I am looking forward to seeing some results early on but will definitely struggle with the veggies - I am not a fan! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

This site’s search engine is abysmal. The very best way to search is to use google. Example:
Site:3fatchicks.com “ideal protein” chicken
copy and paste that into google and see what pops up.

IMO I do not believe that a little unsweetened almond milk in your coffee will do any harm to this diet. You could always try some and if it impacts your weight loss – STOP!

Almond breeze unsweetened almond milk - ¼ cup has 10 calories, 0 carb, 0 fiber and 1 fat. But, on the other hand if you used ¼ cup IP RTD it has 25 calories, 1 carb, 4 protein, 1 fiber and 1 fat. That is the beauty of using online programs like my fitness pal dot com. Plug in what you want to check and compare the stats.

I am so very happy for you! I know you were feeling a little burned out. Does this make it better? I hope so.

Forgive me if I have not addressed every single one of you. Y'all are posting left and right and if you miss just ONE day you are behind :dizzy:

This plan really does work. I fit into size 14 pants and when I started I was wearing size 20. I’ve lost 44 lbs since starting 10/17/10. I had a party at my house on 10/16/10 and I ate all the carbs I could fit into my mouth then started the next day. Needless to say Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were a b*tch! Not a recommended way to start this diet!

Happy Saturday! I had a meltdown last night and went after Stacy's pita chips like a fool. My head is back on today and think I needed that moment of carelessness to move ahead. This is the toughest eating experience of my life (next to pregnancy illness) and realize now I could NEVER be on Survivor. 36 days without eating would put me in a rubber room. :yikes:

I have a question for you.. I'm entering week 4 of my journey and yesterday I don't know why, I was soooo hungry, so I drank more water, and I had more than my 4 cups of vegetables.. maybe 6 or even 7 (it was not lettuce). My question is, next time should I grab one more IP packet or if more vegetables is OK, i know it's a bit more carb, but at least it's was not cookies!

Vanessa333 - I had same question and my coach said both were OK, but best to eat more good veggies like celery. So I cut up the celery & keep in water filled container in frig so I can grab them when hungry. I've not had to take a 4th packet yet. Between 2-5 is my hungry time so I'm having IP snack then rather than evening.

cmsgrrl - thanks for reminder. I spend hours searching this site to come up empty. Everyone is so gracious to answer what is probably #92 of the same question.

Happy Saturday and hoping everyone gets some Spring today. Expecting 60s here and so excited for that!

Wow, way to go. I am in a similiar situation. Down 14.4 lbs with next weigh in on Tuesday. I almost had a crash last night, hubby had peanuts, i wanted some so badly, but fought through the craving, and was proud of myself. Those 'bad' foods are just not worth it for me anymore. Keep up the good work everyone. I too want one of those tickers, you can really see your progress.

I have WI # 2 on Monday. I am looking forward to it, although I don't think I will lost quite as much as I did last week, and that is fine!! As long as I lose SOMETHING, even if it's inches and no pounds!
Hope everyone has had a great weekend thus far!!! :dizzy:

Great words! We can do some amazing things if we put our mind to it. Keep up the good work!

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Can't wait to get a ticker!

I love the chili, especially over lettuce. Reminds me of a taco salad!

Enjoying the weather before the next round of cold weather and possibly snow next week - crazy. I am SO ready for summer. Which is a weird thing for me to say because before IP my hormonal self was always hot and hated summer. I couldn't tolerate the heat. Now my IP self is always cold and can't wait for the 100 degree days - ok maybe that's a stretch :D

I jumped on the scale this morning and was down another lb. I'm averaging about 1/2 a day. I'm am now officially at my lowest point in 3 years - and I was dieting and exercising that entire time. Amazing how this works! And it's only taken 2.5 weeks!

Had my hot chocolate IP Pack this morning and have planned my meals for the rest of the week. I'm ready.

My goal this next week is to pick a new veggie and give it a try. I think i'm going to do cucumbers. I always hated them - but I'm going to give it another shot.

And I've got a poker night at the neighbors next weekend - so I need to find some crunchy chip thing to take and munch on while others are having their chips and salsa. So I'm off to the recipe section to see what I can find.

Have a great one everyone!

