Hi everyone! I've been debating back in forth in mind so I thought I would share to get more perspective. I'm at a point where I am happy with the weightloss I've achieved thus far (s/190 c/166 g/155) but i am getting antsy and ready to move on to the next phase if not be done all together. I have 11 more pounds I want to lose and I'm not sure what to do. The past few weeks have been a bit discouraging with 1.5 and 2 lb losses (I was hoping for more). On top of all that, at the current rate I probably would not be able to have the Christmas I was hoping to have (I've read the holiday thread). So my questions are what do you think can get this weightloss amped up a liitle more (add a packet? please don't say take a way the restricted--the 1 per day is the only way I've kept my sanity in more recent weeks). Is it an absolute must to be on phase 2 for 2 weeks and phase 3 for 2 weeks before going into maintenence? I'm trying to see the end and it's getting really hard. I appreciate any feedback as this is my only IP outlet.

If you look at my signature, you will see that weight losses at 1.5 to 2 lb is not that uncommon especially the closer you get to your goal (according to my coach). When I started IP I thought I would be done with my weight loss some time in October (obviously that has not happened, but I'm not discouraged either because I am looking great and feeling great and consistently seeing improvement in my body. You can try a week with no restricted to see if that changes your weight loss at all. Then, try another full week with 4 packets a day to see if that helps. There is no sure answer because everyone's body is different. Restricted packets don't seem to change my weight loss at all so I keep them in. I haven't tried 4 packets every day but I do occasionally have 4 packets (to help me on the really active or stressed out days). One last option is moving to Phase 2. Phase 2 still keeps you in ketosis but gives you more meaty protein. All you can do is try the different options and see if your body reacts differently to any of them. Good luck and hang in there. To me, the weight loss means more to me than missing a holiday meal, or a drink with friends.
I know this is not a popular response...but here goes. I have chosen to phase out starting next week. I am not at goal and do not consider myself done, but I need a break. I've decided to go through phases 2 & 3 and then stay in phase 4 for the holidays. I think it is important to phase out properly or you will shock your pancreas and be back where you started with gaining weight. When the holidays are over, I plan to re-enter Phase 1 with a lot more enthusiasm then I'm feeling now. I will then stay on plan until I've reached my goal.
I know a lot of people don't agree with this plan, but I have thought it out carefully and discussed it with my coach and we both agree this is the best choice for me. Good Luck with whatever you choose to do.
I am in the same boat as you are, I am getting antsy and just want to take a break for a while. For me I ate the omlettes, puddings, any of the drinks, Oatmeal, soups... basically non of the restricted ( i know you dont want to hear that sorry!) With only taking these packets I lost about 3lbs a week plus more water than my usual intake. Every little bit helps with that last push, I also worked out only 2 times a week for 30min, just walking of course. I figured by walking it gets your energy levels up and your fat burns more quickly since your decreasing your sugar by not having those restricted items.
I don't see anything wrong with taking a break. You have it all planned out, consulted with your coach and have prepared for it. Go for it! You'll be back to finish up what you started.
I was so afraid of restricted and I added them last week along with more exercise and my weight loss has increased again. I currently eat the omlete for breakfast, shake with salad for lunch, a restricted mid-afternoon, and 1/2 vanilla drink with green tea before bed and I am doing 30 minutes of Wii aerobics around 5am, 40 minute walk at lunch, and 20 minutes of yoga at 4pm.
I too plan to phase off regardless of where I am at exactly 4 months (January 13th)....the holidays don't mean much for food for me...I can take it or leave it (I will miss the wine). I am going to Vegas between Christmas and New Years and that will be tough but 100% on.
I want to have 2 weeks in phase 2 and 2 weeks in phase 3 and 1 week in phase 4 before I go on my cruise the end of February. During my phase off I have signed up for a boot camp program so I hope to continue to lose while phasing off.

I'd stick with it through the holidays. Most dieters would kill for 1-2 pounds a week. We take it for granted on IP. I think phasing out in the holidays would be a real bear, temptation-wise. Also, you'll likely add a few pounds on during phase 4 as your body settles out. Think of the "fun" of having to restart IP when you consider your holiday fun.
I know it's hard, we all like holiday foods, but I think we all need to re-evaluate the type of holidays we'll be having in the future. I constantly remind myself it's time to focus on my family and friends, not food.
