TV Question: The Biggest Loser

  • Ok, I have to ask...did anyone watch the season premiere of The Biggest Loser last night? It was the first time I watched almost the entire show. I missed the beginning, but I saw all the weigh ins, and these people each lost like 12, 16, 18 lbs. at their first weigh in~

Was that supposed to have been weight lost in ONE WEEK? I got the impression that it was!!!!! I was flabbergasted! Most times, I can't lose 1 lb. a week!! I turned off that show feeling like I was the biggest loser..and not in a good way, either~!

Maybe I heard it wrong, though....does anybody know?
(if this has been brought up in a previous thread, sorry, I couldn't find it)
  • Yes, it was one week. HOWEVER, they work out for at least 3 hours a day (2 hr cardio, 1 hr weight training, or MORE), every day, for that week. Not to mention that it was the FIRST week, and nearly all of us have had the "first week" experience of dropping a ton of water weight...it slows down.

I don't have time to work out over 21 hours a week. Thats only a little less than I get in a whole month! So its understandable that they're losing faster.
  • I agree they are at that house and it seems they have all this free time to work out. So yeah. If none of us had jobs and a great gym at the house, perfect food and a trainer I'm sure all of use would lose that much.

It's all water weight. next week they won't lose that much.