Oh, how I wish it was spring like weather here in MB..it is -30 with the windchill!! BRRR!!
You're doing a fabulous job!! A few more lbs gone and I'll be ready for summer, too!!

I love it like that! But I also take the chopped onions and "rehydrate" them in a bowl of water, add chopped pickles, and some WF Thousand Island dressing. Almost like the big mac in a bowl and taco salad. Really good!

Camio87 01-29-2011 12:21 PM

Good morning everybody. Today is my second day of IP. I had a rough end of the night yesterday - I couldn`t bring myself to swallow the second Cal-Mag, and couldn`t finish my IP Bar (Snack) I was so full and was almost crying. Thankfully my SO was there to console me.
I woke up this morning and had my IP chocolate pudding. I am not sure what I am going to do for lunch - I have seen some people posting about putting the chili over a bed of lettuce or other greens - I might try this today for lunch seeing as I am not a veggie fan but maybe this will work!
Yesterday when I stepped on the scale in the morning before eating it read 288.8 - this morning when I woke up it reead 285.0 - I know it is only one day, but it is encouraging to see it drop nonetheless! My weigh-in is on Thursday and I feel like this program may not be as life-ending as I thought!
It is motivating and inspiring to see everybody`s losses on and off the scale.
Plans for the day are to possibly go to the golf dome and shwack some balls with my man.
Here`s to a successful day for everybody!

This does make it better. It also helps that I started reaching out to some ladies that are a little farther along in this than I am and that can give me new ideas and sage advice. I almost cried in the dressing room though. I've been waiting for those 8s for my entire life.

Happy to crack you up! I'd post pictures, but it's truly horrifying.

Kind of funny, but I just ordered some new lounge pants for my post surgery lazing around. My old ones were too big and sadly, the new ones are on the cusp of being too big! But they are soooooo comfy.

I had the same exact thoughts first starting out. I once in a while still have those thoughts, but it gets a lot better.

Jess, That is so awesome you bought size 8! I tried on size 8 last week and they fit, but I just bought 4pair of 10's a few weeks back, so I'm living with them hanging off me for a bit. :^: You'll rock that bikini when you get your boobs hacked off! :carrot:
I can't wait to see your results!

Everyone have an awesome weekend. Be an IP poster child this weekend and fight those nasty tempations! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

4 pairs?!?!?!? Did you think you were going to be staying a size 10? :D I am limiting myself to one pair of jeans in each size until I'm done. I hate wearing jeans that are too big, so I've been getting them at Maurice's ($29/pair!) Funny enough, I've been able to buy exactly the same style the whole time.

It's so funny to me that I can wear the bikini bottoms already. I was needing bottoms of some sort because we're going to Portland at the end of February and while I'm sure that I'm not going to be allowed to be soaking in the hot tub yet, I certainly intend to get my bottom half in! I suspect I may end up having to buy another set of bottoms this summer. OH DARN!

I feel weird because I feel like I cheated, but it's vegetables so it's weird to think I have cheated with veggies!! hahaha!!

I was in a similar boat at the end of week 3. For some reason I felt like I was starving. Additional water and more lettuce didn't help. So I ended up eating a 4th packet, which was also my first restricted since the first week. It helped tremendously. Didn't affect my weight loss, too. Boiled some eggs (per someone's suggestion here) and have them on hand in case it happens again. Good luck with your WI!

I bought them on Craigslist for $15 for all of them. I thought I would be in them longer than this, but that's ok with me! I'll re-sell them and use that money and go for size 8's very soon. I'll go for 1 pair, good idea. ;) I don't know what size I'll end up in at the end, but I'm excited to see the results. Have fun in Portland, sounds like you have a fun few months. Portland, Gorge, lucky you! The Gorge is beautiful, have you ever been there? I went for Aerosmith several years back and it was AWESOME!! They are my favorite group. I like Rush too, but not enough to "rush" out and get tickets. hee hee

Oh, well $15 is okay! I only ever get 1 pair just because I know I won't be in them for that long and also because working for the hospital, I'm maybe wearing my own clothes for about 2 hours a day!

