Cafe: where's my story, girl???? I came on here expecting to hear of warm tropical winds and sandy beaches....
Jello: I'm starting to feel like you at work....can't wait for those last few hours on Friday--it is definitely a countdown for me. The weekend is my only sanctuary...never use to be that way....I think it's the stress.
SEMO: You go, girlfriend! Where is all this energy coming from? Please let me in on your secret! I was enjoying the sparing match between you and Jello yesterday....you all are so darn funny....
Where is Sarge? She needs to get this springtime booty camp on track.....Oh, Sarrrgggeee......Where are you...??????
Huntress is gone to LV....that girl is gonna win big one of these days!
Today, I'm off to shop and walk with a sister. We hiked last week up and down this woodsy path and I'm terrified of snakes so I had my own homemade "walking pole" (a nice long stick). We did good until on the way back when it was mostly up hill. I'm getting old, girls! Those hills don't come as easy as they use to but I made it without passing out, thank goodness!!!!!
I've got 5 more #s before I hit my 10% loss mark....hoping to make it before my birthday next month! Maybe with the extra exercise I will get there by then. I'm hoping that once we get our nice weather (at least in April), I can get in more time outside with my gardening and running around, and the pounds will fall off easier. I'm sure everyone is thinking that way too.
Gotta go....alot of things to do before I leave. Have a great weekend, all!
OK troops let's get our butts in gear 'cause Spring is here....Ya-h-o-o-o!
Get a spring in your step and a muzzle on yer mouth and you're set to conquer them food demons....are you all with me?
Oh well enough of the sarge stuff, hope everyone is OK...I have been buried in work for the past week or so with no end in site. Raises stunk and bonuses were pactically nonexistent.
But I have my motivation and my girls at 3FC so what else do I need???? I need to get healthy and get slimmer so I will be healthy.
Welcome, ramsgirl! We are experiencing a warmup in this part of the country....how's your weather?
I just did a 1 1/2 mile hike again this am---red-faced and warm now. The weather is perfect in the 60's...I'm afraid it won't last! I guess I'll check the forecast.
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Sunday and hopefully some sun in your area today to enjoy!
Well I'm back, I swear it seems like I've been gone forever from here!
Weirdest thing, it rained in LV this weekend. I've never been there when it did that, EVER. Had a great time as usual. Visited Starbucks several times too. I'm pretty tired and need to get ready for work.
What are the changes anyone has made towards a healthier lifestyle that have STUCK...even when ya slip off the wagon?
I need a boost! I'm in that "I'll do better tomorrow" state of mind and can't seem to snap out of it.
Welcome ramsgirl
Bright, the hiking sounds wonderful.
My kids have a 2hr school delay. FOG. My whole day is gonna be out of whack now.
Monday Monday Monday..... Ah but it's supposed to go to almost 70 degrees and I'm leaving at 2:30 for an appt. and then to go out and PLAY!!!!! I believe a bit of shopping is in order. Just cuz.
Rich and I played hooky from doing the floors on Saturday and went down to play the slots at Delaware Park. Girls, I had the midas touch!!! Every single machine I touched, I swear! Once I was waiting for my 200 quarters to spit out of one machine so I put some quarters in the one next to it. One spin and I've got 800 more quarters!!!! Oh if only I was so lucky in weight loss.
Speaking of which, we were driving home from the Home Depot yesterday and at a previously empty building (about a 10 minute walk from my house) there's a big new sign: COMING SOON - CURVES!!!! Wooo Hooo!!! Is that a sign or what!?!? Hope it opens soon so I can get back into moving the old body on a regular basis!!
Bright, good for you and the hiking! Sounds like a great idea now that the weather's warming up finally!
Tiger, I know that state of mind too well. I just keep thinking that something's going to happen to change me and my way of looking at this weight loss thing. But it's always "tomorrow".
Huntress, sorry about the rain but it sure beats snow, eh? Hope you had a great time anyway.
Ramsgirl, welcome! I've seen you a couple times around the forum. Welcome to our little corner of it! This really is a FUN place to be.
DNW, aye aye Sarge! Yes ma'am! Been waiting for that band wagon to roll by so I can jump on! Hope the weather out your way is getting nice like ours.
Have to go. Snuck out on the boss at 5:00 last Friday (how dare I!??!) because he hinted around that I should stay and do more of the work that he let slide until the last minute. NOT! Just walking out seemed like a good idea on Friday but now I'm dreading his arrival this morning.
Ah phooey on him. I'm leaving early to go shopping!!!
Well chickos, I had a great weekend. Took it out on the dance floor and shook it around at a wedding Saturday. Now that's what I call a whole lotta shakin! But I had a great time. Springtime is just singing in my heart.
