Hey Judi-
Hope you won't wait too long to post again! I replaced the camera I was using. It is a med. format manual Fuji fixed lens camera. They no longer manufacture it and I love it because it is very light weight. I was able to find another one in almost new condition from KEH. They have another in their stock. If I could afford it I would buy it because I think using it in my kayak tends to be hard on it. Had a nice time camping w/ the new group of people. Very different than other trips, but pleasant. Alice, Cheryl, and Cher, hope you had a good weekend. |
camera
Ledom, can you add other lenses to the camera? Medium format is so nice. I have a very old Hasselblad that I bought second hand. I rarely use it because the view finder is one of those old dark ones and of course the camera weighs a ton. But if ever my ship comes in (and it would have to do so sneakily because I have done nothing to make it sail) I would buy one of new Hasselblads.
I am hoping MT comes in today! -judi |
Hey all!!!!
I adopted a cat from the Humane Society Sunday! Don't have her at home yet, because she wasn't spayed. Gonna pick her up tomorrow from the vet's office. Hope she gets along with Baby! Gotta think of a name for her. She's a plain-old gray tabby. Seems like a great cat!! Cheryl |
ooooh, new kitty. Well that will be so much fun. I have a gray tabby, her name is Tweeg and she is 15. We love her, she has the sweetest disposition. Hope your new baby and Baby get along. Keep us posted.

Hello....
I've had a busy few days. My GF who came up to my house last Wed. left her cell phone in my car, so we met on Fri. for another lunch and MORE shopping, so that she could get her cell phone back. Sat. my cousin and his wife stopped in. We went out to dinner that night with them and some mutual friends and had a great time. Yesterday we had to go deliver some parts that DH made. :dizzy:
We are finally having a good stretch of weather. Went down to the garden center and got some flowers to plant in the planter at the end of our driveway. I just got in from doing that a few minutes ago. We've got to do as much as we can between rain storms. Cheryl, ooooh, a new kitty! Hope everything works out with her and Baby. It may take Baby awhile to get used to the new addition, but I'm sure they will become fast friends. I wish you many happy years with her. ledom, glad you had a good time on your camping trip. How are the costumes coming along for the play? You will do just fine with the undertaking. judi, did your MT come yet? When it does come and you have all the charts and such done, let us know how the plan is. I have been very curious about it ever since seeing it on HSN. Miz Lacee is fine. We brought her into Petco with us when we went to get her some dogfood and cookies. Surprisingly she was very good, which shocked DH & I. Smooches to Marley, Esteban, & Bentley. Hi Cher, hope everything is well with you. Enjoy the rest of the day. |
Hi all! I've been busy as a middle school guidance counselor doing all the end of year paperwork, scheduling, and filing--come home very weary and achy.
Ledom--Hope your costuming is progressing smoothly--would definitely be a challenge for me. Your Kayak trip--tell me more! I give you credit--I'd have been afraid to go off with 5 complete strangers!!!!! Judi--I know exactly how it is pre-diet--everything looks like the Last Supper. I think we all go through that prior to THE-Day. . . eating our favs like we'll never see them again--least for a while. :) Cheryl--How's your little tabby doing? I was reading an article just this past week that was lamenting how mannnny felines there were in the shelters needing adoption. Good for you! Alice, Judi, Ledom, Cheryl--all have a great week remaining. I'm having to cook tonight for a chocolate dessert contest I entered in a moment of insanity. I've been successful in contests before but I have to drive an hour to enter this one (Preferred Peanut Buttery Brownies) tomorrow night and it really doesn't fit my schedule. I'll let you know how I fare. --Cher |
I'm going to pick up the cat this afternoon!! Whoo-hoo!! I'm so excited! I just hope that she and Baby like each other!
