I am ok with restrictions on a diet. it will take me a few days to adjust but I can do it. my hubby has been asking me if he can have bread or rice with what ever protein we eat at night and I tell him no. He is from Pakistan where rice, yogurt and bread are staples in the meals so that will be hard for him for a few days. I am from IA land of steak, potatoes and desserts LOL.

My weakness is sweets and iced coffee............but I need to lose weight and I can and will sacrifice those for a better looking moi :s:

We are starting tomorrow AM. and the challenge begins!

You'll do great! Once you get the rhythm.... IP is so easy...it is actually hard to switch it off when the time comes! Lots on here keep to some of the IP guidelines as they maintain. For those most successful, this is a lifestyle...not a short term diet.
Growing up ...and marrying Italian...there have been similar changes in my life even before IP. For example: no pasta...as I and our two daughters became Gluten Free a few years back. When your last name ends with a vowel..that becomes a lightning bolt! But the world goes on and we survived! BTW...the steak is still going to be allowed..very allowed! 8 oz worth in fact! And those big Iowa pork chops..yum!

Well we are starting tomorrow. The rest of the stuff I ordered will be here today SO I have no excuses what so ever. Ok one question with the Herb Omelet packet can I dice up a small mushroom and add it in and count that towards my 2 cups of veggies that I need to have?

Also somewhere in this wonderful thread I found a post where someone took the chocolate pudding packet added 1 cup of coffee and abt 8-12 oz of water and ice and blended it for a frappe type thing, can I take that one step more and pour it into popsicle molds and eat those during the day simply because I get such chocolate cravings? it would be packet #2 for me but is that do-able or no?

You can add any select veggies you want to the omelet. Yes, count them in your daily 4 c.
I make my chocolate pudding smoothie like this:
1 chocolate pudding packet (I prefer the dark chocolate but use milk chocolate now due to soy)
1 c raw spinach
8 oz cold coffee (we make extra & save for the next day's smoothies)
Shake pudding packet in cold coffee. Pour into blender with spinach. Blend well.
Add 8-10 coffee ice cubes.
Blend again

This makes a HUGE amount. You get in a cup of your veggies (you can do it without spinach, too)

I pour it into a 24 oz tervis tumbler AND another cup. You could certainly freeze some for a later treat. I have some before I leave the house in the morning and some about 10 am - pretty much splitting my breakfast.

wow 4 cups total per person per day? I thought it was 2....I just learned something new already LOL thank you!!

Do you have the Ideal Protein Phase 1 protocol?
Here is link to the protocols
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/4701599-post48.html

It is pretty clear there are 4 c. veggies required per day (and the allowed veggies are specified)

Please make sure you are starting the plan with ALL of the information!
Are you reading all of the threads here on the IP forum? There is LOTS Of info.

Best of luck! the first 3 days are getting use to the program. My stomach talked to me all the time for the first week, and after that, either I learned to ignore it, or it stopped because I was ignoring it... haha
You'll do great! This program is worth it!
As I learned quickly, from some very wise people on here, there is no excuse to cheat, because you are just cheating yourself....
Stay on plan, and you'll do great!

I got ya. Go ahead and remove your email address so you don't get unwanted email

Maybe Deana can remove it from her quote, too?

I notice that onions (white) are no longer listed in the select veggies? Did I just screw up my first day???

lisa32989 09-30-2013 02:08 PM
