I've read about this too. I can't believe some people would put themselves through this to lose weight, rather than diet and exercise. I think it's horrible and no doctor should agree to this.

I read about this this morning. The goop it feeds the person has 0 carbs, just fat and protein, on top of no fiber whatsoever. Also, like others mentioned, just 800 calories.

The woman, in the article I read, was doing it for her wedding, and she was already thin. I don't understand how a doctor could do this when it's not like a person has to get weight off or their health in in grave danger. These are vanity pounds (at least in the acticle I read). Just seems like it is bordering on unethical on the doctors' part in that particular case.

I saw this on an online news program I watch. Very disturbing. Any doctor that does this should have their license called into question.

i don't think i could handle that unless i was unconscious the whole time! i like to eat too much to depend on a feeding tube.

that is crazy and probably dangerous. no bueno.

That's crazy. I could maybe see it in extreme obesity cases where people are over 800lbs maybe for a short period of time if they're in danger of dying.

I see people having regular weight loss surgery though when they're under 250lbs, so I guess nothing surprises me anymore.

my sister just sent me the news video and NOW i know what you're talking about:

it's disgusting.

such techniques - like gastric bypass and lapband - were intended to help those with significant and i mean SIGNIFICANT amounts of weight to lose, not help lose the vanity ten.

that's like baby formula and c-sections - once intended to save the lives of babies with no other option, too many women regard them as conveniences and to **** with the consequence to the poor infant.

Don't assume.