I lost 4 1/2 lbs. at my weigh-in last night! I figure that first week's loss is mostly water weight, but I'm still happy with it! My goal for next week is to lose the other 1/2 lb. Ummmmm.....I want some Preferred Peanut-Buttery Brownies....I wonder what you'd have to do to be able to judge one of those contests...... Cheryl |
Hey guys,
cheryl - congrats on your 4 1/2 lbs. I'm jealous. Hope you are doing the happy dance cause that is fantastic.
Cher - ah, a guidance counselor. Good for you, well hope your final days go quickly and you enjoy your summer break when it starts. Yummmmm...those brownies sound good. Good luck w/ your contest. Alice, I am glad you are finally getting to set out your plants. That always makes me feel great in the springtime. I am in the process of starting two new beds. I am VERY slow at this, but I do enjoy it. judi, ah yes, the splurge before the diet begins. I know that feeling so well. We'll be leaving for about a week next Wed., a week from today. I am so not looking forward to it. It will be ok once I get going but I'll miss my kitties and I'll never be able to keep my diet and exercise routine. On that front my decision is just to let it go and not worry about what I should be doing. I do plan, however, not to eat like a maniac. I'll try to keep as close to my diet as possible and get some walks in. When I get back it will be time to start cycle 3 and that is something I have been working toward. The costuming has not really kicked in just yet. The costumes will be borrowed and next week we'll be going to try them on. I am sure that as the play gets closer, this will intensify. D is loving her theatre experience though backstage dynamics has her fighting off the men this summer. All older and inappropriate. I find this very stressful (as does she) and, to be honest, is the reason I let myself get involved in the first place-just so these pervs know that she has a big bad mama. Just when you try to let go, you realize they still need your help, a LOT! Anyway, she is focusing on her acting and I think maybe has fended off the brunt of the come-ons. Sigh! |
Good Morning!
Cheryl, that is wonderful about the cat!! Makes me want to go and get one too because the DH has taken our cat with him and I miss him SOOO MUCH (the cat!) But I don't think I should subject Marley to yet another cat presence since he is always contending for lap supremacy...he is loving it now that there is only him and me at home. Did you think of a name?
Alice, that is a hoot aout Lacee being such a good girl in Petco, it was because it was new and strange...take her there a few more times and she will take the place over:lol: The MT hasn't arrived yet and I am ANXIOUSLY waiting, I can't wait to begin. Cher I had a huge laugh at the "last supper" that is exactly what it is like!! Why am I making the job that much bigger for myself! Do you all remember how I quit wine for Lent? Well, since Easter I have had maybe a bottle all told and then decided to drink ciders and beer which I don't like as much so rarely drink them. Well, listen to this the arthiritis in my hands has really subsided. Could it be because I quit the wine? I put a ring on my right hand that I haven't been able to fit there since the 80's. Do you think the wine was making the arth. worse???? My hands don't hurt at all now. What do you all think???? You will have so much fun on your trip Ledom. Best wishes to your D. Who is looking after the cats? judi |
Ohhhhh, y'all!!
Baby does not like the new addition to her family AT ALL :( I named the new cat Birdie ('cause she likes to sit on my shoulder). When I brought her home, I put her in my smaller bedroom, with her own litter box, food and water dish. I opened the door last night while I was playing with her. Baby would come to the door, look in and hiss and/or growl at Birdie. Of course, the whole time I was playing with Birdie, I was saying her name over and over again so she'd learn it. This morning when I got up to get ready for work I couldn't find Birdie. I know she's still in the bedroom somewhere, she probably just found a dark corner in the closet (which I didn't have time to clean out to look for her this morning). Anyway, I was looking for her and calling "Birdie, Birdie-girl," and I noticed Baby hissing. Okay--my cat is SO SMART!! Baby already knows who "Birdie" is. Everytime I would say "Birdie" Baby would hiss and look toward the bed (because Birdie stayed under it last night). When I said "Birdie Birdie Birdie Birdie," Baby said "hiss---grrrrrrrrrrrl." I hope that Baby's jealousy doesn't make me have to get rid of Birdie. She's such a good cat, too. As long as I shut Birdie's bedroom door and stayed outside with Baby, she was fine. She ate and purred when we went to bed and everything. She stuck CLOSE to me, though, which is a little unusual for her. It'll be interesting to see how this cat thing plays itself out..... Sorry for the boring "all-about-the-kids" post!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheryl |
oops...
