Cool Thanks!

I ordered the book by the 2 female nutritionist and I am just waiting its arrival. I think I need a book to guide me in the right direction and to help me get in the right frame of thinking. My thinking is screwed up since I hopped on the scale a couple of days ago and was up 3 lbs. But I think that has to do with still having the diet mentality and being told I could eat whatever lead me to eat the stuff I hadn't in a long time. THankfully now that stuff is losing its appeal since its no longer labeled "bad" and I can have it in moderation.

How have you ladies been?

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. All our kids and family live out of state so ours was a quiet one. Church then to Walmart and home. Spent a nice quiet day watching movies with Tony.

Today I started my exercise routine and will do it 3 days a week. Decided I need to listen to my body on that as well as my eating. Lots of laundy to do today and some housework as well.

We had a great easter. We went on a hike. It was so crazy since we didn't expect for it to be that hard. The hike trail was 3 miles long and was supposedly a moderate trail. Well we had our 5 year old and 2 year old. Our youngest was in a Jeep jogging stroller. This trail kicked my butt we got about .75 miles in and I was on the verge of a panic attack. This was my first time ever hiking and being that deep in the wilderness scared the crap out of me plus we were very high and looking down the side of the cliff I was like okay Im done lol. Thankfully my husband was understanding and was fine with us turning around. Plus the elevation was over 6000 ft and I am not in good enough shape yet to do that hike. I just moved from sea level Kansas to Colorado Springs a little over 6000 ft. That hike will definitely be something that I will tackle but I just pushed myself way to far to fast. Well once we turned around we got on this paved trail and we all enjoyed it so much it was a nice family outing and we got to bring our Great pyrenees doggy also which every kid loves to touch. IE is getting easier and now I notice that I stop once I feel myself getting full and its not as hard as it used to be. Its getting easier everyday, I think my body will adjust soon.

I understand about the Colo. air. My dh is snowboarding with some of the family right now but I declined. I can't breath there. I've been kind of dizzy for a couple days so I haven't been very hungry. That's ok. I think I am just starting to feel a little better.

Hi everyone! I received Paul McKenna's book today, and I am really enjoying it. Catholic Cajun, you were so right; it's such an easy read and with just plain good common sense suggestions. I was honestly apprehensive at first, thinking the hypnosis cd would be too "new agey", but it's not like that at all. It's just a wonderful relaxation tape that gets you into a good frame of mind.

The book also comes with a wallet sized hunger/satiety guide and also the 4 golden rules, so I can constantly be reminded.

The author says to just sit down and read the book - he says it can be read in two hours and I believe him, it's such an easy read.

I do have to add that although I don't want another diet, I do feel a real need to eat healthy due to health issues. I greatly believe in the concept of volumetrics (eating low caloric density), but it can be done without counting calories or points, just focusing on low caloric density foods and eating less of higher ones. I am following suggestions in The Diet Denominator book and website.

I am very grateful to the person who started this intuitive eating thread. I really find like I've found a home here.

Now I have to go back and read all the threads I've missed!

Where in Colorado is he? I get winded easily in Colorado and when I feel like I can't catch my breath my anxiety goes way up and being deep in the hills scared me because I started thinking what if I freak out. My doctor prescribed me xanax for when I have a panic attack. I hate pills so I've only taken it 2 times in the past 3 months. Little hills are torture in Colorado I'm just hoping it wont take to long. I should have brought water since it helps prevent sickness. I probably wont be going to the top of pikes peak for a while or skiing in Denver.
