Newsflash! Woman arrested for snorting cologne cards at the cosmetic counters of various stores. Film at 11! Oh yeah, Cafe, you tryin' to get me in trouble??? Seriously, several of us were daring each other to ask but we never summed up the courage. Wish they were back again today. Still feelin' feisty!

And hey look!!! Dyan's back! And she's "not alone"!!! Congratulations Dyan!!!!! I think it's great news! Forget all the "we can't afford another baby" stuff. Just take care of YOU!! And good luck :crossed: with the job search and the big move. Keep in touch with us ... or else!

So Semo, is it 5:00 yet? Another hour and a half here! Then off to more sweatin' and pantin'! Uh, exercise that is. :o

Have to go. The Friday afternoon rush to get it all done is on! Boss is busy cleaning (i.e. pushing around piles of junk) his office. Lots of it seems to be spilling out onto my desk. Yeah, yeah. Monday. :p

Hope you all have a great weekend. Cafe, I'll see what I can do about that cologne. Even if it means travelling to Paris. Hey, it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.....

Cafe976 04-11-2003 06:39 PM

Paris??? Well, shoot, I'm coming too!! LOL!

Have a great weekend everyone.

brighterdays 04-11-2003 09:19 PM

Goodness sakes! I've been missing so much.....!!!!

Dyan: Congratulations on the baby! Good to see your posts again! We missed you, girl!!

Sorry I haven't been around---nursing a sinus infection with some bad tasting medicine and lots of sleepless nights. Still managing to drag myself to work (the boss is gone and I'm covering) but I've looked like crap!

DNW: now that's our fearless leader! WTG on getting on track!

SEMO: did you see the :censored: SNOW the other day? I tried to ignore it so it would go away fast! I am happier with these 60-70 deg. days---gotta get back to that spring weather. WTG on the exercise---you are my hero!

Hey Huntress, we had those 30's too! Had to drag out the winter coat, again!

Hey to Jello,Tiger, Quilter, Kayla and Tiff.

Gotta go....roots to dye, dishes to wash, clothes to launder, house to straighten. Tanning tomorrow again....a bit of a weird experience for a first timer like me. Haven't seen much difference with the first visit but I know it takes awhile. It has been nice on the really cold days, though.

Take care and have a nice weekend all!

I forgot to say hey to Cafe....how ya doin, girl! It's so hard to stay with one program these days. So much information swirling aound us! I am still with WW because it works but I struggle with these plateaus I'm hitting.

Gotta go.

Dyanm1 04-12-2003 12:56 PM

Thanks Huntress, Jello & Brighter!! I think I'm still denial!! Every now and then it'll hit me like a ton of bricks! I'll just look over at DH and kinda smile. I know I'm such a dork!

Not sure about going to Utah next week, the guy didn't call DH and this trip pretty much resolves around that......Can I just tell you that the uncertainty of it all is killing me!!

I am so glad to see all my old friends here!! i wasn't sure what to expect. :grouphug:

Have an awesome weekend everyone!!

huntress 04-13-2003 08:08 AM

HEY DYAN! Gosh it's great to see you again! I've been wonderin about and missing you a lot. Congratulations on the new baby! Oh, that's just wonderful news. I'm so excited for you!

Hello, to everyone else. I just had to "pop" in here when I saw Dyan's post but I have a million and one things to do today since I've spent most of the weekend running the streets.

Catch you all later............

Jello 04-14-2003 08:33 AM

Monday already!? :( Bummer. This weekend was great! The weather was beautiful and I did tons of yard work. We've had this corner of the yard covered in these old ugly chipped slate tiles and I decided I couldn't live with it any more. So I got my shovel and my pry bar and my wheel barrow. Hours later, they're all stacked up in a corner and now I've got a large area of wonderful, rich, dark soil just ready for some serious planting. And meanwhile, I got more exercise than any treadmill could possibly offer. Have I mentioned that I LOVE  spring time!!!!