Cheryl, sounds like our house. Tweeg has never accepted the other cats, though after about 4 years she has stopped hissing so much at Bea. Brody just ignores and still sticks his face up to hers. He actually might be the one to wear her down. Give them time, how long have you had Baby? I think the older they are the less accepting of new cats they are. I personally love cat dynamic stories so you aren't boring me. Just make sure you give Baby lots of attention too. Love the name Birdie.
I wanted to tell you guys about my new discovery. Pressed coffee. I bought a new french press coffee pot and I can not believe how good the coffee tastes. I have been buying chocolate swiss almond flavor coffee and it tastes like heaven. |
Ledom, I have had Baby 2 years (in July). She was only about 4 weeks old when I brought her home, so she really is my Baby. Totally spoiled and, apparently, totally jealous! There's no way I could NOT give her lots of attention!
When I got Birdie from the Humane Society, the lady who worked there told me that they thought she was 9-months - 1-year-old. She's not phased by Baby at all (so far). I've got to go home on my lunch break to see if she's come out of hiding yet. :) |
Hi!
It's raining again today...mostly showers...what else is new?? They say tomorrow is supposed to be a fantastic day, so hopefully DH & I can get outside and start planting our flowers and tomato plants. We're putting them in right in front of the house, where we took some bushes out last year. We went to Walmart this morning to get some fencing material so that her nibs can't get in that area
Cheryl, congratulations on your 4 1/2 lb. loss. Keep up the good work. Baby will get used to Birdie. It takes awhile, but it will happen. We had 2 cats when we got our last dog (the dog before Lacee), and the cats would hiss and growl at her. The puppy was such a tiny little thing they used to corner her, torment her, and frighten her to death. Then Mommy would come to the rescue. They eventually got along. judi, I don't know what to think about the wine. Is there some way you can do a little research on the subject? HMMMM, that sounds very interesting. ledom, you will have such a good time on your trip. It'll be more enjoyable for you not to be too concerned with your eating and exercising. Cher, that's great you are a guidance counselor. I'm sure you must hand out a lot of good advice. How much longer do you have until your summer break? How did the dessert turn out? It sounds YUMMY!!! Take care and enjoy the rest of the day. |
Ledom--just wanted to check in with you and see how BRx is going. I haven't heard you say anything about it in awhile. Aren't you supposed to be getting close to Cycle 3?
Update, please. Cheryl |
Hey Cheryl,
Thanks for asking. Ahhhhh.....it is hard to know what to say. The thing I really need to do, lose weight, is not happening. Not yet anyway - fat burning or C3 starts on June 22 and I am really anxious to get to that point. I think I need to keep off the scale because not only am I not losing, some days I am up as much as 6 lbs. - it makes me wonder if I am doing it right, though I think I am.
I don't mean to sound negative, it's just that it seems to take the patience of Job. I will give you the positives. I am getting incredibly strong. My weights have increased more than I thought possible and my back and arms are really showing some nice definition. My arms when I flex, my back w/out flexing. OK, the other positive - there is no way one can experience hunger on this diet, quite the opposite in fact, sometimes I can barely get everything in and I don't eat near the carbs that are allowed. C3 will tell the tale for me. I look forward to being able to say whether it works or not - the investment of time before you get to that point is a lot. I will say that even if I don't lose, I can't discount how strong I have become and I don't think that can be a bad thing. I post on the BRx page over at L&S quite a bit. Some of the ladies are having much better loss results than I in the early cycles. I don't know what to make of it other than perhaps they haven't been dieting for the last 1/2 year already and therefore they are having an easier time losing, at least that is what I tell myself. I did 2 cycles of BFL, lost 16 lbs. on the first challenge and none on the second. So there you go, that's the latest. |
Hi there! TGIF!!!! Soooo tired today with filing and paperwork before I'm off next Wednesday (for 5 weeks). We're still deciding what kind of vacation to take. . . at this rate we'll decide when I'm back to work!
