight. (maybe every night too:D) A few people who hadn't seen me in awhile said I looked great and asked me about what I was doing. When I say "eliminate carbs and sugars" I loose them. Oh well, when they are really ready they'll do something about it.

:)

A few years ago you could buy spices in mini jars, I haven't seen them for quite some time, so all I have found around the house is a very small jar for cream or powered eyeshow... it doesn't have the shaker thing, but I can "pitch" from it, so it will work!

Real Salt makes a 2 oz shaker that closes. My clinic sells them. you can find it at www.realsalt.com. I"m not sure if they sell them on that site, but it may give you store locations?

I just realized that this is the last day of my fourth week on program! According to my scale, i'm down 14 pounds!!! Fantastic! I've only had one official weigh in after week 2, b/c i live so far from my clinic---- but i'm calling this one a victory.

puffy

Good morning from Idaho,

My daughter is in her first weep of IP. She called and said that she feels puffy and can't even wear her wedding ring right now.

I told her to increase her water intake, that 64 oz. is the minimum. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Linda
