I think we're all seeking to be "accepted".....it does get frustrating when you think everyone is ignoring your posts. I feel that way on a certain forum on here. I thought I "fit in", but apparently not. Oh well, moving on....

Jen415 makes a very good point.
It doesn't really matter why your posts go unanswered. It doesn't really matter what else is going on in a thread. If YOU don't feel comfortable there ... find another one where you do.
This site is huge and certainly there is a place for all.

Amen, Susan and Jen!
There is sure to be some cliquiness here... there's such a wide range of people participating on the boards. It's unfortunate, but it's "real life".
But there should be a place for everyone here. Unless you're a spammer or just plain nasty.

You could always start a thread called something like, "The Loving Kindness Thread". heh heh. All are welcome, lots of nurturing, and no cliques!

Thanks Everybody! I know your all right. It's tough for the "new kid on the block" to "fit in" when people have already established friendships, etc. I am just going to keep posting and responding and being friendly and see how it goes! So far by me doing what Ellis suggested, doing an intro post has worked wonders!

One other quick thing I'd like to mention is that some areas are just not as heavily read as others. For example, a question posted in "nutrition" might go a few days unanswered while something posted in "support" might get 12 answers in the first hour It's not that people don't care about you or the topic; it just so happens that not as many people happen to be reading/posting in every area

My sister actually posted on this board a couple times and never came back because she never got responses. I dug around and found her posts--turns out, they were in a category within a category within a category...they were so burried in the boards that I bet only 3 people ever even SAW her posts, let alone responded to them!

I don't start many threads. I find there's usually a place already started where I can ask/say just about anything (I pop into the 20s group, the 100+ group, the 300+ group, and lots of others...ask around...I'm practically everywhere--sometimes including places I really don't belong ).

Thanks for the advice, Jill. That makes total sense. I guess I just got to keep posting and responding.