Cheryl--Congrads on your weight loss! That's a great amount for a week! How do you get the info listed beneath your post about your weight data??? I need to do that--will keep me motivated I think. I enjoy hearing about everyone's "kids"-expect some of my co-workers think/talk behind a friend's and my back about are seeming obsessive talk about our "kids" (she raises malamutes), but they bring so much joy--sometimes aggravation, ha! Ledom--What a super mom you must be! Hang in their for your D! Parents can't be too proactive. I've never had pressed coffee--but I'm not one who likes it dark, DH does though. LA limits me to one cup. . . so that's my a.m. treat (stretched to 1 1/2). I have noticed that my GERD has improved with less coffee drinking. I was drinking 5-6 cups a day minimum--getting headaches by mid-morning without my fix. Judi--I have no idea whether wine affects arthritis--will have to fill us in. I have a check-up the 12th and want to discuss my achy a.m. feet and my painful shoulder--suspect I've got some arthritis setting in. Seems like starting in to the 50s is taking its toll, but causes me to want to fight back, get thin again, gain strength to kayak, etc. Planning to go kayaking Sunday, weather permitting. After being chosen to actually make my chocolate dessert (brownies), I didn't win--but had a pleasant evening at the vendor expo and went out to eat after. A rich looking chocolate cake, and small, individual chocolate/raspberry tortes took the prizes. I took brownies to work today and gave my daughter some--getting that temptation far away. One of the judges was Mr. Hoffman of Hoffman Chocolates, but I don't think the other two lady judges were as famous, note-worthy. I apologize for being so long winded--guess I need to post more often and less. Have a great weekend! Cher |
It's Saturday!
Yesterday morning DH & I were out in the yard enlarging our garden. Tomorrow we plan on moving the lilies we have planted elsewhere in our yard to the "new and improved" garden. Physical labor like that makes one feel their age!:p After we finish with the lilies, we'll tackle the tomato plants we have to put along the front of the house. Yep, shoveling more dirt.
ledom, is cycle 3 the last cycle on BRx? If so, what will you do afterwards? You really have come a long way. judi, did your MT come this week? I am really anxious to see how you like the plan. Cheryl, is there any progress with Baby accepting Birdie yet? Cher, glad you had a good time with the recipe contest. Enjoy your 5 week vacation. Take care and have a great weekend. |
Good morning lovelies,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Cher, did you get out in that kayak? I had the most wonderful paddle yesterday morning up my favorite creek. This area has the most concentrated varieties of wildflowers and they grow in big patches. Yesterday I found a new one, Lizard Tail - it was amazing. My school teacher friend went along w/ me celebrating her first weekend out of school.
I'm leaving in the morning for vacation. Somehow I had in my mind that we didn't leave until Wed. I was so disappointed to discover that I don't have an extra day to get ready. Must clean out fridge and pack today and probably a bunch of other things I haven't thought of yet. I'll look forward to checking up on you all in a week or so though I will probably stop back into tonight for a last goodbye. |
Have a wonderful time on your vacation, ledom. Looking forward to hearing all about it. Glad that you had a good paddle over the weekend. Our weekend was and still is a wet one. What else is new??:( Take care and have a safe trip.

Hey ladies!!
