From what I've read on this board it seems to be common for people to bounce back and forth between losing inches versus pounds.

I've been strictly following the plan with no weight loss for 3 weeks although, my clothes continue to get more and more loose then I lost 3 lbs. one day and 1 lb. the next.

Ok, so I went to my WI. Not sure what to think. I'm down another 3 lbs, and I lost inches. I'm kinda surprised that I didn't lose more, as this is below what I've been averaging for a while. I'm not sure why, as I've stuck to protocol. I mentioned that I'd had several late nights last week, and didn't get as much sleep as I normally do, and she thought that my have slowed my loss down a bit.

I'm trying not to rely on the scale snapshot, and I'm glad I finally lost in the inches department. Anyway, I suppose it doesn't matter that much and I'm just going to stick to it.

Dave,

Congratulations on your 3lb weight loss!

My sleep has been messed up for the last couple weeks and my doctor also said that irregular sleep can alter weight loss.

Have you lost 100 lbs since you started in June?!?

Nope! I started IP in April, lurked on the boards for a while, and joined the forum in June.

Don't be disappointed in your clothing size not changing. That is mostly caused because you are tall. I'm 5'9" and though I gained 60lbs I only went up two sizes. I think that is why it sneeked up on me in the first place. Now I've lost 30lbs and only one size is some clothing types.

Try not to compare your clothing size to someone that is 5'3". They will see the clothing sizes come and go so fast!

I'm doing IP with my BoyF's mom and sister who are both under 5'5" and I sometimes get upset to see them shrink from a size 14 to a 8 with 25lbs lost. But they get upset at me because I'm losing weight much faster. Well I have much more muscle mass because I am a much larger person.

Long story made short...don't compare yourself to shorter people. Also look at the accomplishments of the "tall" posters on this board and see what their successes are. You'll find that your successes will match their's a bit more.

Keep smiling and keep going! You can do it!

I did the same thing a few weeks back. Was only sleeping about 2-3 hours a night and running non-stop for work and lost no pounds but a few inches here and there. The week following I was back to sleeping normally and lost 7.4 lbs so I think it has an effect on it for sure. Stress does as well.

Groovy! And good to hear that I'm not alone. As a guy (no offense to the ladies), I'm used to losing a fair amount each week, so to lose less than 4 lbs. is abnormal.
