The first week is often a huge adjustment for your body - and it is OK to use an extra packet during the first week if the hunger gets to be too much. The mentality is that it is better to have an extra packet than give in to a cheat!

Makes sense! I'm on day #3 and I already feel soooooo much better than the first two days. Yesterday I woke up with a headache that just would not quit. Today I feel great - no headache, lots of energy. Almost wish I could go work out! :D

The Phase 3 sheet is talking about nutritional content, not weight, when referring to grams of fat, carbs, protein, etc. Different foods will have different nutritional content so you are not going to find weight measures for what you are supposed to eat. That's one of the biggest challenges in Phase 3 - learning how to plan your meals based on the nutritional content. There are lots of resources both on this forum and on the internet to help with that planning, I use myfitnesspal.com to track my meals and will be using it to build my Phase 3 breakfasts when the time comes.

Just letting you know, myfitnesspal and the information I got from IP is not the same. Raspberries are worth 8 protien according to IP and only 2 on the website. I tried the website but decided that writing it all down was faster since my numbers were often different.

I am not sure where the info from IP came from, but 8g of protein is definitely not correct for a serving of raspberries - that's more protein than in a whole egg.

This site puts them at 1g protein per cup:
http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/...-juices/2053/2

And this one lists them as 1.2g protein per cup:
http://www.nutrition-and-you.com/raspberry.html

This one has them at 1.5g protein:

Are you referring to the Alternative IP protocol (meant for diabetics, people with hypoglycemia, or people who don't tolerate the regular protocol), or doing the IP plan with alternative products?

Hello, all....I have just woken up to day three of my odyssey. I was wondering how many have felt hungry the first few days? I did better yesterday, but that first day was a challenge to say the least! How long did it take for you to get into the groove of making packets, preparing food and stop feeling famished all the time? I am committed to NOT CHEATING, but man, is it hard!! I just keep telling myself my health is worth more than that cheat. Thanks for any info or feedback.

Hi. I started IP today with a friend. Have never posted on this sort of thing. Will try to do it correctly. Will read first as to not be redundant. Thanks all for the great info and encouragement.

Ideal Protein food

Do you have to eat their food or do you have other choices?

If you are going through an Ideal Protein clinic, most coaches won't work with you unless you are buying the Ideal Protein foods - they are, after all, trying to run a business. If you have the discipline and drive to follow the program without the accountability of a coach/clinic, there are numerous resources here on the forum for where to get alternative products, as well as all of the phase sheets posted in the sticky thread at the top of the forum.