Cheryl--go to the USER-CP at the top of the page and click on it. Once you get to your profile, you'll be allowed to add a signature line. I used to show mine, but I went through a "no-diet" phase and gained a ton. Maybe after I've lost a few more lbs. I'll update it and start showing it again. Ledom--Enjoy your vacation!! My mom and I are going to Branson this weekend. Of course, it's supposed to rain--seems like it always does when we go there.... Alice--the girls seem to be getting along better. They were chasing each other through the house Friday night. Not sure it that's good or bad--I think they were playing......Baby will actually let Birdie get up to her nose to sniff at her before she hisses now. I take that as progress. Judi-patootie--Where ya at, chick? Cheryl |
Hi! I was delaying posting so I could tell you about MT but WELL..... MT still hasn't arrived and I stepped on the scale and my eating got me 8 pounds in the wrong direction! WAHHHHHH! So now I am counting points until MT arrives. I can tell the diff too...all the new stuff I bought is tight. This "last supper" thing has got to be stopped.
I met a lady yesterday who lost 25 pounds just by giving up bread and potatoes (she eats no bread what so ever) and got a trainer 2 times a week for exercise. She lost the weight since Feb. She is in her fifties. I didn't find out any more arthritis and wine connection stuff. I am kind of surprised it was so easy to give up...I have been drinking it since the 80's and really loved it. Now I don't even think about it. Big squeeze to all the pets! |
Judi--I used to be so bad about the "last supper." I sympathize with you!!
I'd love to get a trainer, but whoo, the $$$$ Hey Ledom, Alice and Cher!!!! Ledom, hope you're enjoying your vacation! Alice, hope you're enjoying your rain :) Cher, take care and post soon!! Cheryl |
Finally....a beautiful day!
The lilies have all been transferred..finally!!:cb: Neither one of us realized just how many we had. Then we had to shovel more dirt to fill the holes where we dug the plants out. The tomato plants are in too. We had to put some sort of fencing in front of the tomato plants to keep her nibs out of the area.
judi, don't worry about the weight gain. Once you start MT it will come off quickly. That's great you don't miss wine. I honestly think it's more of a habit. I don't drink wine during the week. I save it for the weekends, but sometimes even then I don't really enjoy it. That must be nice to have a personal trainer. Cheryl, glad to hear that the kitties are getting along better. How did your weigh in go at WW? Your trip to New England must be getting closer. Hopefully all this rain will have ended. You can bring the warmer weather with you. :s: ledom, hope you're having a great time. Enjoy your evening ladies! |
Well, I feel encouraged--after last week's 1 lb. lost, I shed 2 1/2 at yetserday's weigh-in. It's sloooowww going--but little by little I WILL make goal by my birthday in November. I actually felt encouraged to tone up with Richard Simmons last night. . . need head there now. :)
Has been rainy here, too--so no kayaking. Planned to go Friday--but will be watching two grand-daughters. My daughter will be induced Thursday morning and I'll get them from the other grandparents Friday. Instead of kayacking we'll be looking at baby in the nursery and going to see Nemo. I'm always glad to have my DH with me to watch them--he's their "buddy", so much more fun and entertaining than I. Good luck with your programs this week. Cher |
its judi
Hi gals! Nice to read everyone posts.
MT arrived yesterday so I spent the morning putting together my binder, watching the video etc. It is very restrcictive, sounds quite a bit like BFL and is more restrictive then what would Jesus eat diet plan. NO bread of any kind for 6 weeks. But that is ok. I need something like that. My plan (with God's help) is to do it for 6 weeks then take maybe a 2 week break with counting ww POINTS then do another 6 weeks. I COULD if I stay on it reach the break thru the 200 mark that Ledom and I have for 2004. I am looking forward to doing it. It also has 2 18min. sessions of resistance training a week that targets your own specific trouble areas. In my case my upper torso and stomach. If you want to speed up things you can do walking. They have a phone-in place which I tried already and the person was helpful and a web site similiar to this. Hi Ledom! How is the trip going? Big hi to both Cheryls and a squeeze to Alice and Laci. Got to go EAT :) (about every 2 hours...the waking ones anyway) Also 100 ounces of water:p |
judi, YAY!!! MT finally arrived. Glad that you will enjoy doing this. Good luck to you and keep us posted to your progress. How long did it take you to put it all together? I have no doubt that you will succeed in your goal this year. That is good you will be mixing things up because you won't get bored that way. Lacee sends some doggie kisses to you.