Tiger: The biggest thing that's "stuck" for me through good times and bad is the habits in and around my workplace. They have become almost second nature. Drinking water at my desk, and knowing how many times I should fill that glass per day. Not going out "hunting" for snacks because I'm out of that habit. When I pack my lunch (which SHOULD be every day with my budget) I don't have to think about it for it to be in the right range to make a successful (read within range) day. The bucket of pretzels 8 feet away doesn't do much for me, but if I want I know how many to count out to make 1 WW point. Those are the good things that have "stuck" even though you know that I myself have BEEN stuck for a while.
Oh, work is calling. Darn it. I'll try to stop by later.
Good Morning Ladies, and a big welcome to Ramsgirl.
It is sooooooooo pretty here today, sun is shining after a little fog this morning and we are ROLLING right and left. Phones are ringing off the wall and trucks coming and going. Had to leave and make a delivery a few min ago. I was the only one that could get loose long enough to go.
Where's Quilter, she hasn't checked in for awhile. Oh Quilter.....where are ya?
Kids were home over the weekend and brought their new puppy, guess I'm a Grandmamma after all. At least they tell me it's as close as I'm gonna get for a while.
Everyone sounds so UP today, good sign that spring has begun.
Huntress, the only time I've gone to LV they had a cool front come thru and I nearly froze. I only had summer things with me.
Kid-o's gotta jet......... looking at some big OT this week.
BTW- down three pounds with the low carb diet.
Tig, Exercise was and is my mainstay. Get up, get it over with!
I did it Semo...got some exercise!
Whew, went outside and worked for an hour and (are you sitting down)...broke a sweat! Raking, pulling dead plants, picking up sticks. There are many more hours of work ahead...one hour at a time. Spring! Just what I needed!
Holy Cow, where is everyone? How am I suppose to drink my coffee w/o anything to read?
Girls, you'd be proud. I got in another hour of outside excercise/work later in the day yesterday. My arms feel like (cant say jello) noodles today. And, I pulled my handy dandy notebook out this morning...gonna log food intake again!
Ah, an afternoon off to shop! Just what the doctor ordered. Didn't buy much, just a couple of sweaters on the discount rack, but had a great time just wandering from store to store.
And here's a great story for you! I was in a store called The Dress Barn just looking around. The sales clerk came over to tell me about the sale going on, buy one dress, get a second at half off. OK so I started over to the dress area and was heading for one rack and she stopped me and said "oh those are the plus size dresses, they'll be too big for you".
Huh!!! Why, uh, gee, thanks!
Didn't try on any dresses (didn't want to prove her wrong ) but just lived in the moment for a while. Then proceeded over to the plus size section for my sweaters anyway. Reality check.
Shoot. Work just dumped on my desk. Have to run....
Hi girls, I am so bleeping mad, got an e-mail this morning about the update they did last week. Half of the invoices did not cross over and now all our inventory totals are out of whack. I’ve been checking every invoice that I’ve done since Feb 26th. Makes me just want to throw up my hands and go shopping!
I have on a pair of jeans that I haven’t worn in months this morning! And yesterday I wore a pair of khakis that I haven’t been able to stand to wear and even the waist felt comfortable. I believe they were tight in the waist when I bought them. I’M SEEING RESULTS, I’M SEEING RESULTS. (Thought it was worth repeating!)
Tig, a big PAT ON THE BACK, for all the exercise you did yesterday. The puppy is a West highlandler Terrior, it was so cute.
Jello, you must be doing something right for the sales clerk to tell you that you can’t wear the larger size. As the regular sizes keep getting tighter and smaller I may never be able to wear a smaller size. Gee whiz who wants to see a 53 year old with her mid drift hanging out! Phew!
Café, you sound great, shaking a little bootie on the dance floor………. Hmmmmm, okay won’t go there! Heehee Sounds like you had a good time.
Ramsgirl, tell us all about yourself. I’m nosy!
A big hello to the rest of you guys. I’ve taken a break and now I’ve got to go back to looking at INVOICES AND INVENTORY!
Hi ladies! Been trying to get in here to post this morning.
SEMO! You are on FIRE, gal! Congrats on your RESULTS. Tell me again what program you are on (I remember it was 90 days) and what #DAY you are on with exercise. I think it's around 40 days? I'm so excited for you!
Jello, oh Jello - now I want to shop too! Sounds like a good time, and it sounds like your new attitude is paying off.
And Tiger, jumping on the exercise bandwagon!! Woo-hoo!
There's a feeling coming over me like I need to MOVE!
Drinking my water, with a little echinacea and astragalus in it because everyone else has spring colds and I do NOT want one...
Drowning in work right along there with Semo. And I am feeling so much better and my outlook is better too. I am focusing on the weight I lost since last year and am proud that I did not put it back on but worked hard to keep it off. It's only 10 lbs., but that's 10 less to lose this year. I am going to stay humble and try to get through each day with a "Bright" outlook and focus on my food one day at a time. I will not beat myself up for woulda', coulda' shoulda', but will congratulate myself for each successful meal I get through...small baby steps make up a mile eventually!!
Right now I am drinking my water and trying to stay cool as it's been really hot here for the past two days...duh?? What happened to easing out of winter and easing into Spring.
