gm - my coach said I had to take the multi-vit and the cal-mag for that reason, but my other supplements were okay.

I hope both the Melissas are doing well. They are much missed.

For the gals in Canada (MB, particularly) my daughter found the low carb ketchup at Superstore/Extra Foods. It is a Presidents Choise brand, called Blue Menu Ketchup sweetened with sucralose. For 1 tbsp it is 5 calories, 0 fat, 170 mg of sodium, 1 gr carb., 1g sugar, .2gr protein.....AND it tastes like real ketchup and only is $2.00 for a 990ml bottle!! I used 1 tsp on my IP omlet and it was great.

Have a great day Everyone!!!
Love it have been using it for a long time... it has the same counts as heinz 1 carb but wayyyyy cheaper.... and easier to find, Jordanna posted a recipe to make your own but this is the same counts also....

Default Generic brand pharmaceuticals vs alternative supplements

Also some add fillers that aren't good either.
gmfuzzy sorry to hear about your husband. I hope he's doing well.

There is a huge difference in thinking about substitutions in life-saving pharmaceuticals versus in supplements. I think as long as you're paying attention to the actual form and amount of the active ingredients in supplements you're fine. e.g. substitute 50 mg magnesium citrate for 50 mg magnesium citrate.

The difficulty arises when you substitute, for example, 50 mg citrate for 50 mg magnesium HVP chelate or 50 mg magnesium oxide. These different forms are absorbed in different proportions so the 50 mg isn't the same. HVP chelate is far more absorbable than citrate which is more absorbably than the oxide. HVP = hydrolized vegetable protein is also more expensive than other forms, and noticeably isn't used in the Natura products.

As with prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, if we're sensitive to non-active ingredients, then of course we have to pay attention to those as well.

Congrats to all the "losses"...

and Sending HUGS and PRAYERS to Erin...(replying to yesterdays post)

I have to share- with my 15 lb loss so far I was able to fit into a long skirt that I LOVE, that was hanging in the back of my closet..! I wore it to an American Girl Doll Tea today, held in town here. I was asked to style the 'dolls' hair. I brought $30 worth of small colorful hair accessories and styled 32 dolls in 3 hrs! Some 'little ones' got a braid or two in their hair to match their dolls. It was so much fun!! I took pics of the dolls only, and hope to upload them tommorrow morning before work on my picturetrail acct for all to view.
I can't believe how much prettier I feel with losing this weight!!! : )

Maybe we should THREADS like this-do a 4 day sunday thru wed thread and 3 day thursday thru saturday thread... ideas???

Hey there everybody! I am new to IP and this blog. Today was my first weigh in and I am down 8.6lbs. I honestly would have to say that I joined because of this website and the people on it and then after meeting my coach he was amazing. I feel good after the first week. My mom joined 2 days after me and I am very excited for her too.

Glad you're feeling good about yourself and that you had fun at the event. I'm with you, I love shopping in my closet! I actually bought a skirt at a consignment store that I'd love to fit into. It was seriously marked down to $10. I call it my "aspirational" skirt. I've got a few more aspirational items in my closet, but nothing from when I was last at my goal weight.

Thanks so much lcw! I am beyond thrilled and eagerly wait for my mom's weigh in! I was really lucky my coach started me with a great starting pack with lots of variety so it seemed so easy. Everybody on here is doing so well which was a huge motivator for me.

HOPEFULTRICIA - I posted to you on yesterdays thread because it wasn't closed. I don't know how to do it.

EVERYONE - Can't we go back to Monday - Friday Thread and a Saturday & Sunday? I feel like we're losing posts with daily threads.
