Yes and yes, unfortunately. I have read numerous accounts on it. Your body has what they call a flight or fight response to stress meaning if you are so stressed it has the same responses to like if you are being chased by an angry bear or something. This response causes your body to hold onto and store fat more, especially for women.
The key is to find ways to destress and of course most importantly get a good nights sleep almost every night. Not getting enough sleep they have found also causes you to get more stressed during the day and retain weight.
Now from my personal experiences, my problem is that I am a stress eater so if I have a week that I am really stressed, I am usually not doing so good on my plan and so I don't know wether it's my eating habits or the stress itself.
