NSV! I've had a bad night and day emotionally, and i didn't turn to food to make myself feel better. this may be a first. I love IP.

Yes, I did. Amazingly enough we went to McDonald's for dinner. I ordered a grilled chicken salad, but asked them to hold the bacon bits, cheese, tomatoes, and carrots. I had water to drink with it while my son had a McNugget Happy Meal....and he takes two french fries and says, "Dad, French Fries aren't really good for you, that's why I'm only having a few." Healthy habits rubbing off already. Then once inside the show, I didn't have any issues at all with the foods at the concession stands. I brought some IP drink packets and some chocolate soy puffs just in case I did, but I didn't have to tap into them! Disney on Ice was a fun time for both of us!

Thanks, I made them from the recipe thread and at 425°. They were relatively dry except their own moisture. They sat on the counter for 30 min before I seasoned and started to bake them. Some started to burn and that is why I stopped baking. Will try again. Thanks.

When I do my turnip fries, I bake them at 350 degrees on parchment paper (I spray some olive oil on them and season them), turning them over occasionally. When they are done baking, then I turn on the broiler and just hit them with the broiler a minute. It does seem to crisp them up bit. They are not exactly like french fries, but I enjoy having them while everybody else is eating chips and salsa. And I do usually dip them in a little salsa or something that is spicy.

Just got back from WI. Had a week where I only lost about .5 pounds -- darn. But I will take it! Didn't cheat but didn't lose. I may start adding a little bit of exercise to my daily routine.

NSV: Last night I went to a goodbye party for one of our docs. I saw people there that I had worked with for 16 years, but since I changed jobs 3 years ago I don't see them. Some of them did not recognize me -- it was kind of funny to see their reactions -- it was worth a thousand words and smiles

I am wondering -- do we ever get over feeling cold? We have had a relatively warm winter so far this year and I am freezing constantly!

Turnip fries did not turn out so well. They never really got crispy per say. I baked them in oven for 20-25 min. Didn't like them that much but am willing to try them again if someone should have a suggestion. The next time I try them too, I might "fry" a few of them in my EVOO for the day and see how those turn out....

i made turnip fries last night too...same recipe..... wet in the middle and starting to burn at 425. the lower temp longer may just work to dry them out like mrs. d said..... i'll post back if and how i get them right, would you do the same?

Excellent job! sounds like you are doing great changing how you think and feel about food.... i'd guess more of us than not are emotional eaters..... i traded in my after work beer for a hot cup of tea... mind over matter i guess! it makes me think of how life is going to have to be after IP.... these are lifestyle changes we are making here, not just a bandaid fix!

Thankyou! I will be sure to drink even more; I already feel like I`m floating!

YAY!! I just came back from my WI #3 : -3,4!!! In 3 weeks I have lost almost 10 pounds.. WOW ! did I told you I love IP???

And I tought I was having a big stomach this morning , (Bloated?!?! sorry, my english is not that good!! French girl speaking here!)

Sometimes I feel a bit insecure because I'm telling myself that it will stop working for me.. blablabla.. But with a day like this I KNOW this work! I'm so happy!!:carrot::carrot:

And I asked my coach the questions about my craving of yesterday, what is better to have: more vegetables or an extra IP packet. (she don't really know I think haha) but she told me to have more vegetables first and then if i'm still hungry to have an extra packet. Or to replace one of my 3 packet by 1 restricted items. (Because I prefer not to use them to not slow me down!)

Anyways, have a great week-end to all of you!

feeling like crap update

so- after a miserable last couple of days and not being able to get into my doctor until monday, i reviewed all my materials- again. i am betting money that i am (was?) potassium depleted. something i read mentioned about causing tachycardia, weakness, dizzy etc. SO- i had 2 gatorades and ate to my fill of chicken and veggies. prob knocked myself out of keto, but had to do it. I don't have the recommended supplements, so that being said--- my bad, lesson learned. I hope to get into my doc monday, to help me supervise this program. I'm going to have to get some mineral supplements. any comparables someone might recommend?

also of note- be careful using the salt in water as a remedy....only use the recommended 1/3 tsp. using more is actually has a laxative effect (which sucked) i poured a bunch of redmonds sea salt in my glass and chugged it down, i figured the more the better, but ummmm no- i was miserable! and added to my out put of minerals i'm sure! anyway the material says to double the potassium for about 3 days and i am feeling much better after my gatorades and some OTC multi-vits... i have used a keto-diet before- (atkins) and my body did not respond this way... i also didn't lose 17 lbs in 24 days either.... IP is so much more effective, but you lose some of the good stuff with the fat and all that potty time!

Pan seared scallops and roasted asparagus for supper tonight! i have to start over after my gatorade but i'm ready! here's to another 17 lbs and never missing my supplements again! :nono:

My only problem is I could eat more than 2 cups of turnip fries. I like the way mine turn out. I use the oil and sea salt. Bake about 10 minutes on 450, turn them over and bake for 3-5 minutes. The time you bake them on the second side is determined by how thin you have cut them. I had never eaten turnips before, because I could not stand the way they smelled when someone boiled them. I started eating them in my stir this summer and now I am hooked on the fries. They have a sweet taste and with the sea salt yummy. Hope you master the recipe. Judy

Next time you are feeling depleted, PowerAde Zero is a much better option. It is Zero everything and made with Sucralose (Splenda).

