What's Wrong w/ me?

Okay I've posted quite a bit. I have noticed that my posts get ignored or looked over? Is it something I said or did? Do I smell? *sniffs*? What is it? I don't get it. I thought I was being an active participant and responding to posts, etc? Am I just supposed to sit back and shut up or what?

:(

Lady, I'm not sure what you mean. :?: I've looked over the threads you started, and they've all been answered except for the whole-wheat one. (if I can think of an answer, I'll reply. ;) )

Sometimes it takes a bit of posting to "fit in" to some of the threads. This is a huge forum, and sometimes people get lost in the shuffle. :( We don't want that to happen to you!
I get ignored on occasion, too. We all do.

What you could do is find a couple of forums that really interest you, and post an introduction. Tell the group you'd like to join them. :)

I'm glad you asked instead of just leaving... there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you, hon. We're glad to have you here. :grouphug:

Aw thanks. yeah I know I've gotten a few responses. I guess your right, just takes time for everybody to get to know everybody, esp. in a large community like this one. I guess I just have no patience at all! lol. Oh no I don't wanna leave! There is so many great supportive people here and great advice and tips to leave! I figured I would just come right out and ask! lol. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I will try to be more patient! :)

Hehe I feel like that sometimes, too, FLady! Either that, or I feel like I'm the Official Thread Killer (very often threads just sort of die immediately after I post).

Sometimes I don't have enough time to formulate a response AND get it typed in. I tend to make really loooooooong answers, because I find brevity sometimes leads to misunderstanding in internet communications. I try to compensate for the lack of gestures and vocal inflections by using more (and more) words to illustrate my points. Oh dear... I seem to have done it again...

Or, sometimes, I don't feel I have anything useful to contribute, and just a "Yeah, I agree" doesn't seem very constructive. Although, on ocasion, maybe that's exactly what someone wants to hear! I know I like to hear it!

In any event, nothing wrong with you, kiddo!

ellis 05-09-2006 09:44 PM

You're very nurturing, Flady, and we love people like you. You'll be an old-timer here in no time. ;)

There ya go. It happens to old Lena, too. :lol3: I'll bet there is a TON of people here who feel that way on occasion. But I'm all for laying your feelings on the table. You go, girl! :carrot:

This has happened to me alot as well. I try to look at it as my answer was the best answer possible so no one needs to reply, there's nothing left to say. :nose: That usually makes me feel better about killing threads.

I read alot on here, but I don't read every single thread. That would take me just too much time unfortunately. I try to answer every thread that I have something to say or know something about. Sometimes that isn't a whole lot. Other times I get diarrhea of the keyboard and just keep typing and then end up with a long reply that isn't really necessary.

Aw thanks gals

Aw thanks you gals. I guess it happens to us all at times. :^: I really have enjoyed my time here and I hope to be an "old timer". I even want to stay here after I lose the weight. *see how I did a positive thought there?* lol. :D

Thanks again!

Flady, I wouldn't sweat it. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to find a thread where you fit in. I have been on a couple here and there where I'd post something and would hear crickets, tumbleweed, etc, but others where I felt comfortable right away and always got responses. I'm glad that you're sticking around here!

Thanks Christina! :)

Hey, sorry If I have posted in ur threads, but to be honest I feel the same way, Ive been here a little while now, but still I seem to 'kill' threads, my posts/threads get over looked, and I feel like in a post within a group's forum I feel like Im interfering and I cant keep up with the clique, so I have resided to trolling, reading, looking for advice and posting what I know or is relavent.

O and f-lady I couldnt get ur homepage to comeup

JosiCuervo 05-10-2006 08:31 AM

This cracked me up because I had just mentioned to a friend on another board that I'm the official thread killer there. I was joking around that people must be too scairt to post after me, or they just don't "git" what I'm trying to say.

I will do my nest to respond to everything that catches my interest, without getting too high on my soapbox. I tend to do that.

I'll also try not to murder any threads.

;)

Quirky1 05-10-2006 08:46 AM

Well JosiCuervo (*love* that name by the way! :D ), I couldn't let you kill this thread so I had to come and post after you.

Now somebody needs to post after me so that I won't kill this thread. :^: If nobody does then I nominate myself "Queen Threadkiller."

srmb60 05-10-2006 09:03 AM

Let me kill it :)
I just wanted to add that although I'm a pretty frequent poster, sometimes if what I think has already been said, I don't add anything.
And I don't really chat, I just sort of respond.

Just join in conversations that are already going. I only recall one time that my question did not get answered and I was popping into a 'plan' thread that had nothing to do with me.

ChefBran, I love that! I'll have to remember that next time I get no replies.:)
