  • Happy Happy here I walked on the treadmill just now. Had a great breakfast of two poached eggs on rye toast and a glass of juice. Heading out the door in a few minutes for a hair cut. Pretty good day so far.

Crystle- You're on a roll now girl friend. Way to go.... The rice cakes sound out of this world. I would love some good veggie recipes.

Mercee-Doing great with the walking. Keep up the good work.

Solly-Hope the Grandson is better today. Your hot tub is sounding so good.

Ellen- Glad to see you posting here. Wow your stats make me want to look into a vegan diet.

Better get my shoes on and finish getting ready..... Check back later...
  • Good afternoon ladies.

Good to see so many more posts.

Thanks for al the concerns over my grandson. Day 2 with no fever but still cranky and sleeping alot. He took a 4 hour nap yesterday.

Ellen, so glad to see your post. Wow dropping a med is great news and losing wt to boot. Sounds like vegan is working for you. I am confused. I thought vegan was no meat? I saw you were looking for gluton free meat? I didn't know there was gluten in meat?

Toni, kick your feet up and get some rest. , WTG getting on that

Crystle, Your nachos sound good. We got a short walk in also.

Mercee, what a great walk you got.

We did go for a walk with the dog last night, about a mile. There was a cool breeze. I have been trying to sit outside after dinner as long as I can and enjoy the spring weather.
  • Hair cut done. And I feel better all fluffed up.

Solly- The walk with your dog sounds so nice. A good way to enjoy the evening.

Hope everyone is having a great day.....
  • Morning ladies:

The scale stayed the same, however I am wearing a dress that was to tight before and it looks great on. I decided I will keep walking and eating right and allow the sacle to catch up with me. LOL

Toni- Glad you are feeling better after getting fluffed up. It is amazing how a haircut can make us feel.

Solly- Glad you grandson is getting better.

Well I have to get back to work. Have a great day everyone. It feels good to be back here with all you wonderful ladies.
  • Good morning
I stayed this same this week. But I'm still happy. Like Mercee my clothes are fitting a little better and I feel good so what more can I ask. Hopefully the weight loss will soon follow.

I'm crazy busy this morning so I'll try to post again later.

    ((Everybody))

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • I was actually up 2 lbs, but have been trying to cut back on my water pills to 2 a day and that is probably some of it, I hope.

I am seeing a new doctor early next month and she is also a nutritionist so hopefully she can get me started on the right track.

We went to a boy scout luncheon today. They served hot browns. I ate it and I had about 5 bites of the chocolate cake mostly b/c I was starving and it was already on the table. Coach Calapari was the main speaker and being a UK fan, it was a fun time.

Mercee, I love your attitude on the scale. I will be so glad when I can get my legs straightened out and start walking again. I have been walking outside in the evenings and can do it about a mile. Congrats on that dress fitting. I think that is the best feeling.

Crystle, congrats on your clothes fitting better also. What an accomplishment.

Toni, I bet your are all dolled up now. I have the worst time with hair. I liked it better when I was bald and I could just throw on a wig.

I will definately have to take a walk tonightto walk off that dessert. I think my GS wil be there when I get home so I may take him for a walk. He is feeling better, but last night the rash appeared so I guess the dr was right in saying it probably was Roseolla (sp).

    Have a great evening everyone
  • Having a great day. Weighed in two lbs. down and 1 lb. away from my ticker weight. So I've had a good week. Walked on the treadmill for the second day in a row. Took a friend out for her birthday lunch and she wanted to go to our little Dairy Shack for lunch. I was proud I ordered a Chef's salad and an unsugared ice tea. Couldn't even finish the salad. Tonight I'm making something with chicken breast in a pita bread.

Mercee- Its wonderful to get in something with a better fit. I tried on some new jeans I had hang in my closet. 2 fit 2 didn't. I was happy with the two new jeans....

Crystle- Congrads on staying the same and losing inches. That is a great feeling.

Solly- That water is really a bummer. I can't tell I left my water pills off today. This afternoon my ankles are swollen. I'm sure you'll do better next week. Don't give up. You've done so good and are such an inspiration.....

Time for a little nap. Happy afternoon....
  • Good morning.

It is another beautiful day here and it is slow at the office so I am taking a 1/2 day and going to take by GS to the park. My younhgest is keepinghim since the babysitter's husband had to have some minor surgery today. So we will go to the park or something.

Toni, I am so proud of you. Walking 2 days and ordering such a good lunch. I would have had to have an icecream. ha-ha I am in a good frame of mind right now and anxious to visit with the new dr. A friend of my DD's goes to her and she has lost a ton of wt. Of course, I am batteling the meds that keep the wt on.

Crystle, Mercee, Ellen, hope you are having a great day.

    Talk to you tomorrow.
  • Good morning
Not much computer time again today. I had a small eating set back last night but it was fun eating tortilla chips and salsa with my youngest. We were watching an old Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs while munching on chips. The good news is I did get a walk in.

    Email Tip:
    Avoid Diets Low In Calories
Common sense says that if you want to lose weight, you should lower your calorie intake. But how low can you go? It's important to find a happy medium that will be good for your body. Many people believe that dropping down to 800 calories or less will help shed those extra pounds. However, this type of calorie cutting is neither healthy nor sustainable. People who need to follow a low calorie diet for medical reasons should do so only under the supervision of a doctor. Side effects of calorie-restricted diets include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea and constipation.

No problem with that one..I eat too much.

Hope ya'll are having a good day. I gotta get going. Still have a few things to finish online.

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Howdy all.... Just got done having oatmeal with fresh blueberries in it and a glass of peach mango juice. I got my walk in today on the treadmill. So I'm on my way. Eating has been really good. Hope I can make it through the week end. Just taking one day at a time. Trying hard to get rid of night eating.