This is amusing. I have this bird feeder that attaches to the outside of the kitchen window. It has a little two-way mirror thing in it so that I can see the little birds come into the feeder but they can't see me so I can watch them. Well, I got up Saturday, looked out the window and the little feeder was "full" of one big ol' squirrel. While I didn't appreciate the little brat eating all the seed, it was pretty funny to see him wedged in there. Hm, now I have to find a way to squirrel proof that one just like the other ones.

Dyan, I'm sorry about the uncertainty. That's the worst part of anything, isn't it? I had a possible job change about 3-4 months ago but it didn't work out. Disappointing but I'm glad the waiting part is over.

Cafe, sorry. Didn't get to any men's fragrances counters this weekend. And those visitors flew back home to Paris without asking me if I'd like to accompany them. The nerve. Just as well, I suppose. Instead I spent the weekend sniffing the new spring flowers! Yay!

Brighter, feel better soon. I hear those sinus infections can be tough. :(

I guess I'd better go. It's officially starting time and none of the other "phone girls" are in. Not a good sign. Could be a loooonnnnnng week.....

Tigerlily 04-14-2003 08:59 AM

Monday Funday! hey, I can pretend.:p
I'm with Jello, weekend went way too fast. It didn't help that I had the slug disease. I think it came from my "last banquet" during the week. I did mow, but it's a rider.:^:

DYAN! Glad to see you back, and congrats! :bb:

This is my first week of Atkins. I'm still learning how to do it, so I may be mud'lin through it the first few days. I am going to allow myself 1 or 2 cups of lite coffee...just this first week.....ween off it. I was drinking 3 to 4 cups of regular. I tried to take my measurements...I think I need professional help. And, I weighed in at 196.5.
I don't have an exact goal weight. 150's, 160's? anywhere in there and I'd be happy. I just want to be able to dress in front of DH w/o hide'n in the dark or ducking into the bathroom. And, I'd like to be able to wear a regular size XL....and it still fit me AFTER it has been washed. Is that asking too much?!

Hey Bright, how are the roots? I've never been brave enough to color myself. :chicken:

On squirrels....our neighbors have so many wild rodent cats that there are no squirrels at my house! Just mangy, inbred, wild cats. Instead of eat'n the bird seed, they eat the birds!

better get busy...
:df:

Cafe976 04-14-2003 09:46 AM

Happy Monday, girls!

Did I mention that I've taken Hump Day off this week? So this will be a fun one for me. Tomorrow's Friday and Friday is Friday. :)

So I'm on plan today too! With an extra day off this week, stress is no excuse. I didn't wake up early, though so I'll be walking during my lunch hour.

Bright, I'm going back to counting points for now too. It's a way to measure and that's what I really need right now. It works, it's good enough. Just need to add together a long string of days doing the basics. I'm not sure exactly why or where I've fallen down motivation-wise, but my biggest goal is to break that chain. babysteps! (sorry to hear about the sinus, BTW.)

Huntress, hope you didn't run anyone DOWN out on the streets this weekend.

Jello, Don't let those phone girls get you down. They obviously didn't have the lovely weekend you did, or they'd be out of bed by now... Keep that feeling!

Tig, Weaning is always the better idea where coffee is concerned. {shudder} You can do it, girl! Drink your debil water and let us know how it's going.

So Dyan, have you been thinking about Names??? I bet we could come up with some interesting ones for you. :s:

SEMO's probably posted while I'm typing (hi!).

SEMO 04-14-2003 10:33 AM

Hi girls! Worked on the house all weekend, washed clothes and hung them on the line.... OMGosh, I love sheets that have been on the line on a breezy day! DH and I went out to eat and to a movie Sat night, we saw "Anger Mgt" Cute movie. STAYED LEGAL TOO! Also, I have to do a brag here.... Sat night I wore a pair of 14 khakies, I admit they were a little snug in the waist but not to the point of misery. and they weren't butt cutters either! (That's what my Aunt used to call them:) ) So even tho the scale isn't moving big time, I'm at least seeing some progress in losing inches.

The guys worked this weekend so I am covered up here. Glad to see everyone posting again.... Quilter, you are missing roll call, at least pop in for a quick hello.

Gotta run.

