    restricted or not? Some restricted not everyday. I use the bars on days I know I am going to busy. 1. for ease of use and 2. I figure if I am busier than normal I will burn off the extra carbs.

    exercise or not? Have only been on the program for 5 weeks now so just this week I have started using my eliptical trainer 3 or 4 times a week for just 20 mins to see how it effects things. I am planning on getting back to hot yoga.

    Hi Darbs,

    Why not set this up as a spread sheet, similar to the 15 lbs to Christmas one, where people can insert their name, insert info, and check off what applies. I'd suggest these categories.

    total number of pounds to lose (or starting weight),
    3 packets/drinks per day (IP or IP equivalent),
    4,
    more than 4,
    3+ sometimes,
    use restricted (yes or no),
    # restricted packets/drinks perweek,
    amount of olive oil (or equivalent per day),
    total amount of protein per day,
    average weekly weight loss/week,
    # of weeks averaged,
    exercise.

    The reason I include a person's weight is because, let's face it, people with 100 pounds to lose have different needs than those with 50 or fewer. And while the amount of fat one takes may or may lot be linked to loss, or to loss in combination with total protein or carbs, it is a factor and here would be a place to check out the range of usage.

    I also realize what while this is a simplistic gathering of information, I think it would be useful to a wide range of people, especially newbies. I also know that not everyone collects this personal information but one could always enter DN for don't know. It might shed some light on IP's decision to add more carbs to its formulae.

    Too complicated? I don't think so or I wouldn't mention it. But other, more impartial people, might be a better judge than I.

  • Total packets a day = 3 unless I get hungry; then four. I've found recently that if I have a packet about 1 hour before I go to bed I have a slightly better chance of losing weight the next day. 3 or 4/day makes no difference to above generalization.

    Restricted -- none since first 2 weeks when I was required to have one a day.

    Exercise -- try to walk at least 6,000 steps a day.

    restricted or not? yes, for the whole time. Maybe a cheat of a non-restricted... 1x/month? More recently, though, maybe 1x/wk? Although I *have* been allowing myself to have a drink or two if we go out, like 1-2x/wk, since I passed my original goal.

    exercise or not (at least 5 times a week)? yes, free weights 30 min 2-3x/wk, recumbent exercise bike 2-3x/wk, and if good weather, walking. How much? I live in the PNW, so the most has been an almost 3 hour 9+ mile hike (weekend, 1-2x/month max), the lunch average is 45 minutes (2x/wk if lucky).

    exercise - lots, lately, usually 300 min/wk for the last few months. Started about a week in, with like 20 min/2x/wk. Increased until I do what feels good (see above).