Portland will be fun - we're going for a couple of days for a business trip for Roger, so I won't be doing a ton, but I suspect that by that time, I'll be ready to get out of town! Never been to the Gorge, but I've always wanted to. We were going to go see Rush when they played the White River amphitheater on the west side last fall, but it just wasn't a good weekend for us to go. R heard on the radio that they were touring again this summer, doing the same show that they did last year, so he's really excited. I just hope the weather is decent - 4th of July is so iffy around here...

rondar 01-29-2011 01:19 PM

from fridays thread- i was kinda sickish so i went to bed instead of posting when i got home...

Coqui- i'm so happy for you to have your sister join IP. 3FC forum is my lifeline, but having some one face to face has got to be great support. someone who isn't looking at your little packet in the lunch room at work thinking you are on another crazy diet!!! good luck to both of you!

Lilly0618- i hope you have someone video your hubby seeing you for the first time! you are going to, right? i can't wait to hear about it, when is he coming home? and as for the co-workers and the cake and pizza.....my experience was the first couple of weeks i hated everyone for eating anything i couldn't have, and sometimes told them so violently! then one day i realized my family (and coworkers, who i spend more time with than my family unfortunately) don't deserve to live in fear of my outrage over their food. so i just stopped. just like that. tv isn't going to stop running commercials about food, restaurants aren't going to change their menus and people are not going to stop eating to suit me. something we will have to deal with the rest of our lives. it'll drive you crazy, hope you can find a way to let it go and be happy.... and what is more awesome than getting on the scale and seeing progress or having a NSV, right? ;)

CheekyWit- quote "I scour these posts when I feel like eating - I can get sucked in and forget all about food - so a huge shout out to those of you who post it keeps me honest and motivated"------ME TOO! ditto on the thank you!

slickmouse- re: spreading out proteins thru the day-------- imo since none of the allowed foods create an insulin spike response in the body, you should eat in response to your physical hunger. that isn't always the case when you are eating alot of simple carbs and riding the insulin rollercoaster of hunger pains...that is what kept us craving more junk all the time before IP. if it means splitting something and eating 1/2 then do so... i have been measuring and packaging my meals and veggies in 2 cup pyrex bowls and i eat out of my bowl a couple of bites to calm my hunger, then put it away for later. like everyone says, you have to adjust to your personal body signals. we don't all have the same body schedule of hunger, there are so many variables-- activity, sleep, stress, hormones, etc....

and as for CUPCAKES......darn little delights they are, try lindora chocolate fudge cake packets. makes a cute little cake in a small pyrex bowl in about 2 min from the micro... make one and take with you as part of your program on those party days!

DinobowerRN--quote--"day 11 and fighting cravings. sigh. I have been very good and have not cheated once and I don't want to mess this up. Do the cravings ever truely go away?? Well, I guess I will go do some dishes and make a cup of tea"----yes they do go away, but (imo) you should have been past that point by now for the most part. i have noticed several people on the thread talking about "small cheats" i.e. had some fruit, or one bite of cake, or licking fingers and spoons kinda thing. imo- this is where understanding the science of ketosis has to be firm. one bite, can keep you from where you want to be as far as diminished cravings etc. if you have to cheat have an extra protein, or even a diet pop would be better than a bite of cake or just 1 piece of candy... like juiceman? i think says- is it worth $50 and 3 days to get back into a strong ketosis? so i guess what i'm saying is maybe review your journal and make sure it is clean... and keep that hot tea handy! besides it's supposed to get colder this weekend in wonderful wyo! :hug

Mrs Diettrich----i am dreaming of a size 8 :cp:

petiteandcute---it is a struggle trying to dress age appropriate isn't it! i agree about not wanting to be wearing what the 16 year olds are, but heck with the granny stuff too! and at a size 6 boy do you have options!!! :dizzy:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :grouphug:

good job on being ready with your menu- what a great way to set your self up for success!

have you tried the kale chips yet? or maybe the turnip fries... made some of those last night an DH kept stealing them off my plate! :rollpin:

hey all dog lovers in the group- i am in the local paper for people and their pets next week. they take a pic of the pet and owner separately, then readers guess which pet belongs to who. next week they put in the together pictures! darn dog would not hold still for his glamor shot! kept trying to kiss me or the camera...:val2: what a nut!