Cher, congratulations on your weight loss.:bravo: Also congratulations are in order for the new addition to your family. Hi Cheryl & ledom. Enjoy the rest of the day. |
itsa judi
Alice, tell Lacee I enjoyed those kisses:love:
Well, it is 10:03 pm and I made thru the day. Lots of food...I can't eat my last fruit. This is how the day went. 2 egg whites/1/2 cup oatmeal (no milk or sugar) 2oz. tuna/salad greens asparagus, green beans (no dressing) and 1 tangelo spinach/2 0z. prawns stir fry (no oil) 1/2 cup cold oatmeal (unadorned) 1 small apple/ 1egg 2 oz tuna/1 Can mushrooms over 1/4 potato and a salad of cucumbers, tomato, onion - no dressing no salt on anything and I drank 64 0z. of the 100 oz of water. THe food has to be eaten in certain combinations ex: protein/fruit etc. It all depends on your body type. I am a type A the most shut down metabolism type so most carbs are a no no. I am only allowed fish (or chicken..which I don't eat) some other body types can have beef or pork. It took me most of yesterday to get my info in my binder and read it, still feel a bit lost but went looking over at the Provida site and it is informative. My WW friend came over and she is Body type C, so I gave her all the body type C stuff. THe kit I think was def. worth the money. I am certain it will work if I am faithful to it. I wasn't hungy but my stomach was growling. I had salt cravings like crazy...I saw someone eating a bag of chips and I wanted to run over, grab that bag of chips and stuff them into my mouth.:s: Today was my birthday. 53 years old! Yesterday I got some platinum streaks in my dark hair to celebrate. THe DH sent me flowers and bought me a lladro figurine. What a sweet guy! oh, another thing there is NO bread for 6 weeks...waugh!! but that is ok because bread and cheese and p. butter is my downfall, none of those other things either. On the tape there are those hilarious (to me) testimonials of how people went from a size 8 to a 2 etc. Like my WW friend said "I haven't been a size 8 since grade 3!" |
TGIF!
judi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, girl!! :hb: :gift: :balloons: Your birthday gifts sound awesome! Glad that you did something good for yourself, you must look great with your new do. Lacee was very happy to send some kisses your way. She just loves to give kisses to anyone that will let her. DH & I call her a kissin' fool! I was wondering what kind of protein you would eat where you are a vegetarian. You really will not miss the bread. When I was doing a low carb woe I got in the habit of a HUGE salad for lunch, and I prefer that to a sandwich. A sandwich makes me feel:p Can you have artificial sweetener at all? If you can have it, and if you can find s/f maple syrup, preferably made w/Splenda, it is delicious in oatmeal. It sweetens it, (if you like it sweet), and adds some flavor. What kind of flavoring can you put on your salads? You know, the people on those testimonals or in weight loss ads who are so thrilled at going from a size 6 or 8 to a size 2 make me laugh. I can't remember ever being able to squeeze into a size 6. JEEEESH! I think I was a size 12 for 3 minutes one time!
Hi everyone  Have a great day and enjoy the weekend. |
Boston kisses
Those Bostons are the best smoochers aren't they? When I get on the phone to my D. and she puts Bentley on the phone "I say are you my Boston from Boston?" (He is reallly a Boston from Saskatchewan) and he I hear him slurping all over the reciever and my D. says he is wiggling and kissing the phone like crazy. My Lhasa will give several calm licks but only to me.
Thanks for telling me about the sweetner. I will look for it. So far I haven't found anything for salads because it can't have fat or sugar. I made a greek salad without the feta or oil and just put a bit of balsamic on it. We are enjoying the good weather here on the island. I hope Alice, your weather if finally treating you right! Big Hi and enjoy the weekend everyone! |
Where is everybody??