Tigerlily 04-14-2003 02:25 PM

Butt Cutters  I've got one for ya...camel toe :o

Well, there's nothing like starting a new way of eating to make a person feel stupid. I don't know which end is up, but I'm giving it my best shot.

Breakfast: 3 eggs fried in real butter, 1 TBS feta cheese, 1 beef smokie link, sugar free lemonaide.
Lunch: 1 piece sauteed grilled chicken, 1 cup spinach leaves w/spoon of bluechees dressing, olives and 1 string cheese, water.

Does it look like I'm low carbing?:?: My poor brain, I've ripped my gears. I sure hope I have great energy in a couple days and quit thinking about the bleep'n cereal in the cupboard.:s:

QuilterInVA 04-14-2003 02:31 PM

Hello, ladies - I think I can finally see over the mound of work. Got a new receptionist 2 weeks ago, had to let her go on Friday. It may be for the best because my excellent morning girl told me she needs full time work - having separated from her 2nd husband with 3 children (3, 9 and 12) and she's only 28. She does great but she has to get her 3 year old into day care so can't take on the afternoon until later in the week so it's me against the world again. Boss is in Michigan until Wednesday so that helps.

Sun finally came out ... we had so much rain and I was really getting depressed from it. In my case, depression = FOOD! However, I haven't gained so even though I haven't lost I consider that a victory. Now that the weather is getting better, I'll be able to get back walking as soon as the allergies get under control a little better. Trees are wicked this year!

DNW 04-14-2003 04:50 PM

Help I'm Drowning In Work

Quilter: I hear you about the rain and getting depressed...the sun finally came out yesterday and you cannot believe how energetic I feel when it's Springlike and beautiful outside...sounds like you are up to your eyeballs in work too!!

Tiger: Good luck on the Atkins...I couldn't handle the bad breath and not being able to poop anymore so I never tried it again...but it works beautifully for some folks...drink lots of water though or your kidneys will suffer for it.

Dyan: I am so thrilled about your pregnancy...and God bless you with 3 in tow already...some women are just natural born Moms. Hope you have an easy pregnancy!!

Semo: Don't :faint:...but I actually got up at 6:30 AM and walked today and I feel great...going to try again tomorrow cause I am so jealous of your size 14s...just bought pants and I am still a 20...duh...I wonder why???

Cafe: Good luck with the points counting. Sounds like everyone is ready to lose again...I know I am.

Jello: Kill those phone girls...I hope that they are the lowest paid girls in the company....they make my Jello so aggrevated all the time...a pox on them! :smug:

Huntress: Running in the streets...if I ran..well it's not pretty...glad you are posting though!

Brighter: Good luck with your plateau...they are God's way of saying, "Even though you're starving I'm going to make this diet even more grueling". :dizzy:

Smooches!!! :grouphug:

Cafe976 04-14-2003 05:00 PM

SEMO - Way to go stayin' legal! I'm sure those TINY khakis you were wearing helped the motivation, tho. You are doing awesome - keep up the good work. You prove to me that I can do it.

Butt cutters - camel toes - I guess it's spring!?!

Tig - sounds like you're low-carbing your little heart out. Nice work getting that nutrient-rich spinach in there. What cereal in the cupboard? It doesn't exist.

Quilter - sorry to hear you had to do the firing as well as the hiring. A person would think it wouldn't be too hard to show up and answer phones. But I suppose Jello can tell us about a few who can't... Glad to hear you didn't suffer any gains. (that sounds weird, yet makes a strange sort of sense...)

I'm at 48 oz. of water down and counting! Don't tell me you can't drink while you're at your desk, LOL. Hey, it's springtime... do you think Tiffany will come out and play?

Edited to add:

DNW - Yes I'm ready to lose and I'm glad you are too. Well done on the gettin' up early - I did my walk over lunch.. and worked up a little baby sweat too. :smug:

Tigerlily 04-14-2003 05:13 PM

Semo, is it beachbodies.com that you are doing? same as power90? i've been seeing their infomercials. looks like it has a lot of variety.
i'm still searching for the right "at home" workout.