An option for Supplements is Morter Supplements. My IP clinic is selling them now instead of the IP ones. You'll need the Super V, Alka-Cal, and Alka-Greens. This will replace everything you would get from the IP/Natura supplements and bonus they are all natural, nothing synthetic. PM me for more details.

Good morning to all IP dieters!!

I have a question for you.. I'm entering week 4 of my journey and yesterday I don't know why, I was soooo hungry, so I drank more water, and I had more than my 4 cups of vegetables.. maybe 6 or even 7 (it was not lettuce). My question is, next time should I grab one more IP packet or if more vegetables is OK, i know it's a bit more carb, but at least it's was not cookies!

I feel weird because I feel like I cheated, but it's vegetables so it's weird to think I have cheated with veggies!! hahaha!!

Thank you!! WI #3 today (one day late because my coach couldn't do it yesterday! finger cross! )

Sometimes if I do not follow protocol exactly to the letter for 2 days, the third day I'm hungry like it's nobody's business! I've done that to myself twice now. Leson learned.

Good morning guys! It's supposed to be 70 degrees today - so I'm planning to open the windows and do some pre-spring cleaning. Then take my doggies for a walk. Enjoying the weather before the next round of cold weather and possibly snow next week - crazy. I am SO ready for summer. Which is a weird thing for me to say because before IP my hormonal self was always hot and hated summer. I couldn't tolerate the heat. Now my IP self is always cold and can't wait for the 100 degree days - ok maybe that's a stretch :D

I jumped on the scale this morning and was down another lb. I'm averaging about 1/2 a day. I'm am now officially at my lowest point in 3 years - and I was dieting and exercising that entire time. Amazing how this works! And it's only taken 2.5 weeks!

Had my hot chocolate IP Pack this morning and have planned my meals for the rest of the week. I'm ready.

My goal this next week is to pick a new veggie and give it a try. I think i'm going to do cucumbers. I always hated them - but I'm going to give it another shot.

And I've got a poker night at the neighbors next weekend - so I need to find some crunchy chip thing to take and munch on while others are having their chips and salsa. So I'm off to the recipe section to see what I can find.

Have a great one everyone!

Have you tried the cucumber with some olive oil, vinegar (not much), dill weed
and salt? A little more taste than just plain.

You have lost 45 pounds!!! You should be soooo proud of yourself and already know where your motivation is. You would not have gotten where you are without it. Sit quietly for a few minutes and take some deep breaths, I'm sure it will come back to you.

45 pounds!!!! Wow!

You should be very proud. I know I always am when this happens. Savour the moment and remember it next time temptation comes around. (oh and give it a kick in the butt for me please, it comes around to often at my house!)

All this talk about turnips makes me want to go and try it out. Thanks for all the tips!!

On a personal note, I've lost a few pounds lately but I have been strugling. I just have to focus and make sure I always have emergency IP stuff with me (and water and splenda and salt...) HAHA

Swinging down from the rafters once again.

Just got back from shopping trip #2 to Whole Foods and Target.. *whew* I'm about shopped out (I HATE shopping) unless it's for panties and socks, you girls can keep your shoes, I want nothing to do with them.

Anyway, now I have 2 shoe boxes full of stuff :) ohhhh, the more I get ready, the more I get excited.

So Whole Foods didn't have WF dressing of any kind, I don't see me buying a bottle of that stuff, but will have to order some packets for my purse.. (really trying to safe positive about this stuff)

So I have a quicky question but first... **peeking around corners, and looking behind my shoulders for Svelting** You know how she can be, and I'm just to petite to take a smack down from her... LOL!

I bought a salad dressing emulsifier :) It has directions on the bottle, but I don't know if these directions are IP friendly, so here is what it says. 2/3 cup EVOO & 1/3 C vineger (apple cider will be used) plus your spices. Now if I mix that, I still only use 1 to 2 tablespoons... is that right?

Thanks for your help IP'ers!

Need advice or info

I have been on IP for 10 days. I just returned home from emergency room because my entire body is covered in a severe rash. Dr said that I was probably allergic to something in the protein packs. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?? Today was the first day I was not hungry. Any solutions or ideas? Office not open til Monday. Thanks in advance

HA! You and me, both, babe. Boobs are not fun anymore...when I'm done, I may just have everything lifted back into place. Size 8 is my goal!

1-2 TEAspoons! Whole Foods doesn't carry WF because (yes, I asked) it's not a whole food! It's a concoction of chemicals and flavorings, which is against their whole deal. Wow. So articulate tonight.

I'm hungry and I'm tired. Ate my protein, had my three packets. Gonna have some egg whites while my family has pizza. Eh. Today kinda sucks. Peppy Jolie will have to come back tomorrow after some sleep.