I am lonely...here by myself.
I am on Day 4 ofthe MT program, so far so good. Good thing I started eating fish again or it would be darn near impossible to do. already I feel so much better...I think it is doing without the fat and the simple carbs. I stepped on the scale...it looks pretty good but I won't jinx it, I will tell you on THursday that will be week one done. Hope you are all basking somewhere:cool: |
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Sat. it rained...of course...but Sun. was delightful. It felt more like fall than spring. But, at least the sun was shining. We are in for a few days of nice weather.
judi, the other night I was flipping through channels and came upon MT's infomercial. I immediately thought of you and watched it. Some of the testimonials are fantastic. How are the strength training exercises coming along? I am glad that you are liking this woe. What happens after the 6 weeks are over? Do you add some foods that are forbidden for the 6 weeks? Looking forward to Thurs. Yep, Boston's love to smooch. I got a kick out of Bentley licking the phone when you're talking to him. That's cute! ledom, hope you're having a good time. Hi Cheryl..Cher Have a wonderful day everyone. |
Hey, ladies!! Back from vacation--just wanted to drop in and say hey!
Judi--MT sounds great! Hope the plan works for ya! Alice--glad you're finally getting good weather. Hey Cher & Ledom!! Cheryl |
good morning
Alice, after 6 weeks most people have lost the weight that they want to and then can have a "crazy day" eating whatever and go back on the plan for 6 days to stay slim or they can add more foods from the C list, which is red meat or more carbs etc.
What you do if you still need to lose weight as in my case is just stay on. I will have on crazy day at the beginning of the next six weeks and then keep on with the MTM. I haven't started the 2 18 min work out sessions yet. Yesterday I watched the video on how to do the exerecises properly. I think I will do them Mon. and Thur. There is set 1 you do on one day and set 2 you do on the next. I barely can eat all the food though if I count out calories it is not a lot or points but somehow I am feeling stuffed. I think the big key is not having any white flour things or sugar...which is the same as the what would J. eat diet. I like the tapes...MT explains what is happening so well. Have a good day everyone! |
Good Morning,
judi, that is wonderful you are so enthused about MT's woe. I think it's how many times you are eating a day plus the combination of foods that you are eating is why you're not hungry. I went into his website and noticed you could do a free blueprint. I was curious as to what type I was and answered the questions.....a number of times. The first time I answered them I turned out to be a D. I had just skimmed over what it said. Later on I wanted to read it over, went back into his site, answered the questions..again...this time it said I was an E. I thought....HMMM, this is interesting. So I did it a third time thinking, I had probably either not checked or checked a box on the first time around, and whichever type came up, D or E that would be it. Well...the 3rd time I was a C! To make a long story short, I did it 2 more times many hrs. apart. I think C is the answer!  As you can tell I have nothing else better to do.
Cheryl, it's good to have you back again. Did you enjoy yourself on your vacation? Have a great day everyone. |
Hi everyone!
Judi--Sounds like you're having a great time with MT. Glad to hear it arrived and catch your enthusiasm! LAWL promote 5 mini-meals, not every 2 hours--but I'm sure both serve to keep our metabolism up and burning. LAWL doesn't want you to eat later than 4 hours before bedtime--THAT was a big change, but my evening tv snacking did get me in trouble. The Woman's Diet book says all over 50 women may never be able to tolerate carbs--but I'm finding that the 2 allowed by LA haven't prevented my losing. Speaking of 50s--congrads on your birthday!!!! Sounds like you did it up right. Alice--Thanks for congrads on grandbaby and weight loss--baby and mommy are doing great--me too, lost another 2 lbs. at yesterday's weigh-in. Can finally feel it in my clothes. I don't remember a size 8 ever (what's a 2?), born an 11/12 I think. My DH keeps saying, "Don't buy any more food--we're leaving for vacation," but we dieters need our fresh fruits and veggies. I need pick up mushrooms and peppers this morning to make evening shrimp kabobs. Weather permitting (or not) they'll be on the grill. It's scheduled to rain every evening this week! Have you tried Talapia fish? It's great--no fish smell/taste. I spray a nonstick pan with PAM and that spray, no-calorie butter and cook it on medium. Have a great week that sees us all thinner. Mornin....