Solly- What a fun afternoon with Grandson. I'm sure he'll love it. Can't wait till you go to the new doctor. Have a wonderful healthy day.

Crystle- You sound so busy. Love the fish your son caught. Get away from those chips.

    Happy healthy day...
  • Hello Ladies!

I actually did weigh yesterday but never got the chance to get on here. I had my silk ladies over, and then ran over to meet Tom for his doctor appointment, then we took the car over to the mechanic, came home, he worked in the yard on the garden and I cooked, cleaned up, loaded up the dishwasher, made his breakfast smoothie and lunch, then about crashed.

When I weighed yesterday, I was down 1/2 a pound! I will take it! Anything in the right direction is encouraging for me after struggling for so long to lose anything. I am eating brown rice, and beans, and my blood sugar is not perfect, but better than it was. I know I need to add more exercise in there. I missed water aerobics yesterday...I over slept! Tom went to work early, and I thought I would just sleep another 15 minutes or so...but ended up sleeping another hour and a half. It felt good!

SOLLY: I am not eating meat...faux meats like Morningstar Farms are made with what is called Seitan...it is a fake meat made with wheat gluten. I can't have it. It is very hard to find no gluten fake meats. So I am kind of stuck with tofu, and beans. I am struggling to get enough protein, but I feel good so maybe its not a bad thing?! How is the grandbaby doing? I don't get to see mine nearly enough. I may drive out to see my grandson tomorrow if I have a car. Tom's is in the shop...I hope it is done today or my day tomorrow is going to be kind of ruined!

COUNTRY: I used to get Vegetarian Times! I like it, and the recipes, but I did not like the 'agenda' sometimes. I did not renew, and had plans to check out their web site for recipes. In the back of the magazine, they have a chart that shows you whether the recipe is vegan, gluten free, low fat, fast to prepare...I took all my copies and went through them and found a good number of promising ones. The lentil/fennel salad I sent you was from VT! Any vegan gluten free recipes you find or have tried would be greatly appreciated! Got any ideas for beans? I can only cook Tex-Mex so many nights a week before someone starts to complain!

TONI: Good for you, getting on your treadmill! I did once last week and really need to do that regularly when I don't want to walk outside, or don't make it to water aerobics. The pollen is pretty bad here, and I have been using that as an excuse! Shame on me! The vegan diet I am on is very low fat. You might just really keep tabs on your fat intake and reduce how much meat you are eating...especially any high fat kinds...and see what you think. I don't exactly mind it, but I really miss the ease of cooking with meat, cheese, olive oil, etc.

MERCEE: I have been on here a long long time, and used to be the moderator...so I wanted you to know this is not a flippant remark....your clothes fitting better is a better indicator of your diet working then the scale. That is awesome! Often we 'rearrange' the weight before it drops off. Its especially encouraging if it is belly weight, which is a sign of insulin resistance. When I notice my belly is smaller, I get pretty excited! So, all that to say, congrats! How is the weather up in your neck of the woods? I may get up there before the fall...if I do we will have to meet for lunch or something.

    Caio!

  • Hi Ladies:

It is a beautiful day here. I got my walk in yesterday I was able to do 2.5 miles on the track. I had to stay late at work last night but I talked a co-worker into walking with me.

Toni- Congrats on your loss. Keep up the good work. Keep up the good eating. You are amazing.

Solly- I hope you enjoy your day with your GS at the park.

Crystle- Congrats on staying the same but losing inches. That's still a great place to be. Please inform your youngest to keep you out of the chips. LOL

    Have a great day everyone!!
  • Ellen- We were posting at the same time. The weather here is great . Congrats on your loss and thanks for the encouragement. Have a great day. I am happy your new way of life is working so well for you. Keep up the good work.
  • Good morning. At least it is Friday.

We had a nice day yesterday. Did not make it to the park as my DD had to go to the mall and then get ready to go to a ballgame last night. So we ate lunch at Subway and got her gift and then went for a short walk. It was still a nice enjoyable day. We have a busy weekend. I have to work the soup kitchen by myself as DH is playing golf. My youngest was going to work with me, but my SIL is playing golf with my Dh and MY DD has a shower to give so I will take the baby so she can get ready and go to the shower and my youngest will keep him while I am at the soup kitchen. Then we have to go to a first communion party. Sunday I beleive we are getting the baby's picture made. We tried last week until he came down with the fever.

Ellen, how about adding protein shakes to increase your protein. I'm not sure if they contain gluten or not. I have been drinking 2 a day. Hope you get your car back so you can visit with your grandbaby.

Mercee, WTG getting that walk in and getting a co-worker to walk too.

Crystle, I found a tortilla chip that is wonderful and not bad for you. The brand is called "Food Should Taste Good" They are low in fat and calories
and have ww in them. Sometimes I have to have my salsa and chips. I used to use triscuits, but I think these are about the same counts.

Toni, you have been doing so great. Another walk on the You are kicking *@*@ girl. You will do fine through the weekend.

Got to run. Have a great day and weekend.
  • Good afternoon. Went out to lunch today. Didn't do to well it was a fish buffet and of course I went and had the sides. So I'll call this a cheat day and get back on the wagon tomorrow. Or rather tonight. Need to go to our little town market tomorrow and pick up some fruit and a couple of things.

Solly- Sounds like you have a busy week end planned. Thats so great you work at the soup kitchen. I admire you.

Ellen- Did you recommend the fat free vegan. I eat meat but I love that site and have found lots of good recipes there. Thank you for the site name. I'm so glad you're having success with your eating.

Mercee- Keep up the good work. I would love to say I walked that far.

Have a good week end everyone.