It's turning cloudy and it's supposed to rain again later today and part of tomorrow.:( DH just went out to mow the lawn before it starts to rain. With all the rain we've been having it seems like he's out there every other day!:D
Cher, Congratulations on your weight loss! :dancer: You really are doing fantastic. I've never heard of Talapia fish. Is it something that you can only get in FL? If I ever see in on a menu somewhere I'll give it a try, as that's my type of fish...no fishy taste or smell.:s: I am not a fish eater, other than shellfish. Glad that mom and baby are doing well. Do you have a grandson or granddaughter? Hey ledom, judi, Cheryl. Have a great day everyone. |
Goodmorning!
LAWL I wonder if the plan is similiar to MT??? I believe that totally about women over 50 not being able to tolerate carbs well. Probably because we have had so many in our life time...I know I was raised on the stuff and naturally pick simple carbs to eat if not following any program.
I am having so much more energy these last few days...I don't know if it is the water or no wheat at all in my diet plus no sugar. I am walking but still haven't started the toning exercises. Tomorrow will start week two. Tomorrow is weigh in day...it is going to be the best it has been in a LONG while:D I too Alice am not much of a fish eater also preferring shellfish but since I have been on this week on the MT I feel like I have eaten a whole school of tuna myself...not a nice thought for someone who is supposed to be a vegetarian...well, I will have to be a fish-atarian. My WW friend is a type C too...they actually have the best menu plan I think. She is going to MT just get back to her WW goal weight. Ledom, I hope you are having a great holiday. Goodmorning the Cheryls and everyone else who is popping by! |
Good morning everyone! Weather is consistent here with your report Alice--rain every day and if DH doesn't keep up with it, we've a field!
Granddaughter is doing well and I'm trying to help with errands, meals, and carrying the 4 and 8 yr. olds to scheduled summer camp and VBS--and keeping them spells to give mom a break. The oldest went shopping with me yesterday, played games, and made cupcakes--all but two I saved for my DH went home with her. :) I don't know if Talapia is FL or not--but I get it in the frozen seafood department at Walmart, by the shrimp, scallops and whitefish. Judi--hope your weigh-in today makes for a hurray-day. Actually any day not gaining is a hurray-day--but, oh how I love to see the lbs. heading downward. You've been so motivated with MT, I know you'll be rewarded. I'm not fond of tuna--so I don't mind that it's very limited on LAWL, like once a week, like salmon. Have a great day all. Cher |
Ledom? Have you gone kayaking? :) Haven't heard from you in a spell. Hope your BRx efforts are paying off.
I need clarification from anyone (Ledom, Cheryl, Alice, Judi)--still vague on these abbreviations--please explain BRx, L&S, and BFL to me. I promise not to ask again--because you may have gone into this earlier??? And any other terms you think a poster here should be aware of besides the three I know (WW, MT, LAWL). Thanks much. Cher |
judi is grinnin'
I lost 7 1/2 pounds on week one:D (but remember I did gain 8 while waiting for MT to arrive:o ...with all my "last suppers")
I took Marley for a walk yesterday, we walked for an hour. At one point he lay down in the grass with his legs front and back sticking out...sheesh we both are out of shape. BFL is "Body for Life", I am not sure about the other abbreviations. The weather here is wonderful and it is so nice with the long days. Still bright very late. THe DH is still in Ca. with the cat. Cher it must be so much fun to have grandchildren. I would love it. Have a good day all! |
